We had contracted with this company for a deck and decided to go ahead and also get a bid on finishing the basement. Jeff Slutzker handles the outside deck jobs and Mark Pickus handles inside construction including basements. The bathroom was already finished by the builder so the job was to finish off approximately 1000 sq. ft. of space in the basement to make it into a home theater with an exercise area and storage. We decided to do our own electrical wiring and lights but Mark did bring in his electrician to help with the inspections. They kept the project on time and worked around our schedule which was not an easy task since we were out of town half the time. They also had the winter snow storms to contend with. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves downstairs although it turned out the furnace filter door was bent and allowed basement air to circulate into the upstairs which blew a minor amount of dust up into the rest of the house. Excellent workmanship; we would definitely recommend them and use them again. When there were problems, Mark took care of them personnally and didn't charge us when we made minor changes. Great group to work with. We were able to get a custom designed and painted basement with surrounding chair rail, a walk in double door closet under the stairs and upgraded carpeting (bought separately) for much less than the builder's price.

We contracted to have composite deck added to a new townhouse. The cost was half the price the builder charged for a deck and they used good materials. Jeff coordinated the deck being built with our schedule since we go back and forth between two homes. It only took a few days to build - the only delay being the county inspectors needed to come out and inspect the footings. They went ahead and built the rest of the deck while waiting for the inspectors to come so it was very efficient. Great people to work with and they have done most of the decks and screened porches in the neighborhood. Everyone is happy with their work.

I have used Homecraft for several household projects in the past (replacement deck, replacement roof/gutters). I have always been extremely pleased with the quality of the work and with the caring attitude of the workmen. The 2 installers on this project were very pleasant and took measures to keep my home relatively clean during the installation process-- covering floors, televisions, etc. Jeff came by on both days to make sure the project was going as planned. I have had several neighbors complement me on the appearance of the new windows and I have a feeling that Homecraft will be installing more windows in my development. I am quite satisfied with the end result. These Alside Excalibur windows are not only much more energy efficient than my previous windows, but they also cut down on outside noises. In addition, the windows fold in to make cleaning so much easier. I greatly appreciate the line of windows and sliding glass doors that were recommended to me by Homecraft. I was again very satisfied with the installation process and I am happy with the final result. Thank you Homecraft!

Jeff Slutzker, vice president of the company, provided composite samples to choose from and a book of samples of completed projects. He was very polite, professional and was very punctual. His team of workers were courteous and were meticulous in their workmanship. Each day they cleaned up the area and were very punctual. Jeff and his crew answered all questions I had concerning the project and tips/suggestions for upkeep. The project was completed in a timely fashion. I was very pleased with with quality of the work provided and professionalism extend to me and my wife..

The team came on time, worked hard and fast, safely and politely. I was informed every step of the way what was going to happen. They protected my hard wood floors and left with nothing damaged! I especially enjoyed working with Marc and Jeff because of their "can do" attitude. They listened to what I wanted and found a way to do it!! They were confident, communicative with dates when people were coming to measure and put the windows in and put no pressure on me. The windows made things quieter inside the home. Interesting. Marc and Mike came every day - not too early, which was great for my sleeping in! They passed every inspection with flying colors and did VERY good quality work, pleasant to have around, with good humor, always concerned if their music was too loud or if I needed something. They went beyond the call of duty bringing in my garbage cans, taking off our large ugly antenna and even bringing in my grocery bags! Marc suggested a change in the outside shingles that made it look nicer and absorbed the extra cost. Mike kept saying "I don't do any work that I wouldn't do for myself." It's true.. they did careful, great, quality work and I'm so proud of my new deck and sunroom. It's going to help my arthritis so much. Thanks, guys for taking extra good care of my project from beginning to end.... alj

The work was done promptly, professionally and on time. When removing the old deck, they removed/cut down large roots from previous landscaping, which was more than we requested. They removed all the rotting wood and landscaping. When putting up the new deck, the workers were extremely courteous and worked long hours each day. They were especially nice to my son and even helped collect toys in the backyard when the lawn mowing people came. When the deck was completed, they made us a very nice, professionally done bench using the deck materials which added a lot to the look of the deck. All equipment and materials were cleaned up and removed promplty at the end of the job, and they were very neat during the job. We were very pleased with the job and couldn't have asked for more in terms of service and finished product. They went above and beyond expectations. We have received lots of complements on our deck and have referred our friends and neighbors to this company.

