A-1 PAVING

From start to finish, Leonard was great! He always answered my calls or returned them promptly. He came out for a quote, and arrived on time. His quote was significantly more affordable than a few others I received. When we scheduled a date, his guys arrived on time and completely the work fairly quickly. And it looked great! Thanks!

Friends of ours had used him and were very happy with him. Late fall we contacted Leonard for a quote. He responded very quick and was a friendly guy. We couldn't have the work done immediately because we still had to clean up after that summer hurricane that left a mess on our driveway. In April 2012 the work started. Over a week period, he had guys come and go to do the project. He cut and removed the corner area that had sunk. He filled it with dirt and paved the area. I questioned him about it because he told me he would dig out the issue, and never did. He assured me that it wasn't necessary. Then he sealed the whole driveway. We waited a month before putting 2 chairs and a table on the new corner. The legs sank and made a marks in the pavement??????? I don't think that is normal. After 2 months we could already start seeing the sink hole appearing and by September the "fixed" corner started to crack. I started to call Leonard and left him messages. I probably called 8 times (not kidding). I'm still waiting for a phone call back. We have to redo the corner of our driveway again. Would not recommend him at all...

Andy from A-1 came quickly to provide an estimate. He made a few very helpful suggestions and really tried to understand what I wanted. Once I accepted the estimate, it took a while hear from then again. Andy was very apologetic but said that they had been very busy. That was not a problem; the need wasn't urgent. Once they were able to schedule the work, the crew arrived on a Saturday to prep the driveway area, removing stone, some dirt and compacted the area. The work was completed on the following Monday. Everything was professionally done and the crew left things neat and clean. The resulting driveway was beautifully finished.

Leonard was very responsive when I called for a quote on the job. He quickly came out, looked at the job. We had several conversations where he described the job in detail. I like what I heard and since he had also did the binder coat initially for ym driveway, I felt comfortable in using him again. I paid 50% up front and within a week, Leonard was at my house to do the job. The day of the job it was raining (with occasional downpours). I called Leonard and expressed my concerns about doing the job in the rain, because everything I read said that paving should not be completed in the rain due to the asphalt cooling too quickly and you may not get the proper compaction which could lead to issues in the future. Leonard assured me that there woudl be no issues and he did the job in the rain. We were told to stay off the driveway for several days and not to park on the driveway for a week. We strictly followed his directions and actually kept people from parking on the driveway for over a week. However, once people starting parking on the driveway we noticed the driveway getting torn up from people turning the front tires as they back up and turn around in the driveway. I called Leonard and he returned my call quickly that time and he explained that this may happened because it is so hot out and the asphalt is still cooling down and settling. I ask him if it was because of poor compaction due to rain and he said no. He then came to the house to get the other 50% payment and told my wife to call if the problem gets any worse and he will come back and fix it. Well, it has been a month and the problem has gotten much worse!!! I have taken pictures and videos of the problem every time I notice an issue to document it all. I have now place 4 phone calls and several emails and have yet to receive a response from Leonard. He is ignoring all my attempts to contact him. The driveway looks awful now and I may need someone else to come in and repair it. Although I was pleased with his previous work on the binder coat and initial work/communication on this job, his lack of responsiveness and professionalism on this job has changed my mind! I waited for over a month before writing this review so that he could redeem himself. He has not! I would not recommend Leonard at this point since he doesn't seem to care for his customers if they have issues on his work.

He did a good job. It was fine nothing bad. His prices were in the ballpark. The driveway has been in for a year and a half and the quality looks good.

They do very good work but I would have liked the owner to supervise the grading a little better.
