They were responsive and professional, but their quote was too high.

I called he said he would be out. He would come out the next day he didn't show up. Two or three weeks later a guy named Jesus called and tried to fast talk me, it seems he gave my name to a friend and had them call me, was the impression I got.

The project was done well. The estimator showed up on schedule, examined the work site thoroughly, and provided a clear basis for his estimate. The construction team showed up on schedule, and with all equipment and materials needed. The construction team manager listened carefully and asked appropriate questions during the pre-work walk-through with the owner. The team completed the work ahead of schedule, and left the work site in an neat condition.

The previous owners provided funds to fix the closet, but we only had a limited time to get it fixed. We called several contractors, AMBH was the only one to show up later that same day we called them to do an estimate. Immediately we were impressed with their friendliness and professionalism. We explained our situation - that our funding was very limited and we only had a couple of weeks to get the job done. From the beginning they were willing and eager to work with us. I spoke to three other contractors and none of them would do the job for the funds that we had available. They took one look and immediately spotted the mold and suggested we get an official mold inspection. They suggested a licensed mold inspector which we used. Her results showed a super high level of a certain mold, this meant that it needed a full mold remediation. AMBH came in over a couple of days, they used plastic to seal away the rest of the basement, separating the closet, they set up fans to blow the air from the closet to the outside. They wore hazmat suits and scrubbed the whole place top to bottom. The whole time they were fantastic, super nice, constantly touching base with us so we always knew what was going on. They traced the moisture to a large crack where the driveway meets the house, they patched it and In the end we have a clean, mold free basement! We highly recommend AMBH!

No work was done but estimate experience was exceptional. I was serviced by Oscar-Sales and Byron-engineer. Oscar scoped out the area, discussed options, and presented other similar work already done by the company. Byron meanwhile drew the plans on his notebook and presented a possible look for the project before they left. They've promised a formal estimate with drawing within 72 hours but have not seen anything yet it has been a week. Looking forward to seeing the finished product soon.

I called America?s Best to come out and give me a quote on a remodel of my bathrooms. The bathrooms had quite a lot of mold and I wanted to have it taken care of. Oscar came out and took a look and suggested that due to the degree of mold that they start that weekend. America?s Best did a total remediation of the mold and build out of the bathrooms. The workers were very professional and the work was done very well. The project manager Javier; worked with me on every step, giving me daily updates on the progress of the job. They have surpassed my dreams. We are forward to them doing additional work around the house on upcoming projects.

Hello members I wrote a previous review about America's Best Home Improvement that was written without all the facts. I was contacted by the General Manager about a misunderstanding of the price to replace the patio. I guess I have been taken for so long on everything, I just blew. That's why I joined Angie's List so I could try to do a little homework before making final decisions on such important home improvement jobs. I want to apologize to the General Manager at America's Best Home Improvement for the unkind remarks please forgive me. Sincerely, Panella Rivera

Started as promised, polite and friendly, showed up daily, sometimes later than promised, but would call to let me know they were running behind, cleaned up daily. The bathroom looks 100 percent better. The job dragged on. The final cleanup was rather shoddy and I ended up having to do some of it myself after they left. Since it is a guest shower and not used much, when it was used a few times , we noticed it was leaking. When the company found out the shower was leaking Jose called and Byron came out the same day and identified the problem.

Great people to deal with but I found another contractor closer to my home.

I am very pleased with the work that was done at my house. What were my expectations? We badly needed all this work done and didn't know what to expect. They were recommended to me by a friend of mine who has used them on several occasions. I was impressed with their employees attention to detail, i.e., caulking the hot/cold handles on the tub, adding caulking around the top of the tile in the bathroom that my husband had done himself. When they came on my porch they immediately saw a need to use their staple gun on some of the panels that were loose. This was not part of the job but something they saw that needed to be corrected. Their employees are not afraid of hard work. They always showed up on time, often early and didn't mind my numerous questions. When they were wrapping this up I said to them why don't all of you go on, you have worked really hard. One of them replied "We stay until we get the job done". Hard to find that kind of dedication nowadays. I told them they could just tie up their two contractor bags of trash and leave it at my curb for pickup on Monday morning. They very nicely replied "No that's not necessary, that's our trash, we will take it away. I think the biggest compliment I can give this company is that in 1 1/2 years we are planning to gut our kitchen and one of our bathrooms. Instead of getting bids, I will just call them. I have seen the quality of their work and see no sense in going anywhere else.

