Cabinet Discounters

From the first visit to the selection of materials to planning and installation, Duane did a fantastic job getting our kitchen done. We were very pleased with the service and the final product. The cabinets are top quality and the Quartz counter tops look awesome. This is a great company and you can rest assured you will get the attention and service you deserve with them. We coordinated this from the Springfield, VA location and the work was done in Gaithersburg, MD. There were no issues in getting things designed, ordered, delivered and installed. Installation was fast and professional.

We were very pleased with the results, The cabinets arrived on time and were an excellent match.

The cabinets were delivered on time and we were pleased with the quality. There were a few minor problems, but Cabinet Discounters sent someone out to take care of things. We loved our salesperson, Bekki Skeans, but unfortunately she left the company before our kitchen was finished. Another salesperson took over, and he did fine. My only reservation about this company is that the salesperson/designer does not come out to the site. They do the design based on blueprints and photos. I was not comfortable with this, so I hired another designer, but in the end we purchased out cabinets from Cabinet Discounters because they did have great cabinets for reasonable prices.

They are coming back to do a few little things. We got the cabinets they recommended. They have white closed doors, turntables and the shelf/inserts that slide out. They have good, strong hinges. The corner cabinet has the lazy Susan. I wanted a utensil drawer under the cooktop so they sent a carpenter who made it so the cable for the glass cooktop would fit behind it. They have pretty good designers and I could help them design it. They offer different kinds of countertops and sinks. They will do faucets or you can get your own sink and faucet if you want. They do good work but you want sure that you double check things. The electricians turned out to be the ones we had to watch the most. The had different teams coming out. I thought it was a good deal for the quality of work we got and the quality of countertop. The cabinets are fine with me. I can upgrade the wood if I want. We got the quartz countertop instead of the granite. They do not supply the appliance. We picked out a new microwave and they installed it as long as they were here. The quality of service was very good. Sometimes they have to stop and get stuff and traffic is bad sometimes in this area so they will give me a time frame and they show up within that time frame, but sometimes they have been an hour to an hour-and-a-half late. They give me a lock box to put on my house in case there is an emergency so they can get in. One morning the man showed up at 7:30 a.m. He was here to show the workers what to do. They were very professional, polite, respectful and the language was alright. They always asked if it was alright to use the rest room.

It turned out perfect and I remember the price was fair. They came out and measured and a week later they installed. The project went smoothly.

We could not be more pleased with the final product. Rick Masgay was the associate that assisted us on all steps of the process. Dates were professionally coordinated and kept. They were flexible without complaint when changes in our schedule caused delivery date changes and challenges.

Excellent! We're on schedule through the entire project. Design assistance was incredible. Went back and ordered bathroom cabinets two years later.

Excellent quality materials and installation. On schedule... The subcontractors were well-coordinated. They don't measure for the countertops until the cabinets are installed, so there is a delay there, but on my request they re-hooked up my gas stove so we could cook during the period we were waiting for the countertop (no kitchen sink or dishwasher for over a week, though). They mailed drawings to my house, and due to a mail glitch they didn't arrive before the work started, but they were able to get started and didn't lose any time. I had received a positive recommendation from a neighbor, so I didn't really price shop, but I did take advantage of a special on upgraded cabinets.

I didn't buy anything from them but I thought their service was very good. They were very responsive and they tried to be helpful when you were trying to figure out what you wanted to do. It is a show room that you go into and they have several different manufacturers that they represent. They work with you to lay out what your kitchen looks like and what dimensions they need in order to do a good job helping you out. They were very personable and very helpful. I ended up not going ahead with the project because I worked something out and decided I wasn't going to spend the money at this time. I think they did a good job. I thought that their prices were reasonable.

We started in February at a big box company first and got a preliminary design and cost idea to remodel our kitchen and bathroom. Using that as a baseline we met with kitchen remodelers and restorers in the Annapolis/Bowie area. Cabinet Discounters was one of 5 places we visited. One of our prospective contractors suggested we talk with Meg O'Neil. Meg was easy to talk to, patient in determining what we were after. After an initial 2 hour visit in February we met with Meg again in 2 weeks when she presented a design for our review. During this time we also shopped for countertops, lighting and flooring ideas. On May 3 we ordered our cabinets after Meg had visited our house, took detailed measurements and reviewed every detail of our order. Between February and May we had talked with Meg several times, visited other cabinet companies, selected countertops, reviewed plans with and architect and interior designer.

We thought that Claudia Gillespie was very competent. They seemed very knowledgeable. We ended up using another company that could do all aspects of the work.

They were just very professional. They know what they're doing and I really liked them. They had good ideas.

It went great. I was really pleased. I purchased one cabinet from them to add to my existing cabinet. Then they installed quartz countertops. They actually tore out my old countertops too. They did a good job. From the girl in the office to the guy who installed it, everybody was good.

They were outstanding. They were very professional. It was a large project and I got a very expensive kitchen and overall it was a great experience. I plan on using them in the future.

