It was fine. They did a very nice job. He took his time and didn’t rush through. He explained everything that was on the report and gave me some suggestions as to what to do. It was good. The price was very reasonable for me.

Gentleman showed up. I pointed out two holes (one too tiny to be actually visible, one .5cm in dia next to a pipe). The gentleman provided a quote in excess of $800 to repair the holes. I asked if he could just put tar/caulk/filler and seal the holes on this visit as the advertisement said, but the gentleman said that was not possible. I later contacted another vendor who did the repair for $99.00

I do not remember the exact date in October 2013 when the company came out. What I remember most is that the tech almost fell off my roof and then admitted that he had the wrong type of shoes on. It was hard to focus on his presentation after that. I felt that the estimates quoted for a roof replacement were high and outside of the average price ranges.

The call did not go well, the receptionist was uninterested in my problem which was a potentially dangerous condition for my renter. I'd like to correct my previous rating to say this company did not actually cancel an already existing appointment. That was another roofer who did not show up as promised.

DO carefully read the fine print. DO get the name of the person who authorizes a refund when applicable. DON'T rush to judgement about a company until all the facts are in. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the owners of this company.
Description of Work: This company was prompt in responding to my appointment. Upon arrival, it was determined that we were not on the same page concerning the work that I wanted to be done. I only wanted flashings and broken tiles replaced. They were unable to go on top of the roof because of the tiling. However, they did follow through with the aerial map and outline of the roof with an estimate in the event I would want to replace it in the future. After realizing that they were not going to be able to do the work I had requested, they immediately called the office and arranged for a refund. After a week of not hearing from them or Angie's list about the refund, I called. Arrangements for the refund were made and a refund was credited to my Paypal account. I would definitely consider this company when I would need a new roof. Unfortunately, that was not what I was in the market for.

They were not able to provide the Big Deal services because my roof was not considered "walkable". A definition of "walkable" would have been helpful up front. I did have them come out and give me an estimate for a new roof because my roof is old and I will have to replace it in the near future. Company was very responsive in setting up appointment and providing estimate. I will definitely consider them as I move forward in the process.

They did a great job on our roof. They installed a new skylight, which looks great. They also painted our chimney and pipes on the roof, and the color of the paint matches the roof shingles. They did a great job cleaning up after the job was completed. All the workers were friendly. They competed the entire job in 1 day. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs work done. They are very professional.