My experience was one of the most satisfying working with the Team at America's Best . Specialty in an age when so many Companies don't seem to care about custome service . I would recommend America's Best to my family and frends

This is a truly phenomenal Company! Javier and Travis were incredible to work with!! They did everything in their power to ensure that I was happy with the end results. I had an issue with rotting trim and structure around my 18-year old hot tub and when they were finished, it looked like new. I am over-joyed when I get in the tub with how clean and finished it now looks. This was a tough job that other Companies did not want to take on! I also had new fencing put up around my walk-out basement to include a gate for my new puppy. Again, every detail--even down to putting up matching lights, a gate made-to-fit my puppy, a solar post lamp, touch ups to my concrete--was done with care and expertise!! I have never worked with a Company with such professionalism and diligence! I will use them again and again...for whatever repair needs I have around my home. I fully trust them and their crews and would highly recommend their work. It is a blessing to finally find a Company who cares and is all about customer satisfaction!! A++++++++++++ Company!!!

I was very pleased with the entire working relationship with America's Best. They seem like a very busy company but they were able to schedule my home for repair within a week of contacting them. They do a great job of communicating because I was always receiving calls from their sales person, Oscar, who would provide me updates on the project consistently. The price was a little more than I wanted to pay in the beginning so we were able to work out a lower price that was more in line with my budget. They did great work and they finished the project within 2 days! I will definitely be calling them back for my next big project!

The owner answered my call he seemed polite and reasonable, he sent his project manager to evaluate my property which took about an hour and a half. The project manager took "Supposed" notes of each floor of my home "supposedly" writing down exactly what i wanted done, even going so far as to remove a measurement ruler to measure parts of the house that i needed work done. The point i am trying to make is that the project manager was supposed to get back to me the following Monday, because this was thursday/friday when he came. Monday came and i did not hear from him, i understood because they run a business and sometimes people forget. I waited till wednesday then i called. 1. First of all he did not remember who i was. 2. Secondly, he gave me an estimate of $140,000 for a rehab project that another Angie's list contractor gave me an estimate of $59,000 for the same job (The NEW Contractor is almost done with the job and I'M HAPPY WITH HIS WORK). 3. Thirdly, the project manager could not provide the scope of work he "supposedly" spent an hour and a half to prepare. I asked him how he came to those numbers and he said he HAD EXPERT TRAINING. After i got upset, i spoke to the owner BUT first impressions last a lifetime....The owner offered to come himself BUT he said his price wasn't the lowest or the highest. MY QUESTION IS, AFTER YOU BECOME AWARE THAT YOUR PROJECT MANAGER MESSED UP........SHOULD "MONEY" BE THE FIRST THING ON YOUR MIND ??? RESPONSE TO CONTRACTORS STATEMENT: I CANCELLED MY TRIP because i was supposed to get work done at my house, I TOLD PROJECT MANAGER. HE REASSURED ME I WOULD GET ESTIMATE BY MONDAY. 1. IF YOU TOOK NOTES OF PROJECT THAT TOOK HOUR AND A HALF, HOW WOULDN'T YOU KNOW WHAT I WANTED ??? 2. HOW CAN YOU SAY I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WANTED ??? 3. WHO WOULDN'T BE UPSET WITH YOUR SERVICE ??? You ADMIT it took long, at least WE AGREE on something. PLEASE PROVIDE DATE AND TIMES THAT YOU "SUPPOSEDLY" CALLED ME ??? MY PHONE NEVER RANG FROM YOUR COMPANY, OR MAYBE YOU TEXTED ME ??? I'M CONFUSED ??? PLEASE PROVIDE DATE AND TIMES THAT YOU CALLED ??? IF YOU CAN PROVIDE PHONE RECORDS, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME ??? LET ME KNOW ???