Im a new member to Angie's List, and I wanted to provide a review on Cabinet Discounters though the job was done a few years ago. We visited Joe Inscoe in July of 2008 at the showroom in Annapolis and made cabinet and granite selections from a wide range of cabinetry and granite counter tops. I elected to buy the sink, faucet, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher on line. Joe incorporated the appliance measurements into the CAD drawings so that everthing fit together. We were able to view the CAD designs for the kitchen which quicky fit the future vision. After a bit of back and forth we agreed on the design. Joe was very proactive and came to the house to confirm critical measurements and supplied all final CAD design files. The proposed schedule would have the demolition begin in early December 2008. The kitchen was mostly usable by early January and was complete by January 15. Cabinet Discounters and their sub-contractors all held strictly to the proposed schedule. The crew was excellent and they worked each day while we were at work. The demolition was completed in one day and all of the debris was hauled away. Joe and George were excellent. The workmanship and attention to detail on the woodwork were outstanding. There were a few issues - a ding on the refrigerator for one - that Cabinet Discounters quickly and efficiently. The finished kitchen is stunning. This is a far cry from the horror stories I hear from neighbors where the work takes 4, 5 and 6 months to complete. Cabinet Discounters is worth every penny. I love my kitchen every time I use it.

We visited the showroom in Annapolis and selected the materials from a wide range of cabinetry, counter tops, sinks, faucets, hardware, etc. They had all of the cabinet features that we were looking for plus some new things that we had not seen at other showrooms. Our salesman, Joe Inscoe, worked out a CAD design for the kitchen and showed it to us upon our return. It was just what we had wanted. He also made some subtle additions to the original layout. We also made a few suggestions and Joe agreed to add them to the design. After we agreed to the design, Joe came to the house and confirmed the measurements, verified the overall design, checked the electrical wiring and so forth. We received a package in the mail with the final CAD design files, product brochures on the features of the cabinets we had chosen and the proposed schedule for the job. The proposed schedule was a little further in the future than we had hoped but the company and their sub-contractors all held strictly to the proposed schedule. In fact, they actually finished ahead of schedule. We have dogs in the house and the crew was very accommodating of our needs to move the dogs in and out while the work was going on. The demolition was quick and complete. All of the debris was hauled away promptly and the items to be reused were set aside neatly for pickup by a local charity. The plumber and electrician performed their work according to the design and promptly, with no mess. The crew, Joe and George, often confirmed with us just what we wanted and performed all the work with care and professionalism. Their workmanship and attention to detail were outstanding. When a few glitches arose, like one cabinet of the wrong size being delivered, Cabinet Discounters addressed the problems quickly and efficiently so the job could remain on schedule. The kitchen was even better than we had envisioned.

It was a major job. They did a lot of stuff. Everything came up fine, and they did an excellent job. Our designer was really good and really helpful because my husband and I have trouble with decisions. We wanted a passage between the kitchen and living room. It was her idea, but she couldn't do it. However, she came up with a good design to make up for it. She came up with some great ideas. The kitchen looks gorgeous. It's just great. We had some detailed work that needed to be done, and they came back. They were really good.

We may have been able to just get the design from Kerrie and gone elsewhere for the cabinets as you pay a fee for the design which goes towards the cabinets wnen you place your order. I have heard of some Amish cabinet makers who are very good and quite a bit cheaper, but our relationship w/ Kerrie kept us from doing that. To each his own.One cabinet for the microwave was made wrong and they had a replacement here in 2 days!! Incredibel and impressive!!

Kerrie Treat was our kitchen designer and the 2nd one we went to. She came up with an incredible design. She was very patient with our constant questions and changes. We used Brighton cabinets, which are the highest grade they carry: all solid wood and dovetailed. lots of drawers and additional 'nice to have' upgrades. We got everything we could have dreamed of and things she knew we would love. When one cabinet came in with a drawer switched, we had the replacement custom cabinet within 2-3 days. Wow! Great company to work with. We also bought our granite from them and couldn't be happier and at a great price. When it came time to have the granite templated, they were having a sale of a free edge upgrade which they offered us. That really added to the beauty of the overall end product. Nice serendipity. You can use their contractors or your own. We used Home Aid, Mike Zittinger, 443-871-1859. He was used to working w/ this company and did maticulous work.

Very pleasant experience from salesperson to installer. Only reservation was extra cost to have their contracted plumber put in new sink and re-attach stove. I had hired my own plumber and reconnected the stove myself to save about 700.00 dollars.

I love this company! I had a great experience from start to finish. The salesperson was very knowledgeable about the different materials and colors we might like. She provided a very thorough estimate, and the job was completed within a shorter amount of time than originally discussed. I thought the price was better than that which could be found at larger stores, and the customer service was far superior, plus the quality was outstanding.

THE DESIGNER FROM THE COMPANY HELPED US CHOOSE A COLOR FOR THE TILE AND IT MATCHED PERFECTLY. THE WORK WAS EXPERTLY DONE, ON TIME AND AT A REASONABLE PRICE.