I called the company for an appointment the person making appointments for new business is very nice and helpful. I quickly got a representative out to my home, who was also very nice, seemed knowledgeable and friendly. The representative also seemed to offer ideas to save money, however I soon learned it was to save them time and dollars for a large gain of profit from me. The representative took a deposit for the services of $360.00, which was for about 20ft in new flashing across the top of my gutters across the back of the house, straight gutter. I also requested a correction to the current gutters attached to the garage, joining the house and a hole repaired in the siding on one side of the house about 4 inches long, cracked in the lip of the siding. The representative indicated the individuals coming to my home knew what they were doing and would check the gutters around my entire house and replace the flat head siding nails with screws to hold the gutter guards down around the house. Also would be able to correct the gutter problem from the attached garage, which is currently cracking my foundation from a inch gap on each end joining the house. After the representative took the deposit it was early in the morning, he indicated he would go immediately back to the company and provide the details of my job to the processer and they would call me with an appointment to complete the job. The appointment may be next week, since my job was small, depending weather. However indicated it could take up to 3 weeks to provide a date to completion of work, but indicted a person at the company would call to schedule the appoint 1 week to 3 weeks out, same day. He was very nice and was trying to accommodate a next week appointment while I was off on vacation. Two business days passed and a weekend, I had no call from the company. This was an alarm something was wrong. I checked my credit card, the deposit was collected, however I received no telephone call to schedule my appointment from the company. I called the company on the 2nd business day, the owner returned the call within 20 minutes. The owner indicated he was on vacation returning my call and needed to understand my concern. I explained the above, deposit collected, not a large job, no one has called to acknowledge I had work the company needed to provide and no appointment was in process from what I could tell. The owner was very defensive and started to argue with me about how large his company is and how much business they have as well as how large of checks he receives from his business. Also he wanted to put me in the middle of the unorganized process I soon learned the company has in place and therefore provides no quality customer service from the time someone takes your deposit. Basically the representative coming to the home determining the job and pricing was the only professional and understood customer service. The owner should take lessons from him. From what I could gather the owner seems to only want to provide service to large companies, resulting in large dollar returns. The person making my appointment should screen for that and indicate they do not deal with small residential jobs. I indicated to the owner as he was arguing with me and cutting me off in the middle of my conversation, I do not need to know the processing of a work order with his company or the size of his jobs. The owner did finally indicate he could look at his internal processes, he doesn't understand "how the company failed me", with this comment I gave him the chance to still keep my business. The owner indicated he would personally come down, make sure the job was done correctly and would be back in town, providing an immediate appointment over the telephone, which was 3 days out. Three days later I never received a telephone call the day before to tell me what timeframe the workers would be coming to my home. I received a text message 7:32 in the morning, saying the workers were 20 minutes away, were collecting supplies and were on their way. They arrived 4 hours later, so I was left hanging with my entire day. The owner never showed and no one followed up on the satisfaction of the job. When the workers arrived, they did not speak or comprehend English, they had no idea what to do, I had to walk them through the entire process again, which was explained to the representative that came to my home, who took pictures of the job. The language barrier was so great, they did not understand me, so I pointed to the first problem of the garage gutter gap of one inch and pointed to the back gutters. They said "no understand" for the garage and went to the back gutters. They were working on the back gutters while one other person went to the truck to call the owner on what to do with the garage. Also they had no knowledge of how to fix the hole in the siding. I indicated I selected a color caulk that I was charged for to fix the hole they said "no, no caulk, no fix, but have some clear caulk on truck, if I would like". I was frustrated was getting ready to call the company and the owner had texted me, while I was outside explaining the job to his workers. The owner than called me to indicate there was a problem with the caulk and the representative will come by the next day to fix the hole. I communicated to the owner I am very concerned, the individuals do not speak English and are not comprehending what needs to be completed. I am confused did the representative explain to them, what were the pictures for? The owner acknowledged the language barrier, but said they understand him, he got defensive again. I simply did not want to deal with this anymore, I should have stayed with my gut instinct and canceled the job from this company. I am thinking if I have a language barrier and the owner does, how does he think they understand. The owner than indicated that is what the pictures were for to show them pictures as well. So basically the owner hires workers, very cheaply, takes pictures and hopes through the language barrier and pictures his workers will understand. Overcharging people for the job. I am okay with hiring individuals to complete a specific task/job, but someone should be with them to make sure the job is being completed as discussed, make sure the job is finished and the owner is happy at the end. I had to leave an hour into the job, I came home late to see the terrible looking flashing placed on the garage and could see no evidence any other gutter was screwed down. Also my wires to my dish for cable were pulled out and hanging, looked terrible. I had to knock on a neighbor's door, he got his ladder and corrected the wires pulled out of place. The representative never showed back up as promised the next day to caulk the hole in the siding and I never heard from the company how I thought about a job. I am sure they will be very quick at sending me the rest of the $600. bill. From the little work completed it appears about $100.00 the most was the cost (including the labor), the rest was profit to this company, which is an extreme mark up of 800%. I will never use this company again, everyone should stay away, I am very afraid they may have now caused roof problems for me, I have no faith they understood or knew what they were doing, especially with the language barrier. The little bit of work I see they completed is terrible looking, flashing is cut like a child cut it, no attention to cosmetics, and the end of my gutter on the back of the house looks like a dog chewed it, which means they used what was there and beat it to conform. This company should be removed off the list, seriously, I am concerned for what damage they could cause residential homes.
Description of Work: Repaired back gutter of house, gutter guards were coming up on each end of the back gutter, birds had built a nest on one end of the gutter. New flashing was added across the back gutter only, screwed down about 20ft. long for new gutter guard covers. The gutters themselves were not replaced. Also added two pieces of flashing to gutter on each side of attached garage. Two pieces were cut, looks terrible, were not cut straight, very poor quality. Still waiting for someone from the company to caulk the hole in the siding. Not a lot of work was done or needed to be accomplished for the price charged. 8/31/13 (update) The Representative who originally came to my home contacted me to resolve the items that were not completed with quality, immediately after posting my comments, to help resolve the issues and to assist with improved results from the original request. He personally came to my house and caulked the hole in the siding. He also came back out a couple days later, keeping in contact with me with scheduling, to have the job corrected for the garage gutter diverters. 8/30 The diverters for the gutter were removed and new flashing was placed which was purchased properly cut to divert water. The ends of the back gutters were left hammered down as they were. The representative did call me several times to keep me informed of the progress and followed up on a Saturday to let me know the job is complete. I appreciated the efforts of the Representative and his professional manner to help resolve the issues.

