Cobra Plumbing Services

As always, Cobra Plumbing did a superb job. Cobra answered the call for service immediately, came quickly and did a fast and efficient job. Several months ago Ernie came to my house to do a major repair of the main water line. He did a fantastic and thorough job then: replacing the main water line at a rate far below his competitors without destroying my landscaping. He showed the same responsiveness and attention to detail on this very small service. The price was more than fair. There is no better plumbing service in Baltimore.

I will give him credit for showing up on time. I will also give him credit for deducting the cost of the sewer line that he had previously done as a stop-gap measure until we could schedule replacing the line. The rest of the experience was not good. When digging up the yard to install the new pipe he dug in the wrong place. Hence our beautiful slate walkway was torn up for no reason. When he finally found the correct spot, he did not install the pipe as it had been and as was done for neighbors who had this work done at their homes. Instead of connecting the pipe underground, he put in a large plastic pipe which extended into our driveway and looked hideous. He also installed a large plastic hookup for future drain cleanings if needed. This extended about 10" into our garden. This also looked hideous. Even though the walkway didn't really need to be ripped out (his mistake), he insisted that he wasn't liable for any of the expense to restore the yard to its previous condition which we paid someone to do in the spring. Technically, he probably he probably wasn't. We feel that he should have paid for the restoration of the walkway since that was his error. We were expecting to pay for a landscaper to regrade and reseed the garden/lawn in one area. We also had to pay our handyman to get rid of the ugly, obtrusive plastic piping.

Ernie responded promptly to my email and we set up a date for the replacement. He called to let me know that the toilet in the deal was on back order; he recommended another toilet of equal quality. It cost $60 more than the coupon, and Ernie gave me the option of waiting or moving ahead with the second toilet. I decided not to wait. It turned out that the toilet seat was cracked so Ernie went back to the store for a new one. He worked quickly and made sure the area was cleaned up before he left. Ernie is professional and personable and I will call on him again.

It went great. Ernie was on time and worked very hard. His workmanship and attention to detail was excellent. Our plumbing issues have been resolved and the cost well worth it.

Estimate was much more thorough than other companies. Arrived promptly and was able to schedule within week and, if I had needed it, would have scheduled me sooner as an emergency. Polite, pleasant and his price was very reasonable.

While Mr. Taylor was able to look around trying to trouble shoot and find out where the leak was coming from, that information had to come from my original plumber who spotted the problem. Unfortunately, that plumber was not around to explain what and where the problem was. This was too bad; I looked bad, too. Not having any information to give Mr. Taylor, I ended up sending him away. He maintained his professionalism and was even nice about it. He didn't charge me for making a trip out to my house and taking his time to look for the leak. Gas is not cheap; wear and tear on the truck cost money. And his time and effort was spent; but he did not ask to be compensated. I was very grateful that he was very accommodating and understanding of my embarrassing situation. It was awkward to say the least to get a pro to come out and couldn't tell him or her what my problem was. Yes, I feel obliged to write a five-star review about this service. Best of all, Cobra Plumbing offered Best Customer Service, not just plumbing service. In conclusion, I'll call Cobra Plumbing again once the previous plumber tells us what the problem is. I hope it'll be soon because there is no water in the house for days. This time Cobra Plumbing will be well compensated.

They were very nice and showed up on time. They gave a detailed estimate. It was a little more than we could do right now but we would consider them in the future.

Great. I got an appointment within two days. Ernie was courteous, respectful, professional and did the job right. I live in Northern Harford County and would recommend him to anyone and will definately use Cobra Plumbing in the future. Also, he was fair in price.

Everything went very smoothly. We were able to quickly schedule the appointment and Ernie was able to come earlier than expected, which worked well with my schedule. He called to make sure we could accommodate an earlier appointment as well. Once we went over the options and I decided on a replacement, he was very quick to replace the disposal and we've had no issues with the new disposal. He also answered a few questions I had about our hose bib. He charged exactly what he said in the verbal phone estimate and subtracted the Angie's List discount without me even mentioning it. Ernie was polite, professional, and very trustworthy. I would absolutely use Cobra Plumbing Service again!

I couldn't be happier with the cost and quality of the work performed by Cobra Plumbing in my house in Homeland. I needed to replace the main water line from the house to the street - a common ailment of old Baltimore houses and a major job that I was hardly looking forward to. I sought estimates from 3 of the top rated providers on Angie's List and chose Cobra Plumbing in large part because Ernie gave a quote that was almost 1/3 less than his nearest competitor! A huge savings! In addition, unlike its competitors, Cobra was able to perform this service without destroying my front yard. Most plumbers have to dig up your entire front yard to install a new main line, but Cobra owns some type of hydraulic pump that allows it to install the pipe with minimal damage to the yard. Just as Ernie promised, only about 8 feet of my front yard needed to be dug up and my landscaping was largely saved. I was also extremely impressed with the professionalism with which the job was performed. Ernie is highly responsive, informative and performs the job precisely as promised. I was able to get a quote quickly and this major job was performed within the same week. Ernie and his crew showed up on time with all necessary permits and cleaned up after themselves on the job site. In addition to being prompt, they were highly efficient in getting the work performed in a timely manner. Ernie is also good humored and a pleasure to work with. Overall, I can't imagine using any other plumbing service in the future and I give Cobra Plumbing my highest recommendation.