We decided not use them because we went with the company our insurance company uses. They quoted us $5,000 on the website, but when once they came out it was $11,000. They said it was because it depended on the type of roof we had like we had shingles, but they did not mention all that in the website. I only dealt with him over the phone. I never saw him in person because when he came out I was not home. He came out, did the estimate on his own, called me, and e-mailed me the estimate. The quote is a lot different than what it said in the ad.

There was an occasional leak in one of my windows that I described to the staff at America's Best. I spoke with a person identified as Javier. He took my request and indicated that he would check into the schedule book. Either he or another employee would call me back and schedule an appointment. On the call back the other employee informed me that they had no employee willing to travel to my house to work on the repairs I had requested. The distance between their listed address and my house was 46.9 miles. Therefore they were not able to take my job and I had no further dealings with America's Best Home Improvement.

I consider myself a very picky and demanding client. I'm clear from the start on what I want and how I want it and expect nothing less than what I requested and agreed (almost perfection). We interviewed several contractors before deciding on Javier and his company. Some, I felt that I could not deal with them due to personality. Another one refused to install the bathtub we wanted and the other one wanted the moon and the stars for the job. Javier was the most professional, knowledgeable and patient with me and my projects. I bought many of the fixtures, cabinet, faucets, etc. in order to save money. Javier was fine with my ways and very patient and informative. Nothing less than perfect is ok with Javier. His job and attention to details was equal to none. He personally was on my job on a daily basis making sure I was happy with the progress. I felt very comfortable bringing to his attention every little detail I was not totally satisfied. Everything was taken care immediately. We are extremely happy with the way the master bath came and all the other projects he did for us. We have recommended him to others who are equally satisfied. There is no job too difficult or challenging for America's Best Home Improvement. We had our share of challenges and silly demands from the county inspectors during the job. Javier took care of everything. Peace of mind, knowing that the job will be done perfectly. His price was the best, and we could not be happier. The other aspect that we really liked is that Javier stands by his job. Almost a year later we called him to take care of a minor issue we uncovered and he came back promptly and took care of it with no additional charge.

I contacted America's Best after our plumber referred me to them. The plumbing repair was to one of our main drain pipes and the plumber had to remove a fair amount of non-structural wood framing in our basement as well as some drywall in both our basement and our first floor dining room on account of where the plumbing problem existed. My plumber referred me to Javier and America's Best whom my plumber had consulted with before removing the wood framing to make sure repairing it would be as least costly as possible. Shortly after completing the plumbing repair, I called Javier and left him a voicemail. He returned my call later that day and set up a time to come out, take a look, and give me an estimate. After the estimate came in, Javier's partner, Byron, and another guy came out the next day to do the repairs. They were at my home for the better part of a day. I wasn't at home, but my father was, and he was very impressed with their work. Upon arriving home from work, my walls looked fantastic. If I didn't know the plumbing repair had been done, It would be virtually impossible to notice that the walls had been repaired. Looks great, and I am very pleased.

After being provided with a quote and making payment with a major credit card, a little more than a week later I was informed they did not accept this form of payment. My sales guy called his office to confirm this form of payment is accepted before taking payment. Because of their error, I was told the window will not be ordered until a different form of payment could be submitted and my install date will be pushed back. Also at this time, I was informed that the window would take longer to install because of manufacturer schedules. I ordered a similar window that would still meet my HOA specs and would be available sooner. The installation crew missed the scheduled appointment window. After missing their appointment window, I contacted the office. They informed me that the crew showed up before the confirmed appointment time. The crew left without leaving a note or contacting me, so I had no clue if they stopped by. The installers arrived about 90 minutes later and they were not aware they needed to make framing repair and started installing the window. I called the sales guy and he came out to complete the framing repair after the window was partially installed. I have had no issues with this window since the repair was completed. Cosmetically, the window looks great from both the inside and outside.