First, let me just say that we did have a very professional conversation with Ms. Reed immediately after this review was posted. She is now understanding of our minimum fees and ultimately satisfied with our services. Like most of us leading busy lives she has unfortunately not yet found the time to update her continued experience with our company. It is unfortunate this review has found its way onto our Angie's List page. We work very hard to build a reputable business that offers the required state license, all the insurances required of us in the roofing industry, good employees, and the needed trucks and gas to run free estimates and to services our customers. We are not the handyman down the street who is a jack of all trades and master of none but a reputable company that is industry trained in all that we do. This type of service requires us to set a minimum fee for our repairs and we do try our best to assess the repair situation before even dispatching an estimator. We would rather defer and refer than use both our time and the customer's time inefficiently. To that end, she did have some valid frustrations which are sometimes easier to reveal in a forum like Angie’s List than to have a difficult conversation addressing the concerns with your contractor. This particular repair was written while our operations manager was on vacation. In the effort to accommodate the customer, it was decided to try and schedule her during this time; hence a communication error on our part for which we totally accept responsibility. Upon receiving this review, we immediately connected with her as we were very unaware of any concerns she had; no communication had been made. We are a contractor that addresses concerns when brought to our attention; we do not run away. We did revisit her home and found that our work was not to the contracted specification; mostly due to miscommunications on our end while the operational manager was on vacation. This was immediately realized and remedied. While we have a GREAT reputation, we experience a hiccup from time to time; but that does not make us a bad company. Her words were strong and harsh and we do hope that one day she finds the time to revisit the review and update her experience accordingly. Many thanks for reading our feedback.

The gentleman providing the estimate was friendly and professional. He was able to provide an application for financing (no interest if paid in a year) which was a big plus for us. There was no hassle at all in getting the financing approved. It took a few weeks for the crew to get around to starting our work which was fine because we were not dealing with serious leaks. Once the crew arrived it took two days to complete the job and the roof looked great when it was finished. The clean-up outside was phenomenal...not a nail or piece of tarpaper anywhere. The roof is extremely steep, and the crew did a great job under difficult conditions. When we went up into our attic however, there were bits of shingle, splinters and tar paper everywhere that apparently through the plank base of the roof of our older house as they nailed shingles to the planking . We totally understood that there is no way that the crew could have known about that since all the work was outside, but the mess was pretty bad on the inside. I called the company and got a voice mail message back that while this interior mess is not normally part of the process it can happen from time to time. There was no offer to come over and look at the mess or to clean it. A few weeks later, a Dry Tech email came asking me to be willing to share a referral with other customers. I refused and attached a picture of the mess in our attic..at which point I received an apologetic email and a phone call. Within a few more weeks, I had a company representative who came by with a shop vac to clean it up. I would recommend Dry Tech to friends and neighbors but please ask when signing the contract that any interior mess be cleaned as well and as promptly as the exterior.
Description of Work: They completely re-did our roof on the main house (which is very steep) and put on new shingles. They also did the roof for our screened in porch and the outbuilding which had previously been tarpaper roofs, they shingled them for us. The house is older and there was not plywood underneath but rather planking and they placed the shingles on the existing planking.