It's easy to see why Ernie and Cobra Plumbing have so many A ratings on Angie's list. Ernie was on time, helpful, informative, and just an all around nice guy.....all of these things are important when trying to find good dependable help that you feel comfortable allowing into your home. The job was to install a new 17" high Gerber Avalanch tollet, he had the exisiting one out and the new one in no time. Great toilet, love the height and it was a " Buy It Now Special". If that sounds good, jump on it the offer expires in 4 days. It was really a plus knowing this was a toilet he hghly recommended and has in his own home. I live in a condo and wanted no clogging problems, I had done some research on my own and Ernie verfied what I had read about this toilet being able to flush a bucket of golf balls. I'll pass on that experiment but think it was well worth it, even without the special offer. I also had been wanting to replace a cartridge in my shower, the plan was to try and do it myself but I was afraid it would get stuck. Ernie was happy to take care of that for me, which I really appreciated .....it definately would have been a do it yourself nightmare without the proper tools My next project is to have a new water heater installed, which we discussed. Maybe I'll get lucky and that will be Ernie's next "Buy It Now Special" Hint Hint. Either way I've found a great plumber and would call him again without hesitation.

He responded to my initial call within 5 minutes, even though he was out of town and on vacation. We arranged for him to contact me within a few days when he would be back, and that is exactly what he did. He arrived promptly at the arranged time, gave me a price for the new disposal and the installation, and within half an hour the job was done. Neat, clean, friendly and professional, an absolute pleasure to deal with. I recommend his services to anyone who needs plumbing work done and I will certainly use him again in the future.

Contacted Ernie late on a Friday afternoon and set up an appointment for the following Monday afternoon. He arrived early, looked the job over, gave me a quote. I agreed to the price and he set about to work. Barely an hour later he was finished. Professional and efficient. I'm already thinking about what to have him do next! HIGHLY recommended!!

Ernie was wonderful to work with (and very funny)! When I called and explained my situation, he was unable to visual what I was describing (probably because I have NO IDEA what I am talking about when it comes to plumbing) so he asked me to take a picture and send it to his cell phone. I really appreciated this because other plumbers I contacted I am sure had no idea what I was describing (see above comment) but never cared to solve this communication problem. He gave me a date for service (was able to come out a couple days after I called) and an approximate time of arrival, but on the day of service, asked if he could come early! :) He was very professional and knowledgeable and got the job done correctly and quickly. When he was finished he showed me how the values worked (think he figured out that I have NO IDEA what I am talking about when it comes to plumbing:) ). I felt the price was very reasonable and it was even cheaper then other plumbers I called. I have Cobra's magnet on my washing machine and I will be sure to call them again for my plumbing needs!

Cobra was extremely responsive. He replied to my initial inquiry through Angie's List within minutes, and was very accessible by phone to discuss my general plumbing concerns and needs prior to our scheduled appointment. He was prompt, professional, and honest when providing the service. He also had some creative ideas about how to install a water softener in a tight crawl space.

The serviceman arrived on time. He had previously advised me how to fix my sump pump, without the cost of a service call, but the pump was 23 years old so I wanted it replaced. The area, where the sump pump was located, wasn't the most user-friendly area, but the serviceman had the old pump out and replaced very quickly. The serviceman was very courteous and professional. I tried to get him out, for an emergency plumbing problem, but he was very busy at that time. I had to use another plumber, from Angie's List, who was also excellent. I used a coupon for the sump pump replacement which made the cost very reasonable.

Ernie showed up on time, was very knowledgable, professional, neat and clean. He worked efficiently and was very pleasant to interact with. After he had completed the work, he left the areas neat and clean.

Great, I contacted Cobra Plumbing they gave me the first available date they could stop out. Since it wasn?t life or death emergency, 2 days later seemed reasonable. Ernie the owner of Cobra Plumbing told me he?d be at my home @ 4pm. Ernie was extremely prompt, & arrived 30 minutes early. Quickly Ernie determined the clog was beyond the toilet & that it was somewhere between the toilet & the storage tank of the Septic System approx 50-70 feet away. Ernie removed the toilet carefully placing the toilet on a plastic bag to prevent damage or dirt on the bathroom floor. Ernie brought in a large snake machine & fed the snake through the exposed pipe where the toilet had been. After running the snake through the pipe a couple of times the clog was finally broken up. Ernie then cleaned up the mess from removing the toilet & using the snake & then reinstalled the toilet back in its original position. Lastly, he checked to make sure everything worked properly.

