Description of Work: Scott took out an old slider in my basement and installed a double door. The door didn't fit from the start, leaks when it rains you can see daylight on top, middle and left side. For months he told me he would come by and make it right and never did. I can't get in touch with him now.

+ -1 moreI was very happy with the attention to detail, weatherproofing, interior finish and overall look of the finished product. I have high expectations, and the end result was above and beyond from what I anticipated. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: Replaced 14 windows. Not an easy job, exterior and interior work was significant.

Description of Work: Based on reviews on Angie's list I contacted Scott along with 4 other contractors for quotes on doing the remodel of our kitchen. He was extremely reliable, professional, and prompt thoughout the entire process. he cared about customer satisfaction and made sure all our needs were met. job was completed on time and on budget. Amazing. My best experience with a remodel in 30 years. Would work with Scott again. he was great!

+ 1 moreMy experience with them was very good and excellent. They were very reliable and did a good job. They were easy to talk to. I did all the painting work. I would use their services in the future too.

+ 0 moreAll the work went great. It took less time than we thought it would and we were extremely happy with final result. We would definitely recommend Scott (SM Exteriors) to anyone thinking of having their windows or doors replaced. He explained the whole process when he prepared his estimates and made some excellent suggestions that we incorporated in our final plan.
Description of Work: We replaced 7 windows, 2 front doors and a sliding door in the kitchen.

+ -1 moreI have only good things to say about him, and there was really nothing that I didn?t like about him. He came when he said he would come, and he did the work very well. We were very pleased with his work. In fact, we wound up doing more than we originally planned to do. I am planning to use him again in the future.
Description of Work: We used SM Exteriors for exterior painting. He did the work for us 1-2 weeks ago as well as 1 month ago.

+ -1 moreI found Scott on Angie's List. He came to our residence and measured the countertops. We wanted a price for laminate, silestone and granite. He found a very reasonable granite supplier with six shades of granite for a very good price. We wanted a specific type of shade, and Scott was able to procure it at the same low price. Installation went smoothly. Countertop looks great. We are very happy with Scott's work.
Description of Work: Removed existing laminate countertop and replaced with granite.

+ -1 moreScott who is the owner of the company and does all the work is a very honest and sincere person and does what he says he is going to do. He has always been very helpful and does a fantastic job. He will try to keep costs down without cutting corners and does not add to material costs as a lot of contractors do. If there might to be added costs, he lets you know up front what they might be. He is easy to talk to and very knowlegeable. He stays right on task and does the work when he says he is going to do it. I have referred him to friends that have also been happy with his work.
Description of Work: Over the last year, I have had all of my windows and interior and exterior doors replaced as well as outside trim and some inside trim. I had an outside shower put in and a walkway. I also had tile floors put in kitchen and bath and new vanity and toilet, light and medicine cabinet in bath. I am now now having the tile torn out and having insultion and sheetrock put in with all new trim and baseboards.

+ -1 moreOverall, the experience of working with SMExteriors has been great and I will surely contact them for any kind of remodeling job, big or small.
Description of Work: My 40 year old kitchen desperately needed to come into the 21rst century. After planning my perfect kitchen for 5 years, I began the task of contracting contractors. I called numbers from the yellow book as well as those given to me from friends. The place to start was making the appointment to meet and discuss plans. I was ready. No call back... Too busy.... No show... I was going on "you tube" watching how to videos figuring that I would have to do my dream kitchen myself. Untill I was given the number of SMExteriors. The name is misleading since this company really does it inside and out. Scott, the owner helped us plan and figure out what would work together. He saw what I wanted from our discussions and within days began work. He tore down walls and built walls from the studs out. He made sure to insulate everything and all was tight as a drum. He painted walls after bulding them. He framed new windows and doors. He installs floors and cabinets and counters.He sands floors to match new installation. SMExteriors is a keeper. He returns calls, is on time, promises are kept and work site (my home) is kept so clean and organized. This is really important to me. If my house is full of dust from sanding etc, I am a very allergic and not so happy camper. Scott McLay is efficient and his prices are extremely reasonable considering the quality of his work.