Here is the my one sentence version: I had a VERY POSITIVE customer experience and quality roof job done by DryTECH Roofing. The first and foremost reason I selected DryTECH was because of the time, detailed analysis and significant explanations about options and recommendations from their Senior Field Estimator: Andy D. At no time did Andy and DryTECH ever try and "up sell" me on anything, and in fact they explained why certain upgrades and additional work items may not be worth it for my particular roof and needs. But Andy gave me many more optional things to think about, and based on my particular roof and past issues. Some companies just gave flat quotes based on their quick measurements, but without ever examining my roof really and showing anything in the proposal that was contextual to my needs, issues and priorities. DryTECH also did the best job understanding that my house has had some leak issues, and examining where special care areas were. This was more than just a job or business for Andy and DryTECH. I was surprised how much planning, timing, skillsets and coordination goes on for a roof job. I was equally surprised how DryTECH has the experience, network and high-caliber professionals in all roles to make it all come together. This was even after delays during the Holidays for the start date due to rain. Their owner Terry even helped while on vacation out-of-state to make sure this job, which was on a tight schedule, was all re-planned when rain and high winds changed the date (suppliers, roofers, etc). Their install team was also top-notch. It was a full-sized team that showed up and you could tell they had all worked together for a while, especially the two brothers Tomas and Felizio (forgive my spelling) who were the leads. The team really also communicated well and explained properly when I had questions; and when I wanted to confirm that certain things would be done. They also had an interest to understand where the areas of most concern and past issues were for me (including from inside the house). The team was extremely hard working and efficient. They basically work non-stop. I also saw the extra care they did to take care of usual water penetration/issue areas. They also have the skills to do other things like some roof job related carpentry work, wood repairs, etc. They replaced a long piece of wood/fascia board that sits under one of my gutters, and put aluminum capping on it. The wall step flashing they did, which they also counter flashed, is not a trivial task and most roofers don't know how to do that the professional way (countered flashed into the brick). Most that I talked to wanted to just put flashing against the brick with caulk on top, but water will start to seep in and under the roof/walls as soon as a little caulk goes or there is driving rain. A number of my neighbors have asked me about my experience, as some of them may need roof work done soon. They know I invested time to research a fair bit before deciding. I have strongly recommended to all of them to call Andy for his consultation. Another differentiating factor was that of the different companies that I contacted, DryTECH was the only one certified to sell a long-term warranty from the shingle manufacturer (in my case GAF). The GAF Golden Pledge Warranty not only gives 25-50 years on the materials, but they also stand behind and guarantee/warranty the workmanship for 25 years! That is five times longer than the 5-year workmanship warranty that most other roofing companies were able to offer me. Andy never tried to push this on me, but explained what it gives clearly and left it to me to decide before the final proposal/contract. It doesn't cost too much extra, but it's taken very seriously by the manufacturer, GAF. They sent an inspector out to audit the roof job some weeks after the job, and left me something in writing that all was done to their high standards (in order to qualify for the Golden Pledge Warranty). I have recommended DryTECH already numerous times to people, including my own Father just last week! I would recommend doing your homework, but then give Andy and DryTECH a call and see what they have to say. If nothing else, you will learn specifics of what to expect from others and see detailed in their proposal. I sure did a lot of homework, and when I did an apples-to-apples comparison, DryTECH was clearly a better value. I feel also assured that what I paid for was tied to exactly/only what I needed, and the extras recommended/accepted were ones that added value for my specific house. The quality of workmanship was outstanding as well. I am very grateful as you can see for having met Andy and DryTECH (as you can see). I have called them since for recommendations for other types of home improvement advice/contacts when I need it as well. If they trust a product or someone, then I feel it's worth me giving them a call. Andy especially is a big difference maker, and is the best person in this type of role that I have ever worked with (across all types of home improvement companies). In summary, I had a great experience and I know I got a lot beyond what others were offering. Also, while I am very happy I decided to get the 25 year GAF workmanship warranty, I am more happy that I went with DryTECH and have quality water protection for my overall house (because it's a lot more than shingles to make that happen). It's more, and DryTECH was the only one who even offered to do some of the things that will make the difference over the years, and especially the next time there is a major storm. Cheers! A Very Grateful Customer
Description of Work: DryTech Roofing: - put a whole new roof on my townhouse, with extra special care for water penetration areas (and based on specific issues I had). - they thoroughly inspected key areas before estimating and providing estimations - beyond a basic roof job: extra penetration protection for key things after analysis (higher quality heavier shingles, drip edge in more than basic places, ice-and-water shield in more than minimum places, etc) - In addition to usual flashing, there was professional 'wall step flashing' done where a side roof meets the main wall (with counter flashing, into the brick....few people know how to do this right!) - replacing a wood gutter/fascia board, with aluminum capping on it - 25 year workmanship warranty!

