This started in May, when I emailed. It took a longtime to get a reply. I sent a query through their website, left phone messages, and emailed. Eventually I heard back. More time went by. Eventually Troy came to take a look. He cut out the bluestone and found a crack under it, in the path's foundation. He said he'd put it back "temporarily," and send me a proposal to fix it for real. Again, weeks go by. I emailed, called, sent queries through the web page. Eventually he emailed me with a price. I asked for a proposal and a date. Nothing heard. I have moved on to a "real" company - a large one that replies and is transparent and above board. I know that it's a strange time, but if a company is too busy to take on new work, say so. If the job is too small, say so. Just don't not respond, especially when you had done work for this customer in the past. I cannot recommend Troy's company. His actions since May with regard to this work we need done have been completely unprofessional. The whole experience has been very disappointing.
Description of Work: A large piece of bluestone in our front walkway is loose. TN Masonry had re-set it in 2018. We wanted to hire them to re-do it.

[Member Name Removed], It’s unfortunate that you’re giving our company this rating. Let us start by saying we were originally hired in 2017 for a small re-pointing job. We always advise our clients that re-pointing jobs are temporary fixes. You contacted us 3 year later about a loose stone [Member Information Removed] we did answer you (in the middle of a pandemic [Member Information Removed] with work piling in) as well as scheduled a time to come out to address this at NO cost. To be the most fair, we do not put certain clients before others. The reason there was a long wait time [Member Information Removed] lag is, because we have current customers [Member Information Removed] a schedule we’re trying to stick to even during the challenges of the pandemic/weather. When we came out to address the loose stone, we found that there was an underlying issue that needed to be addressed (that had nothing to do with the original re-pointing job). We explained to you what the issue was [Member Information Removed] took photos. You asked for a price for a fix [Member Information Removed] we gave you one, but also advised you should go ahead [Member Information Removed] hire another company if we cannot meet your expectation of a completion date. We are pleased to hear that you have hired another company, but please be sure to disclose complete facts when providing a review. We are a company that answered your call/emails, came out to give you a fix for a loose stone at no cost, [Member Information Removed] identified an issue that had nothing to do with the work we did for you 3 years after we did a re-pointing job. That is excellent customer service. If anyone has any questions, we have all email exchanges with [Member Name Removed]. We are a small business that takes pride in what we do [Member Information Removed] will provide full transparency. We also have a complete list of builders, current/former contractors, [Member Information Removed] developers that can also provide references.

Troy initially visited and wrote up a very professional contract, detailed what kind of materials would be used and what work was to be done. David, the brother of Troy, was the person in charge on the ground. He is a nice fellow and a hard worker. The crew was impressive and worked together efficiently. They finished the job by the end of the afternoon. David showed me what they had done and Troy called to let me know that they had photos of the top of the chimney to send. I was pleased with the quality of the work and the friendliness of the whole crew. This is the kind of company you hope for. They tell you what is to be done in detail, specify the materials, and bring a large crew to quickly do quality work. I had other quotes which were lower, but did not specify in detail what work was to be done and what materials would be used. The professionalism of the initial contract convinced me that this company would do a great job. I am completely satisfied.
Description of Work: The top of the chimney needed to be ground off and re-poured. Also, repointing was needed for a portion of the chimney.

From first contact to clean-up, Troy and the guys at TN Masonry were true professionals. I got a referral for TN Masonry from a Baltimore based chimney sweep, and emailed Troy an explanation of our problem along with a picture of our dangerously slanted brick chimney. He replied quickly (by email! So convenient!) with a very fair estimate, and we were able to set up a date for the work within 3 weeks. Barring one delay because of snow (which made the job-site extra hazardous), work began promptly. The crew were courteous, safe, and efficient, and in only a few days we had a brand new (and beautiful!) brick chimney. Will definitely be using TN Masonry for my next masonry project.
Description of Work: Replaced a badly leaning brick chimney from the roof up.

TN Masonry crew were excellent. They came out to give in estimate within a few days of our original request. Our home is a bit unusual. It is a 1920 Dutch Colonial that has a sunroom in front of the chimney. Clearly, an addition that likely was not included when the home was originally built. This presented challenges because, while the tin roof covering this addition is sturdy, they explained to me that it likely would have been damaged had they placed scaffolding directly on top of it. What they did was brilliant. They stacked scaffolding on the drive way next to this sun room and bridged over to the chimney in order to rebuild it and fix a crack where the chimney connects to the house. For the crack that was about mid-way up the stack, they used ladders to fix. It looks amazing. Clearly, these guys are artisans and professionals. In fact, we are considering having them paint the stucco and have a couple of other minor repairs (crumbling basement access and front porch brick pointing) we may use them to fix. This company is well reviewed and they book early. In our case, mother nature (i.e. all of the rain we recently had and a family health issue on our end) caused a few delays. But we knew once they arrived and got things going that it was well worth the wait. Their work is that good. Regarding pricing, of the ten estimates that we got, only five gave us a written estimate/contract (the other five masons never gave us an estimate after seeing the scope of the work). Of the five that provided an estimate, we found the most value in the one that TN Masonry submitted. One other company wanted nearly twice TN Masonry's estimate, did not come out until a month after the original request to give us their estimate, and they were not as well reviewed as TN Masonry was. Stop searching, use this company. You won't be disappointed.

We were very happy with the work . Our repair required that they reinforce stucco on our older home as foundation cement used was very porous. The team that arrived was very courteous and gave us updates throughout job. Great clean up after job was completed.

It was fine. They did really good work. It was sometimes a little slow because they were jugging multiple jobs. We were able to cope with that and I would recommend them. They did beautiful work.

Description of Work: They repaired a stucco arch over our driveway that had been badly damaged. Troy came out and assured us they could do the work, and quickly. The work was done on time and within budget, and the end result is perfect, and better than the original arch.

Troy Neville had people working with him (his dad and brother were two of them). However he was always ready to talk with me about the project. He was often on site and supervised all work for completion and quality. There were many details to this project that came up during the work. For example, to excavate the area more completely, the ac unit had to be moved. It could have been propped up to keep it from falling into the work site, but Troy doesn't work that way. An electrician moved the unit and then reconnected it after the work was done. Troy never mentioned more money for this. This young man is amazingly skilled and detail oriented. As of this moment, there is no evidence of the amount of work that had to be done. The lawn looks great. I had three estimates that were in the same range. Only Troy's included moving the ac, reinstalling a fence on top of the wall and preserving the existing steps. I show all my friends this wall . All are impressed with the workmanship. This project was more successful than I could have imagined.
Description of Work: Demo and dispose of basement stairwell wall which was caving in. Built a wall with concrete footer, rebar for reinforcement and block. The width of the wall was doubled to improve wall strength. Wall was waterproofed. A drain was installed to relieve water pressure on wall. All debris was removed. The lawn was reseeded and covered with straw to allow new grass to develop.

Mr. Neville was very professional. He arrived on time, gave written estimate, showed samples, made helpful recommendations regarding color. He used good technique, put up wire mesh so stucco would adhere well. All work was completed in a timely manner, especially considering how bad the weather was. the whole process was very easy.
Description of Work: Removed crumbling stucco covering on foundation, made repairs, applied new stucco. Buried rain spout underground to drain away from house.

Troy was on time, helped move items, explained the process and materials thoroughly, gave advance notice of what to expect, charged a reasonable fee. Went above and beyond job by pointing out other areas where repairs were warranted.
Description of Work: Different masonry jobs. Installed new flagstone patio, new concrete floor in basement and crawlspace, installed sump pump, stuccoed basement walls and painted.
