3D design was horrible. Could have done it myself. They said that after two weeks it was not quite final yet but never got a final product. Call backs never happened - had to call repeatedly for initial response and then they rescheduled 1st appointment. We asked them to make some changes on the final produst - then called repeatedly with no response.

The crew was able to work with my schedule and put the fence in ahead of time. They arrived at 8am and were done by 12pm. The team at the company was easy to work with and quickly responded to all of my questions. They did leave extra supplies in the front yard, but I called and the situation was taken care of the next day.

From the beginning of the sales process to having the fence completed, Fence & Deck Connection was incredibly easy to work with and did a great job. Our salesman, Kevin, was incredibly thorough: he walked us through the installation process and the various options for materials, etc. Kevin got us the estimate quickly and promptly answered all questions we had. We also ended up needing to get a stake survey of our property done to ensure the fence was within our property lines, they were great facilitating this and being flexible with the schedule to accommodate this last minute addition. We worked with Jeff to coordinate scheduling, etc. and they were able to start quickly after we signed the contract. Jeff was great with keeping us in the loop about schedule changes due to weather (fence was installed in January 2014 and there was lots of rain and snow during this time). The installation crew talked with us before they started to ensure we were all on the same page. They were very professional and got the fence done quickly. The fence looks great and is exactly what we wanted.

I am more impressed with this company as time passes that I was inspired to write a review even though I have had my fence for about a year. From the first appointment, Fence & Deck Connection folks were great at communicating, providing options, and being responsible and responsive of big and little details. Everything about the design and installation went smoothly, but what has impressed me the most is the lifetime benefits of being a Fence & Deck customer. With this erratic weather, my gate needed adjusting twice. Most recently, it was discovered that one of the gate posts had settled and needed to be re-installed. Fence & Deck Connection took care of these fixes at no cost and within a day or two of being notified. It's so rare these days that companies stand behind their products in this way. I can unreservedly recommend this company (and have made referrals to my friends). I'm sure there are cheaper options (although their bid was within $100 of the 2 other bids I received), but there is great value because of their commitment to quality.

Top notch work all around. Outstanding communication, very thorough, and pricing was competitive.

When he came out for the consolation he walked the house with us. We talked about the plans and he explained some different options. He emailed us plans of what we discussed.

I was more than pleasantly surprised by the customer service given by Deck and Fence Connection. The salesman, Kevin, went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed for our HOA submission, updated the contract quickly as we made changes, personally visited to ensure the survey was performed, and provided great follow up and communication. He even came to our house on a Sunday to review the job/contract!! The company assigns you a customer service representative too. Our assigned customer service representative answered my emails promptly and made sure information was relayed in a timely manner. The price for the fence was competitive, the quality was excellent, the installers cleaned up after the job - I can't say enough about the entire experience!! I have recommended this company to several people.

One person came out to do the walk through and do the plans. I was disappointed I could only use the 3D design with that company which I felt was not clear in the deal. I felt it provided me no value since I did not choose to use them.

We got three estimates for this job. Fence and Deck Connection provided the most detailed and accurate estimate of what needed to be done and their price was best. They said they could do the job in 1 to 2 weeks. We accepted their estimate on January 10 and the job was finished on the 24th. Their truck arrived around 9 AM and they were finished by 11 AM. This was on a very cold day with snow on the ground and the job was at the top of a very steep, slippery hill. They did exactly what we needed done, carried away all the old fence parts, and we are very pleased with the work.

They were very responsive and professional in providing a detailed proposal and their pricing was a bit less than the company I chose. I would have used them but the other company I used had a strong rating on Angie's list whereas this company had no rating.

We had an estimator come out several weeks before-hand to get a quote, and were pleased with what we saw and heard. Fence and Deck Connection was noticeably less expensive than our other quote, and seemed just as if not more professional. There was some miscommunication regarding the permitting process, but once that was taken care of we were promptly scheduled. On the day of the installation, the crew arrived shortly after the materials. After we went over the layout and confirmed post and gate placements, they got straight to work. They were efficient and productive, and I was pleased by the speed with which they worked. Suffice it to say I was impressed and slightly surprised when they were finished by the end of the day! I figured it would take them two full days, but they did a fantastic job. My only complaint is on the management side of things. The issue with the permit would not have been an issue at all if it had been communicated to us in a timely manner. Unfortunately it was not, which left us initially confused and frustrated that we weren't being scheduled. Once we called them, all was made clear. My recommendation here is for management to communicate such things to their customers. Overall, we were satisfied with the end result, and look forward to many years of a beautiful fence.

We had a very large, very dead tree from our neighbor's yard fall into our yard. Luckily, the only thing it took out was three sections of our wood fence. After our neighbor assured us their insurance would cover the cost of fixing the fence, we arranged for an estimate. Your representative was here the next day and we received the estimate in the mail within 48 hours. As we were working with an insurance company it took a few weeks before we had the check from the insurance company to cover the cost of repairs. As your office is only a few miles from our house, I stopped by to pay the estimate in person and was assured I'd hear from someone within the next few days to schedule the fix. Today, the men were here at the time I was told to expect them and had the fence fixed within 2 hours. Later in the day your representative stopped by to inspect the completed fence. I am very impressed with the promptness and professionalism of the staff and would certainly call on them again for other yard work.

We concluded with the Home Owner's Association and the building permits required in Anne Arundel County, that it was in our best interest to not have a deck, rather to have a patio. The company staff members are working on an estimate. Unfortunately, they could not make a drawing of a patio, only a deck. Request Angie's List process a refund.