Ernie is always pleasant and professional and when he was going to be delayed due to a previous appointment running long, he texted me to let me know what was happening. He works quickly and efficiently and cleans up everything appropriately. He scheduled me in as soon as he could and it was no problem getting him to return to finish one of the items after I had purchased the mechanism online. I have complete confidence in his work as I have had no issues at all with anything he worked on and fixed. Very happy!

The service to pull out the old line and reinstall the new line went really smooth. After the repair I had to get the concrete replaced due to the original water damage and Concrete guys complained about removing some left over mud that was on the sidewalk and street that was left over by the repair job. But for the cost of the repair job, I could live with the extra mess I had to clean up outside and in some spots in my basement where I used my shop vac to clean up a few things.

An appliance that removes most of the iron and another that neutralizess the water was recommended by Cobra. I was given a price for both. Since I am not very knowledgable about either, I asked for more information. There was no indication to me that Cobra had decided not to provide this service. He told me that he would get in touch with me in a few days, but didn't. I e-mailed him though Angie's List. He e-mailed me back indicating that his computer crashed and he hadn't gotten the information yet. (I am still wondering how he e-mailed me when his computer had crashed) My understanding that he was still interested. I haven't had any response since that time. I have called 2 or 3 other plumbers. They say that they don't do plumbing that has a well system and they all recommended Cobra. I don't understand if a business doesn't plan to povide a service, while they don't tell the customer so that they can make other plans. Cobra may be very good at what they do, but guess I'll never know. Even if they are, it does me no good.

My experience was a good one. I'm one of those guys that likes to hang around and watch everything to see how its done and maybe learn a thing or two. Ernie and Ron didn't mind at all. As I mentioned above my main sewer line was clogged such that no water would go down at all. (Interestingly this actually saved me the pain of raw sewage from coming up from the main line into my basement. It turned out that the main sewer line was clogged downstream and had already backed up into my neighbors basement. The city had to repair this) The guys arrived on time and got right to work. As you might imagine the biggest part of the job was the excavation of the front yard to actually get to the sewer line itself. Ron had great mastery of the backhoe and made it look easy! (I was very impressed with Ron's concentration on the job.) The sewer was stuffed with tree roots. Ernie quickly replaced the line with PVC pipe and added two clean outs. All of the dirt was returned and packed down and the yard was leveled. I'm very satisfied.

Ernie was great. He responded immediately to my email sent thru Angie's list, and gave me a price. I had a few questions, which he answered in a follow up email within hours. I had purchased the shower fixture and when Ernie arrived he told me that the brand I purchased had a high number of repair issues. He got a price for me from a plumbing supply house for an alternate brand. He left to pick up that fixture, returned, and was still able to complete the job on the scheduled day. I appreciated the info he provided on purchasing a better brand, and the fact that Ernie was willing to go get the replacement for me was great. I would definitely use Cobra Plumbing again!

On 3/18 I surfed Angie's list for plumbers after learning the ph of our home water supply was low. Made 5 inquiries - Ernie, of Cobra Plumbing, called me back right away. He was quick to provide important information about the realities of the problem, gave me a great price, and was able to do the work on 3/20. Other plumbers called and or emailed me with quotes. Cobra Plumbing was by far the most reasonable. Work got under way around 11AM on 3/20. Ernie brought to my attention during the install that the laundry tub pump was not doing a very good job at handling the water from backwashing the system. We've known the pump was on the fritz, so I asked him to install a new one... oh, and we have this leaky toilet... He came back on 3/22 and installed the laundry pump, finished the install of the water treatment system, and fixed our leaky toilet. Ernie is super efficient... one man show. When I asked other installers for a time frame for the work to be done they all said 6 to 8 hours with two installers. Had we not had the laundry tub pump issue, he would have been done in about 4.

I contacted Ernie during the morning to report a leaking water heater and get a quote. He gave me an approximate price and we discussed the specifics of our current tank and where it was located. We had a lowboy style 40 gallon tank which isn't as common and Ernie was trying to find out if we had enough space to work with to install a slightly larger 52 gallon lowboy tank. I initially offered to measure the space and the old tank and he was going to call back with measurements of the 52 gallon tank. However, I then decided that I was afraid I might measure incorrectly and he'd be working on wrong information. No problem, he offered to come and measure for me. Once he found out my address, he said he was pretty close by and would be over in about 15 minutes! He did come right over and went straight to work measuring and then disconnecting the old water heater. He said I'd called just in time as the seam in the back of the heater was just about rusted through and the whole thing could've burst at any time. It did look to be in awful shape, so I feel really lucky that Ernie was available so quickly. He then headed out to pick up the new tank (only a 40 gallon as the larger tank wouldn't quite fit). He was back in no time and was able to get the new tank connected without any issues. From the time I called Ernie to the time he was completely finished the install couldn't have been more than 3 or 3.5 hours!! I couldn't believe how fast the service was. I'm sure part of it was luck that he was nearby and didn't have a crazy schedule that day, but he also said that when he hears that a tank is leaking, he tries to get it replaced quickly since it's only a matter of time before it goes. Ernie was pleasant and professional. I would definitely use his services again and recommend him to others.
