I called for a yearly service check-up. The first technician to show up did a good job, he actually found a problem and was working hard to troubleshoot it. He did not have the expertise to figure out the problem and was on the phone to his home office trying to get help. He could not resolve the problem and had to leave but said someone would be in touch about setting up another appointment to fix the problem. So up to this point I was satisfied and just waiting for them to schedule another appointment. They never called back so I called them and setup an appointment. A another technician came out the second time and spent some time looking at the problem. After about 20 minutes or so he said I needed a new thermostat because the one I had was not compatible with my heating system. He quoted me a price of $1000.00 for the thermostat and that did not include installation. I just so happened to be in front of my computer at the time and looked up prices for thermostats, which ranged between $100.00 to $200.00 dollars. When I asked why his thermostat was so expensive he told me he was a business man and additional cost was due to markup. So that left me no choice but to get another opinion. The next company came out and looked at the problem and although it was not an easy problem to solve he correctly diagnosed the problem, which was a wiring issue at the furnace. He fixed the problem and I have had no problems since. The cost of the repair was the cost of a system tune-up. That company was All Weather Heating and Air who I highly recommend.

I was really impressed that they only charged me for this, even on a Saturday! I think they were very honest. I am signing up for a service contract with them.
Description of Work: I was having problems with my heat pump. I’d used another company the week before and they didn’t fix it correctly. They saw that the other company made a mistake by not plugging in a pump they were supposed to which is why it wasn’t working. They only charged me for the upfront inspection, rather than the service.