Not so well. The guy that came to give us an estimate was very nice and we thought he was thorough. Apparently, he forgot to tell us that the nails would poke through the eaves of our porch, so we were not happy to find out that we would incur an additional expense that was not part of the estimate. They told us that they would have to replace 5 skylights, which they did, but we were responsible for all of the interior work. Then, with the first hard rain, the biggest skylight leaked all over our floor. They came in a few days to fix it and it's been ok so far. When we called the owner out to show him the nails, he apologized and said that he would be sending us gift cards as an apology for all the trouble we had had. To date, we have received no gift cards. Additionally, about three weeks ago, we received a request via email from DryTech to evaluate our experience. We filled it out in much the same way we are completing this evaluation, and have heard absolutely nothing from the company.
Description of Work: They replaced our roof, but in doing so, left nails sticking throughout our roof on the underside. When we complained, they said, "Whoops. We forgot to tell you that that might happen," and so charged us an additional $700 to fix the problem.

Terry (Owner?) was the kindesst, most helpful and caring maan I have ever dealt with. He worked hard to get me the best price possible. His quote did indeed beat everyone else. My roof was scheduled within two weeks of my acceptance of the contract. The next day, my roof leaked. I called Terry to tell him. He had the roof done the very next day. Simply the best!

I called about a leak problem and had good initial response with the estimator. He was able to get them to move the work up and was performed while I was actually at work so I was not home at the time and was told everything was ok and I should be water tight.. During the storm/rain this past evening, the area that I paid to have fixed leaked again. I discovered this at 3am when I woke up. ...edit... I'm editing my original response a bit as I did talk to them. I had left a text message to the estimator and an email to their main office. I did get a call at 7:30 on my cell from somebody (which is 30 mins before their stated opening.) We had a little discussion and the two workers who did the original work came out. (Took longer for them to get here, but traffic sucked due to weather...so I'll give them a pass on that). I also spoke to the original estimator on the phone. They were able to spot the leak from the inside during the rain. It was not coming from the vent/pipe collars. The issue as told to me was with the metal ridge cap that runs along the top of the roof. The did go up on the roof to make a temporary repair in the rain (wasn't raining that hard) so I have to give them points for that. The recommendation was to schedule a replacement of the cap. The issue that I still need to discuss with them (did not occur to me until recently) is if they're recommending replacement of the cap, it would make sense to me that there were likely identifiable issues with the cap when they were doing the previous work so I can't satisfy myself that they looked at the cap in the course of the previous work which in my mind should've been done under the check for additional problems part of the work. I will give them not being able to confirm a leak without today's rain, but as the estimator was telling me, sometimes the metal ridge caps leak, sometimes they don't. If they have an unreliable history, then why wasn't this mentioned to me before today's rain? Why wasn't a closer look taken at the cap before? After I got off the phone with them, I did recall a case about 2 years ago when somebody did a temporary 'tar' patch on the cap that I had forgotten about. At the time, the person said they found what looked to be a rusty nail on the cap (again was between storms, so had to be temp and I didn't recall it until now.). Either the temp repair or the rusty nail should've been found on an inspection. I likely would've elected to replace the cap then and I could've avoided today's mess. I edited my scores from them up from what I had originally given due they did get out here today to look and that the leak wasn't from the work they actually did do. I may chose to edit my scores again in the future after any additional discussions with them and after I've had a chance to get more sleep an further evaluate the situation. I am undecided if I would hire them again in the future. I need to calm down more before I can give a real answer to that one. Update #2: Well, the original spot I paid them to fix has leaked *AGAIN*. I am irate and I am lowing my review scores at least until I talk with them again. I'm leaving the responsiveness score up for now until I have a chance to talk to them, but may lower later today Update #3: I had another company come out and double check. Well, the initial pipe collar repair was very poorly done. They were supposed to use ice shield. They did not. They were suppose to seal around it. They did not seal completely around it and left a spot at the top open where water can get in. They also left a small hole from the original pipe collar they did not fix. They also missed several other very obvious things in other parts of the roof that I would've had fixed. The price to fix all of their mistakes and all the other problems that I got from the other company is much less than I was charged for this job. Update #4: Spoke with Drytech. The guy disagrees with the 2nd opinion on the pipe collar work and has a different view of the pictures. The owner/manager (not quite sure what his exact position is) is going to come out sat morning to look for himself. My point that I had asked them to look for any other issues on the roof while up there still stands. There are other significant issues that need to be addressed like I said above. At least one of which was very near to ridge vent work on the front of the house. At this point, it's a case of I'm getting very different answers from different companies. I will likely update review again after Sat discussions Update #5 (take two): Owner came out this morning and looked at stuff from inside and we talked a bit. I'm still digesting stuff so likely will update in future. What I need to resolve is his vs double checker opinion on the pipe collar. Technically, the contract didn't say check the rest of the roof, but I mentioned it verbally and was told ok for the first couple repairs. Owner said he'd extend warrenty on the pipe collar to 1 year from 90 days.