Byron came out to provide an estimate for the work. I should note that I contacted several providers from Angie's List and ABHI was the only company to respond. The work was done and I am more than satisfied! Byron was flexible, professional, and knowledgeable! During the final walk through of the work, Byron and Javier saw some areas of concern and offered some solutions to the basement issues at a very good rate! They are honest and it appears that they have their customers best interest in mind. I look forward to working with them in the very near future! I would recommend their work to anyone who needs work done in their home.

Overall, I'm glad that I reconsidered using America's Best. It was definitely the best decision I made. They even looked at my roof and stated that due to the deterioration and condition of my roof and side boards, they recommend that I fix it immediately because there were signs of a little bit of water leaking in which may also cause mold. So, I received a call from the CEO of America's Best and will call tomorrow to schedule someone to come and give me an estimate of all damages!!

I contacted the vendor on approx. 1/25 for an estimate. After negotiation, they came to my house on Monday 1/28. He did a great job inspecting my oven area and even sprayed to kill and prevent any existing mold from growing. He said that he would email me the estimate in 2-3 days. After 4 days, I contacted the vendor to see if he had sent the estimate. He apologized and stated that I had several other customers in front of me. I wish he would've said that initially instead of giving me a 2-3 day window. He then stated that he would send the estimate Saturday or Sunday. To date, 2/15, I have yet to receive an estimate or any type of communication or follow-up from the vendor. The guy who came out was really nice, but that's as far as that goes. I think it is very unprofessional for them to not call or send me the estimate. I've even checked my spam to make sure they didn't send it :( Now, I'm stuck with black mold and in the process of finding another vender :(

My husband sent numerous emails and made several calls from Sept through Nov. and had difficulty getting a detailed estimate. We would make appointments and the contractor would either reschedule or come late. I went online myself and research concrete pour, flagstone and various railing examples and sent them to him since he seemed unable to give us examples or samples. This still did not seem to help in expediting a more detailed estimate of materials and cost so out of frustration we scheduled an appointment, took off work and waited. He did not show up or call. We rescheduled for the next day and again he was unable to come. It cost us approx. $300 in lost wages for the time taken off to meet with them. A few day later both the contractor and the owner came and we spent a couple of hours and finally we decided to split the two parts into different contracts so they could get started on the door repair and we could get additional pricing on materials for the flagstone and railing. Both gentlemen seemed knowledgeable and friendly and we thought we were finally on the same page. The estimate that came was still vague and seemed very high. After backing out the purchase of a flagstone slab that was not necessary and eliminating permitting and engineering drawings (my husband took care of those) the estimate seemed more appropriate. However, during all the delays and communication issues, we had received an additional detailed estimate from another more responsive contractor (who is also on Angie's List) and decided that under the circumstances we were more comfortable contracting them to do the work. My recommendation would be to research material before hand, ask for a very detailed breakdown of cost for material and labor signed by the owner and be persistent that appointments be kept. At the first sign of delays trying to get a real estimate, don't waste your time walk away. This company may have done a good job but after months of frustration we were not will to take the chance.

On all of the project / work or handy man requests: Javier ensures that he completely understands not only our needs & requests - but makes suggestions to enhance what we are looking for! He ensures we understand all of our options and presents us with ideas to choose from. We are aware of costs prior to the project beginning - and there has never been a "surprise" at the end of the work. His estimates have always been spot on - and very reasonable. His team are professional and courteous. They do a wonderful job completing the work on time and ensuring our home is clean once they complete. He is a perfectionist and ensures everything exceeds expectations.
