Service was great. We got into a misunderstanding about the work that needed to be done has all business transactions usually do. Worked it out and everything was fine. I would only say make sure whatever you want done put it in the contract.

I was looking to purchase a property that needed significant work. They came to the property, did a walk-through with me, and came back with a punch list of work that needed to be done and pricing. Unfortunately, the purchase did not go through. Otherwise, i would have absolutely used them. They were great. I would recommend them to anybody.

They did fine. They found places that needed caulking and a strip that had come loose. They repaired the loose strip and caulked around it to prevent leaks.

I had water damage in my basement from my neighbor's pipe burst. I called in another company to do the remediation, but had I known Javier from America's best at that time, I would have gotten them to do EVERYTHING from A to Z. After waiting around with what seemed FOREVER with the remediation company, I called Javier to see if he could do my job. I had to wait a bit because he has a thriving business and everyone wants his services. (i understand why). He came in to give me an estimate on fixing my mold issue, reconstructing my walls, re-carpeting and re-flooring. He really listened to what I wanted, and gave me different options and materials to choose from. He answered all my calls and all my questions. His team was at my house every morning promptly at 8:30 a.m. ready to work. His team are not only GREAT workers and really know their stuff but they are courteous, respectful and kind. Great people. Javier was at the job site everyday checking to make sure things were done correctly and to answer any questions. He delivered on EVERYTHING he promised, always ensuring I was happy with the work. I would recommend him to ANY of my friends or family. He will be my first call for any and all future projects. I just hope he has the time to do my job, he is so busy because he's so good :) GREAT COMPANY and people!

ABHI was incredible. First, their estimator, Oscar, was the most thorough of all the bids we got (we got 8). He came on time and spent two hours going through the house measuring everything. Their price wasn't the cheapest but it was also very reasonable (maybe 15% more expensive than the lowest one we got). In addition, their resulting contract was very thorough and left nothing up to question. It just get better from there. Once we signed with them, they started a week ahead of schedule. While our contract was just for labor, they also bought all of the materials for us and passed on their discounts. Having worked with other contractors, it was great to see a contractor who actually cared about keeping our budget in check. Their service was consistently superb. When it snowed and we were out of town, they even sent someone to come and shovel the sidewalks. Javier, the owner, would constantly reply to late-night emails, calls, and text and was always available and accessible. Finally, the quality of work was great. The house looks fantastic and the attention to detail was great. Even little things (like knicks on the wall) were tackled without us asking. I could not recommend them enough.