I had my roof replaced by them in Dec of 2011. They did an excellent job! Last month I called to see if someone could stop by and take a look at a loose piece of flashing. Terry answered the phone and said he would see if one of his guys could come out the next day. He called me back within a few minutes and told me that Andy would stop by the next day to take a look at it. Andy stopped by the next day, earlier than was expected and fixed the problem for us. Their customer service is excellent, and they are very quick to respond.

DryTech Roofing & Home Solutions LLC have replaced our roof and they will be coming back next week to replace the gutters. There was a nice selection and the salesman was good, and they did a good job. The owner was out here and looked at the work. I think my husband liked dealing with this company and what they were going to do - and the way they were going to do it. We wanted the architectural shingles and they did some work on the back porch, it was a bit more expensive than we wanted to pay but we also wanted the better roofing, so the price was probably fair.

After getting multiple quotes for having our roof replaced, my husband and I signed a contract with a different company. When they increased the price unreasonably, we got back in touch with DryTech. Not only did they honor their initial quote, but they squeezed us into their busy schedule and were a pleasure to work with. We have two dogs, so nails on the ground after the fact were a big concern for us and DryTech did an awesome job of cleaning everything up. When they got a late start on our house the first day, they worked past their normal quitting time to get everything done by the initial deadline as we were leaving on vacation. There was a problem with the third-party dumpster supplier (it was still in our driveway when we returned from our week-long vacation), but once we brought it to their attention, they were able to get it removed the next day.

DryTech Roofing & Home Solutions LLC, I only got a review, an estimate done. They came and gave me an estimate and then after they gave me the estimate, it was over $11,000 I went on Angie's list and found companies that would do it for a little over $6,000. I would rather go with them than a company that charges twice as much. I haven't gotten someone yet. I got the estimate around the summer time last year. The quote understandable and everything, I just felt it was a little over priced after seeing the roofers listed on the website that were half the price.

I had this work done shortly after Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Lee in 2011. I only recently joined Angie's List (late 2012), but wanted to write a review for DryTech Roofing's September 2011 work on my roof. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience, as I feel I got a good price for my roof work and it appears that the warranty is great, too, although I haven't had to make any claims. Most of the work was done while I was at work, and the few encounters I had with the workers was pleasant. I was pleased with the responsiveness of DryTech's sales representative and also their being very willing to address the minor issues I had once the work was completed. (A few of my flowers were damaged after the work was completed, but DryTech--specifically Kristin-- was more than willing to apologize for this and have a gift card sent to me have the flowers replaced!) If I needed roof work done in the future, I would contact DryTech.
Description of Work: I had wind damage to my roof and had to get most of it replaced. Part of my roof is A-line and part is flat. I needed the A-line portion replaced, and this is what I hired DryTech Roofing to do. (The flat part is a different type of roof and had been recently replaced.)