I want to preface my critique by saying up front that I have used Angie's Big Deals many times and until this experience, I have been EXTREMELY satisfied with work performed by other contractors for other types of jobs. I was not completely satisfied with service provided this time, but it wasn't horrible...thus my "C" rating, which I consider just average. It started off oddly when the deck estimator called to set up the appointment. He did not seem to know the area very well, and actually seemed to be confused as to what company he was providing the estimate for. When I pressed him, he admitted that he does estimating for Home Depot as well, or some larger network of deck builders. I confess, I was confused by his response. However, I prefer to use local, independent businesses when having work done, so this was a little disappointing. But since the money was already spent, I made the appointment anyway. A couple weeks later, on the day of the appt, I received a call from the estimator saying he will either be late, or that he could reschedule. I elected to have him come anyway, since I had already left work early to meet him at my home. When he finally showed up, he seemed a little distracted, maybe tired. He was polite and professional, but it appeared to me that he was a salesman, not a deck builder. He knew about materials, but could not answer certain questions about construction techniques and local code requirements. When he left, he stated the estimates would be complete by Wednesday of the following week. Two weeks later, when I hadn't heard anything, I emailed the company, who promptly sent the estimates. The estimates are very complete and detailed. However, the "3D rendering" that was advertised in the Big Deal was never provided or even mentioned. Someone from the company did attempt to reach me by telephone about a week later, but I didn't call them back. Again, this wasn't a horrible experience overall, just not a great one. I will seek out another contractor for this job.

The crew did an excellent job. They finished in two days and cleaned up the site. The company was flexible even on the last day of construction to my last minute requests.

The salesman arrived on time. We knew what we wanted when the salesman came to the house, we just needed proper measurement and an estimate. He also suggested some alternative designs which was great. We incorporated some of his suggestions. The installers schedule allowed them to install the fence 2 weeks earlier than we requested. They were friendly, did an excellent job installing the fence, and cleaned everything up before they left. They were missing 2 end caps for the gate, but that was fixed in 2 days. The quality control guy came the following evening and interviewed us about the installation. He came back the next day to repair some scuffs we noticed, installed the missing caps, and cleaned up some smudges. Great job all around, and that includes the receptionist who set up the initial appointment.

tech was professional and a bit late, but he did call well before hand and apologized and offered to reschedule. The measurements were taken, and tech listened to what I wanted and envisioned and he was very helpful with suggestions and listening to details. The computer drawing was a basic 3D model drawing, and showed a basic representation of the deck. although nice, I wanted to see what landscaping would do to the overall effect ( i guess that would be extra?) I did like the rendering, and when settled in the new home, I will build, perhaps change the overall design, with their help. I recommend.

The installers showed up on time and worked their tails off in the freezing cold. The fence went up quickly and perfectly. The best thing is that they build the doors and gates on-site to fit with the contours of your yard instead installing a pre-fab straight edged door that may not work if your yard is sloped. We could not be happier. We settled on a 6 ft privacy fence on the sides, a 5 foot privacy fence in the front topped with a 1 foot lattice accent. Along the back we have a paddock fence to allow us to see out the back of our yard into the woods behind us so as not to feel enclosed. No one lives behind us so this fence option stiff affords us maximum privacy and security for our pets. The gate handle/latch broke once. With one phone call they came out and replaced the entire handle/ latch unit. We weren't even home when they did it, it was awesome. We didn't need to call them more than once on any issue, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to adorn their yard with a beautiful fence. In sum: DO! DO! DO!

The sales guy was on-time and knowledgeable, he also had some good advice on the design and was very responsive via email, which I prefer. The workmanship is high quality and the crew was efficient. My only complaint was that they didn't honor the Angie's List coupon!! They said something about a discount they had already applied and the Angie's List discount would replace it... but based on my other estimates, the price after their 'discount' was more inline with what others offered.

The salesman went over all details of the contract before I signed it. It stated that the work would be done "one to two weeks" from the date the underground utilities were marked by Miss Utility. The day following the Miss Utility visit I was called by their sales manager who asked if I minded if they started the next day. I didn't. The materials were delivered the next morning at 8:00 AM. The workmen showed up at 8:15. The job was completed before 1:00 PM. The finished product appears to be attractive, sturdy, and exactly what I contracted for.

Too much money for a few pictures that I could have done if I had the right software.

Guys did a great job and a fair price.

Overall went perfect. No problems. Kevin came out to my house to do quote and came back second time to mark line. Ben followed up. Alex and his crew did install. 4 guys installed my fence in less than 8 hours! Wow! They called ahead every time they came out, followed up with email, etc. Very professional. After install I noticed each gate had 2 different locks. I called Ben and they came out few days later with new locks so they're both the same.

An estimator arrived the next day after my initial call & the estimate was $150.00 lower than another I'd received. He was very helpful w/the design and choice of material. Installers arrived a week later, early in the morning, right on time and the mechanic went over the drawing even suggesting centering the gate on the driveway. They were pleasant, very hard working and completed a beautiful job before I arrived home. The quality was excellent, and I, having been in construction for 30 yrs., can only classify this crew as craftsmen. I'll definitely refer this fine company in the future.

so the guy shows up and he thinks i wanted a fence (?). said he want prepared for deck, brick work, all his stuff was in another car. did his measurements, took some pics, we talked about options. 4 days later i get an email from his supervisor wanting to know how things went, i didnt respond, but knew if they had levels of mgmt, then the cost was going up. after i week i emailed back saying i've not heard anything. next day i get a quote for the deck, some cheesy 3d pics but nothing on the walkway or wall. its been almost 3 weeks and have not heard back, obviously they do not want my business, but don't have the professionalism to say so.