Overall, Homecraft did an amazing job on a large project. I would recommend them to anyone needing a deck and plan on using them again on projects inside the house. The original project was to try and salvage some of the old deck for cost purposes but when Mark came out he recommended a full demolish. They worked with my budget but did not cut any corners.

The estimate was professionally done. Recommendations were made as to aesthetics as opposed to puffing up the price. The work was done in a timely manner. Three weeks after the work was done, I noticed my existing wooden steps leading to deck was cracked on a single board. The crack was large and I didn't know when it happened. Marc Pickus came out to look at it and fixed it within 2 days no charge.

The job went very well. Jeff was careful not to damage our back yard with materials or vehicles. The crew was polite and worked hard. They completed the job exactly as we requested and in some instances went beyond the quoted job. They repaired a part of a screened porch that came loose during a wind storm and they removed additional debris from under the deck. We are very pleased with Homecraft and with the rebuilt deck. Their price was lower than other bids and the guys did a quality job.

Professional, always on time. Did exactly what he promised. Considerate of neighbors. He also arranged through a third party to have a concrete patio installed below the deck. I'm not sure what could have gone wrong, but usually with any project, something does, but not with this installation. I couldn't be happier with the result or with Jeff's professionalism. This was not a big job, but he treated it like it was. He seems genuinely proud to do good work and I feel lucky to have found him.

I chose this company based on Angie's List ratings and comments, and am very pleased with my choice. Jeff was very pleasant and easy to work with throughout the process. He came with a very detailed color portfolio of past jobs, licenses, and insurance coverage. From the start, I could tell he was very organized. He made an excellent recommendation regarding moving the steps from the center to the side, which gives the deck a much larger feel. He installed the floorboards on a diagonal at no extra cost, although other bidders charged extra for this feature. The dumpster company did minor damage to my lawn as well as my neighbors', and Jeff subtracted the cost of the repair from my bill. It is obvious that this company takes pride in its workmanship. I highly recommend them and would be happy to use them again for future projects.

Jeff returned my calls promptly, made sure that the neighbors were happy when the crew needed to move through their yards, and cleaned up the job site. I am thrilled with the results. The deck is super-strong, looks great, and was affordable.

Homecraft cost me lots of money and never showed up.

Originally contacted Homecraft based solely on the positive reports here on Angie's List - and they did a superb job. Compared their proposal and price with another contractor and Homecraft offered the best value for the work. Construction is sound and the finished product looks great (my neighbors are a bit jealous!). Highly recommend them and will use them for future projects.

My wife and I want to commend Jeff and his staff for the outstanding job on our deck. Jeff had to put on an extra crew over the weekend to finish our deck in time for the family picnic we were planning. We are very happy with the quality of workmanship, the care taken at the work site to keep things tidy, and the prompt follow up after the job was completed. The attention to our wishes and the suggestions made to us in the design of our new deck were really appreciated. Jeff know's how to take care of his customers and knows it pays off in the long run. I recommend Homecraft to any one who is thinking about a new deck or other home improvements.

The process was quite smooth with Homecraft removing all trash, showing up when scheduled, and helping me with the design of the deck. I dealt directly with Jeff and Marc and am quite pleased with their company. After this pleasant experience, I arranged for the company to send their roofing crew for my next house project.

One of the owners, Marc, came to my house within 1 day of my phone call for an estimate and measurement. He explained exactly what would be needed and explained that he could not promise anything about the underlying plywood until the shingles were removed. All of the supplies and dumpster for the project were delivered 2 days prior to the starting of the job. The workers did show up when scheduled and completed the project in 2 days. The first day was shortened because of the weather. They left my home area in a clean condition. The other owner, Jeff, called my house on the evening that the project was finished to make sure I was satisfied with the work that was done. I am quite happy with the overall experience of dealing with Homecraft again.

MARC AND HIS MEN DID A GREAT JOB .WE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CONCRETE WALK WAY OR THE PORCH IT SELF. THE PORCH IS CIRCULAR IN SHAPE AND WAS NOT THAT EASY TO DO. HE LET MY HUSBAND MAKE SOME ADJUSTMENTS ALONG THE WAY.

THE COMPANY WAS BOOK PRETTY SOLID BUT THEY SNUCK US IN .THE DESIGN OF THE DECK HAS GIVEN US GREAT ACCESS TO THE POURCH DOWN STAIRS. IT WAS DESIGNED WITH THE HELP OF US. THE WORKERS WERE QUICK AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY LEFT THE YARD CLEAN
