In the late summer of 2011, I was searching for a small home to rent in southern Anne Arundel County and was having an extremely difficult time getting anyone - including any realtors - to call me back. I called Maggie to inquire about one of her listed houses, to see if the person would consider a short term rental. While that ultimately did not work out, she did try to help me find a rental and showed me several homes within just a couple of days of contacting her. I ultimately found a rental through an ad in the paper but thought very highly of my experience with Maggie. When I decided to start looking for a home to buy closer to Annapolis, I contacted Maggie to be my agent. I explained what I was looking for, my price range, what I did and did not like about various home styles and the geographical area I was aiming for and she immediately started the search. She kindly pared down the MLS listings to ensure I wasn't wasting time looking at homes that she thought I wouldn't like and never tried to talk me into looking at homes outside of my price range. With a busy work schedule and a child to care for, my availability to look at homes wasn't the greatest but she worked with me to get out there whenever we needed to. While she was not super-familiar with the area (having worked out of the southern Anne Arundel County Long and Foster office until the office closed and consolidated with Annapolis), she helped me explore my options as much as possible and made inquiries of other agents to get the scoop. Buying the home as a single person was intimidating but I didn't feel like I was in the process alone with Maggie acting as my agent. When I decided to make an offer, she helped me decide on a dollar amount and helped me negotiate on a few issues. She readily forwarded comps and supporting info whenever available. She recommended excellent home inspectors and coordinated the pest inspection and the well testing without any hassle to me. When my mortgage company was proving unresponsive to inquiries, she was aggressive in getting responses out of them and I received apologies for their delays. Even during the final walk-through she acted on my behalf when it was determined that some minor repairs were not completed in a satisfactory manner. At that point, I was just anxious to get on with it but she helped me get the best result. I used the title company she recommended and closing could not have been easier. I was very pleased with the whole process - she really made it as easy as possible. p.s. She is also the listing agent on the home my ex and I are selling in southern Anne Arundel County. She has been helpful in making recommendations/setting price etc. and I am confident she will act on our behalf in those negotiations as well.
