I have a Frigidaire clothes washer with a faulty drain pump that I purchased in April 2103. It's still under factory warranty, so I'm unable to use my extended warrenty service yet. Frigidaire's automated system listed Advanced Appliance as their appliance service provider. All good; I call them, speak to Jackie(very plesent and professional) to schedule an appointment. Jackie checked her service area directory and confirms that they do service the Roland Park 21210 Zip Code area. I set the appointment for today 1/9/2014 for between 12-2pm. Still All good. At 12:12pm I get a call from Jackie informing me that the tech(John) is at my building, but no one is answering in my unit. Now the situation turns all BAD. My nephew was waiting at the condo unit for the repair visit. I call him with Jackie on the other line, and telll him to buzz John in. ....but Jackie tells me that John(now referrred to as the tech and owner) has left my location because he could not find parking, was cut by another can while trying to park and no one is at my condo unit to let him in, and all in all, did not like the area. ALL WRONG!!!! My nephew confirmed that there was open parking spots out front, and if you are familiar with West University Parkway before it turns into Roland Ave, there is always street parking. By the time I explain this to Jackie that John must be at the wrong address, she informs me that and quot;John is the owner and if he doesn't want to make the service call, he won't.and quot; Jackie says she will call me back. I'm really not excited at having Advanced(John) service my washer at this point, but I need it fixed and Advanced is the only service company Frigidaire lists on their IVR. So I figure she will call me and tell me that John was at the wrong address, but he will honor their agreement with Frigidaire. NOPE! Jackie never calls back, but I get a call from a Frigidaire rep, apologizing and offers an alternate repair service. IF you happen to come upon Advanced Appliance regarless of if you are located in their home turf of Aberdeen, DO NOT TURN TO THEM FOR APPLIANCE SERVICE OF ANY KIND. The and quot;ownerand quot; does not keep his appointments, chooses what jobs to take regarless of appointment and flat out does not run a respectiable business

I understand this customers aggravation with the problem he encountered but it did not go exactly as he says. He left his nephew there to let me in, the problem is his nephew did not answer the door after repeated rings on the door bell. I double checked the address to make sure i was at the correct building and i was although he says i wasn't but i can only trust my eyes and my cognitive abilities. We had contacted them the day prior to make sure that they remembered that they have an appointment with us to have their appliance repaired (you wouldn't think you would have to do that since their appliance doesn't work but we have to). I have encountered this many times over the years that i have been repairing appliances, many times driving 40 or 50 minutes to find out no one is home then you call them and no one answers the phone then when you leave they call back and say let me call my son or nephew etc. and see if i can get them to come to the door all the while i am now 10 minutes away. I have done this many times over the years where I turned around and went back only to make me late for another appointment. After speaking to my secretary after i had left i told her to call and cancel the appointment permanently, for them to call another company as i was very aggravated because they knew we were supposed to come to their home at that appointed time. It is unfortunate that i could not fulfill the appointment because first, i always try to make sure the customers problem is resolved as i like people and want them to be happy and second because i don't get paid if i don't do the repair. What i have found over the years is that people leave their young family member to be responsible for answering the door and letting me in but most young people aren't really capable of being responsible enough carry out the job that has been laid before them even though it is only answering a door and letting a technician inside. Over the years i have had to make changes to our policies for many reasons one being financial because if you are to succeed in this trying economy you have to keep an eye on the financial end of the business and so far after 15 years i am still in business; although sometimes the decisions you make do not always please everybody and in this case this customer. My new policy because of this straw that broke the camels back will be that if i show up at the appointment after we have called them and they do not answer the door and i leave i will not return to do the repair. I believe the customer owes it to themselves to make sure that someone responsible is home to let me in to do the repair and not get mad at me when I leave because no one comes to the door, then go and blame it on me and make false reports to this company or to other avenues of making complaints. I am sure that if the customer was to spend more time questioning his nephew as to what he was doing he would get the truth. I find most times it is because they are a sleep or playing video games. I have found that no matter how hard you try you cannot please everyone. I do my absolute best to resolve the customers problem and make a friend at the same time, but over the years I have just found that not all people can be pleased; perfect example such as this case.
