Rida Plumbing

The Customer Service was great. Nick told me what needed to be done and explained it step by step. It was a trouble shooting situation to see why the hot water wasn't coming to our taps and shower heads.

Rida Plumbing was very responsive when I called, set up an appointment that they promptly kept, and got the work done quickly and correctly. What more could you want in a plumber?

Our hot water tank leaked and we had a flooded basement over labor day weekend.We called Rida plumbing on that Friday of the long weekend and he came over within 15 minutes. We decided to wait until the following week for the quote which we thought was fair and installation was quickly scheduled. We've had no problems and would definitely use Rida Plumbing again.

The most disappointing of the experience was their billing practice. First, they made a mistake with the original deposit I had provided. They gave me credit for $100 less than what I had given them. I find this very unprofessional - I could easily have missed it as it is a sum just small enough to escape one's notice.. Second, they charged me for material even though the original quote was for the job as a whole. That would have been OK if they had given me the details of the material they used. I asked for details, and to date (several months have now passed), I have not received any details from them whatsoever. In contrast, my current plumber lists every part used - even one that costs a few dollars. Given that Rida charged as much as the best plumbers in Amherst, I see no reason to ever use them again. There were other issues - in particular, there ended up being some miscommunication with the contractor who had hired them (I did not know them, nor had any contact with them except at the billing stage.) I do not know who is responsible for the miscommunication, but I had to hire a new plumber to finish the job, busting my budget. On the other hand, the new plumber was absolutely fantastic (see my review of Pickering), and so something good came this. Overall, caveat emptor.

He has done several things for me dating back to 2010. He did a small job for me then and in 2011 he did the plumbing to put in a shower. He is excellent and he certainly did the job and everything is working very well. He is a very clean worker and there is nothing left when he leaves. Everything is in pristine condition. He is very efficient and he is very prompt.