ABHI Rescued My Renovation Javier Hernandez/ America?s Best Home Improvement (ABHI) are the U.S. equivalent of Mike Holmes the Canadian contractor on the DIY Network show ?Holmes Makes It Right?. He was willing to take on a botched, improperly done house project and complete the work. ABHI really did rescue my renovation project and I am truly grateful! A 1950?s single story house was expanded (taking the existing carport space ? other space was supposed to be used, but that was one of the mistakes made by the previous contractor), totally gutted on the inside and then reframed before I signed a contract with ABHI to finish the renovation. A few ?contractor? type details have been omitted for brevity. Much of the work done to that point wasn?t done properly (per County Inspectors and 203K Loan Inspectors) like a lousy siding job, concrete not leveled after pouring, plumbing pipes run in strange ways, electrical work described as "strange", etc. Being two hours away from the project and traveling for my job, I did a terrible job of picking the first contractor and the cord should have been cut sooner. It?s very difficult to find a contractor willing to come in after another contractor has been fired and complete an extensive renovation project. They were willing to take on finishing a job where plumbing was done ? concrete poured over it ? without knowing for sure the quality of that work. They also fixed obvious stupidity like running bathroom pipes from the middle of the house to an outside wall! I was lucky enough to get a contractor/firm willing to take on a project like that and not taking advantage of the situation by charging me a great deal more to finish the job as many others might have. The previous contractor was supposed to replace flooring in all areas except the kitchen but they tore out the kitchen flooring. ABHI put my kitchen back together. ABHI had to pull new permits which in some cases meant agreeing to be responsible for all previous work done as ABHI?s electrician did. Because of the rather remote location of this project, additional costs were incurred but not passed along to me. Like previous reviews, ABHI did many things that they could have charged me for but did not. One example of work done that was not in their contract was adding shut off valves in the hall bathroom, HWH, main plumbing coming into the house and even shut offs to a master bath not in the ABHI contract to complete because of lack of funds. Javier has the perfect temperament for a contractor. If something needs to be fixed, he?s very receptive and does not take things personally and he?s not in denial. He?s very picky about work quality. He pointed out things that needed to be touched up that I hadn?t even noticed. You can tell that he has good interaction/relationships with his workers. If he said someone would be there on a particular day/time, they were there. Javier is always accessible. But he also has no problem questioning choices/selections to make sure that you understand the reality of what you want. He understands that customers generally are not trained contractors or architects and what you may like because it looks great in a magazine, may not work for the space or may not be practical for your purpose. He wouldn't just do/install what you want and then when you aren?t happy say ?well ? that?s what you picked/asked for.? Oscar is the sales person that I first interacted with when I contacted ABHI. He could not be a better representative for ABHI. Terrific personality, always reachable for questions, just a great person for that side of the business ? not overly technical and he pays attention to what you want. Months went by between my first contact with Oscar and subsequent interactions leading to my hiring ABHI. When I initially wanted to fire the previous contractor (before the framing stage), my renovation loan bank rep thought that in his experience I would not be able to find someone to finish my project at any reasonable price and I would be better off trying to work with the previous contractor to try to get the job finished, even volunteering to help keep an eye on them - the work quality - and keep the project on track - but that just was not possible. When I contacted Oscar again after a couple of months, he remembered me and even asked in a joking way where I had been all that time. He made it seem more like hearing from an old friend after a long time ? not like ?she?s wasting my time again.? I was surprised when in separate interactions with both Javier and Oscar, they both made suggestions on ways to save money by telling me ?You don?t need a new xyz, we can paint this or fix this.? The ABHI crew worked from early morning and many times until late in the evening doing quality work. They also think before they do something. My bathroom is blue and white. I bought a bathroom mirror from Home Depot. The box said the mirror was white. When the worker took the mirror out of the box, it was brown. He didn?t just put it up. He used good judgement and asked if I really wanted a brown mirror in a blue and white bathroom. I did not. Rather than returning the mirror, Javier asked him to paint the mirror white which I greatly appreciated. I wish I could mention everyone on the crew by name. They deserve a shout-out! Deborah in the business office is a joy to work with even assisting with HUD 203K paperwork (which can be a pain) and just generally being pleasant and helpful during our interactions. A nice touch is that ABHI has a crew that will clean your house after their work ends on an interior project. Javier/ABHI are already on notice that I have other projects (finish master bath/screened porch) that I will be calling them to complete. I would not consider calling anyone else!

I was satisfied and okay with the price. The job should have been finished much sooner than it was finished. I would not use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

$13,000 estimate for a $2,000 to $5,000 back yard paver job. Even more ridiculous was a $10,000 estimate for a concrete resurfacing of (1) front door step that cost $500 to $1000. I'm sure they get a lot of old people with pensions and a lot wealthy people that don't really care about price. Shop around for a reasonable estimate before you sign the paperwork. A total waste of time, I must of have had a "fool" sign on my forehead.

Quick response after I called and left initial message. Very good customer service. I was encouraged to call for anything. Workers did excellent work and cleaned up after themselves. I can say enough about the customer service service. I am pleased with everything and if you are looking for a contractor and are reading this review then read no further Americas Best is the way to go!

Extremely well, Throughout their time here, they were extremely responsive to any emails or phone calls I made. The workers were punctual, courteous, professional and were very careful with my things and took great caution to cover items and protect them. They cleaned up well after each day and it was a pleasure to have them in my home. The workmanship was excellent.

I used Javier Hernandez' company last year and was so thrilled that I so no reason to put out bids to remodel my kitchen. I wanted them back and they did not disappoint me. Javier has a knack for knowing what the customer wants and he did not disappoint me. The thing I like about his employees is that they are on time. If there is a problem, they will call and keep me apprised of any time changes. His employees work "from sun up to sun down". There were a few days where I really don't think they stopped for a lunch break. They just ate their lunch and kept working. I find his employees to be completely trustworthy and several times I left the house for a couple of hours. I never had a worry. I also am impressed with their attention to detail. Just before Miller and Roberto left on the last day, Roberto decided to look underneath the sink and saw that a hose that was properly installed could quite possibly cause a problem. He went to his tool box and retrieved a clamp which he fastened the hose to the interior wall. That way, a potential problem was averted. Miller and Roberto also hid my cable line within the wall in the kitchen so that all we had to do was provide an outlet to hook it up to. That is what I mean about attention to detail. I also have high praise for Pablo, the man who came to install the granite. He came in on a Thursday evening to take all his measurements and returned the next day to install it. I don't think it took him and his crew more than 3 hours to do the job. As is Americas Best's custom, they left the work area cleaner than when they came. In a year and a half, I am planning to have my two bathrooms gutted and redone. I will be calling them.

They were extremely responsive and professional. The workmanship was impeccable and the workers worked non stop until they completed the work. They even gave an extra coat of paint because the first coat didn't look good enough although my contract was not for two coats. They used discarded doors from my newly installed kitchen cabinet to create doors around my radiator that looks so polished and perfect that is seems as if it was part of my original kitchen cabinetry. They did many extras that were not in the contract and left my place cleaner than it was when they got here. I would use these guys again in a split second. I thought their price was extremely reasonable, especially for all the extra things they did and the little details they paid attention to.

All work was completed sooner than predicted and the site was left clean. We had minimal repair to do to the lawn on both sides of the driveway. There was a bit of delay when Miss Utility was late marking the utility lines and a scheduling problem with the cement truck, but that was quickly resolved; so negligible. We would highly recommend working with America's Best Home Improvement for replacing a driveway. We are really enjoying our new wider driveway and the neighbors have all told us how much they like it too. I'd love to post a picture of it, if I could figure out how to do it here. America's Best does all kinds of contract work for homes. While they were here, we also got an estimate for a bathroom upgrade. Both their bathroom and driveway estimates were the lowest of the 3 we obtained for each job. The bathroom upgrade has been put on a back burner, but we wouldn't hesitate to have the work done by America's Best. If you get a new driveway, patio or sidewalk, don't forget to ask for sealer to be applied.

Nobody showed up so I called 5 minutes after 1 to see where they were. I didn't have the Oscar's (tech) number to contact him, so I contacted the Javier. Oscar then contacted me and informed me they were cancelling all appointments for today. He was unprofessional when trying to reschedule. I called Javier to inform him I would be reporting this. He also agreed it was unprofessional.

America's Best was the third company on our list to present a proposal to perform the work. We were impressed with the comprehensive assessment of the mold and water problems in our basement. We compared their proposal to the other two companies, checked out their estimated cost with our bank and selected them. We are very satisfied with the quality of workmanship and especially their quick response to correct subsequent minor issues that were not part of the agreement, at no additional cost. During the time they were in our home they took great care to do the work on a timely schedule and to clean up all debris.The workers were respectful and competent.

After having had some negative experience with other contractors I DREADED that we needed to find someone to redo our driveway.. However I consider this company a hidden treasure !! I can't say enough about Javier the owner. He restored my faith in good , honest trustworthy people still out there that take pride in their work and in their name being represented , His workers ALWAYS punctual , professional and so respectful of you and your home . They always cleanup and put away their equipment up even though coming back just so their stuff not in your way, great quality work! I have other projects coming up and am so grateful I don't have to hunt for someone to do them because I will always come back to Javier and his great work. Now looking forward to those projects I have postponed. You won't need to look further if u are looking for someone with great work ethic, great quality work and integrity you don't need to look further than Javier and his company. You will be glad you did

The work, from beginning to end, was absolutely professional, timely, and accurate to cost estimate. The attention to detail by all of the workers was particularly impressive. As unforeseen problems arose, the solutions were always done he right way rather than the fast way and many tasks were accomplished with no addition to the bill. The tile workers were extremely talented and hardworking. A fun group of guys who enjoyed their work. They cleaned up every day as much as possible and took extra care to cover and isolate rooms and furniture. When all was finished, a professional cleaner came in and finished the job. I couldn't be happier with any company. I already have a few future projects lined up with them. Just a heads up -- if you are looking to use them, book early. They are very busy.

Javier and his crew were outstanding. After we had some significant water damage due to a burst pipe, they came in and repaired the ceiling in both the living room and garage, took down and re-insulated some ductwork in the garage, and replaced the hardwood floor throughout the living room floor. Although Javier isn't around while the work is being done, he has a great set group of workers who stayed on task the entire day. They coordinated well to get the work done, which was a little difficult since they had to do the floors and ceiling in the same space at the same time. Now that the work has been finished, I can easily say that it looks like the water damage never happened at all. The only way I can tell is that Javier chose a slightly different - but definitely better - hardwood; the floor looks and feels nicer, and has a lot more character to it. Unrelated to the repair work, Javier also had his men fix a window that had been leaking for over a year and a half because it had been installed incorrectly. He was kind enough to fix it as a gift to my wife and I, who were getting married the week after they were doing the work. Also, because he knew we were getting married, Javier made sure that the work was completed ahead of time, even having his workers work on weekends when they normally don't. In a word, terrific. Javier is kind and understanding, and his workers are nothing short of excellent. I will definitely, definitely use them again in the future when other work comes up.

Went very well! The security door was a custom size, so in order to not have to custom order the door, they cut apart the standard size, and welded it back together a bit smaller. It looks fantastic - you'd never know. They were very responsive to our requests and constantly asking if there were any tweaks we would like them to make. When it turned out to be a more involved project, they kept to the original estimate. All in all highly recommended.

Fantastic Job! Javier and his team were fast and efficient. They came prior to the arrival of the plumbers to remove the original hard wood floors in my cap hill row house so that a sewer line under the house could be repaired. After the plumbers finished their work, they came back to reinstall the floor and refinish the whole room. Unfortunately, some of the "90+ year old" slats broke during removal, however, Javier was diligent in obtaining new wood and mixing stains so that it would match the old. After they completed refinishing the floor, I could barely tell that a 4ftx15ft section had been removed. Fantastic attention to detail and a willingness to go above and beyond to make sure the work was of the highest quality. Obviously a company that cares more about their reputation than making a quick buck. I couldn't be more pleased with the work and would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Oscar informed me that the concrete steps and walkway were stable and although there were cracks there was no reason to re-do the steps or walkway. In fact, he said to do so would be a waste of my money. He provided me with several solutions to fix the problem I was having (i.e., cracks large enough for garden snakes and gophers) which saved me a great deal of money. He also phoned me a week or so later and provided me with information and cost on the repair of the window at the front of my residence.

First I want to say they went above and beyond by installing the outlets and the fixtures. Thank you. Now, for the paint job. We were originally told that they use only McKormick paint and that the colors I chose would be duplicated. When they brought the color fan for us to see, the colors weren't compatible with what I had chosen, so the decision was made to purchase my paint color choices which were Valspar and Olympic colors. They repaired the cracks in the ceiling and filled the holes in the walls, primed walls and commenced to painting. We noticed that some of the lines were not straight in the corners and we showed them this and they said it's as straight as it can get...why didn't they use tape? Wood work was to be painted, isn't the fireplace mantle and surround considered part of the wood work? The painters arrived on time but could not start until thier supervisor showed up and he was late on some days. One the first day one of the painters was in a hurry to leave that he drove over our lawn in order to get around his supervisors car. I was truly angry about this when my husband told me. When the painters were "done" we did a walk through and found some things that weren't to our satisfaction, like holes that were not filled, sanded and painted, and the air returns not painted. It was at this point that the supervisors had to do the painting and patching and this is when I was ready to throw them out, This was my first experience with contractors and it was not a good one. Why were the supervisors doing the work instead of the painters at the last minute? The owner did gave us back 200.00 of the 4600.00 that we paid them.

Unfortunatley, we lost the property but the work and detail tha was given makes ABHI the Number 1 contractors I will deal with for any work being done on my property!!!

When calling prospective contractors, I was concerned with their ability to work independently as I live an hour and a half from the property. I told Javier up front that I would need to work by phone and text for the most part. He said that was no problem. I met him at the property and we walked around the house to discuss what I wanted done. When there was a question, he offered solutions for me to pick from. He also made some really good suggestions for things I had not thought of. A few days later he had a price for me which was just within my budget. After signing the contract, his team started the work a few days later. They really moved quickly! Most days he had a crew of several workers doing a multitude of tasks at the same time. The work progressed very quickly. When minor issues were found, he had his crew correct them and only charged me for the extra materials when they were not already on hand. Then Javier impressed me further by finishing the job three weeks early. The work was done professionally and made the final inspection very easy to do. He had the few minor details quickly corrected. Overall, the experience I had with Javier and ABHI was very positive. Javier proved to be very easy to work with and is really good about staying in communication. Things went so well that I'm currently working with him on an even larger project. Steve
