+ -1 moreThey did a fantastic job and they were professional. I am happy with the results and I do not have any complaints. Three workers came out to do the work and it took about 2.5 hours to complete. Scheduling went well also.
Description of Work: They did some pruning and taking away things that would damaged the house around the yard. This was first time I had used them.

+ -1 moreI've used Karl for the last few years to maintain my trees and shrubs. My experience has always been great. Karl makes it a point to give written estimates with exact locations of trees/shrubs. This year I had him hard prune some crab apples and when I got the estimate I called and said and quot;by the way - please trim the bottoms of my pine hedgeand quot;. When I arrived home they trimmed the wrong hedge. I called Karl and he was very apologetic, although I took responsibility as well. He sent the crew back in 30 minutes and they trimmed the right hedge. He made an adjustment to the invoice (which I did not ask for) and I remain a happy customer. Karl has all the arborist equipment needed and good crews.
Description of Work: I have two weeping crabs that are 25 years old and needed a hard prune. I have used Karl in the past for tall hemlock trimming and storm damage to trees etc.

+ -1 moreWe had a large tree limb that was about 30 feet up and not attached to anything so it was kind of an emergency situation; we did not want it to fall down on somebody. He came out right away, gave us an accurate estimate and then took care of it. Carl is a certified arborist. We thought he was going to come one week but he came the next.
Description of Work: I used Carl Smith of Trees Unlimited to trim some trees and remove a dead branch.

+ -1 moreOverall it went very well. As with all estimates, it's best to be present when defining the job. He came to the house and left me a detailed estimate describing each task and the cost. This was good because I wanted a maple trimmed of a few suckers and he priced the job to trim a honey locust which would have added greatly to the cost.
Description of Work: I have shrubs that have outgrown my landscape and my ability to maintain them. At sixty years old, even though I have all the equipment, I try to avoid the heavy ladder work. Hemlock shrubs are not shrubs really - they want to be towering trees. This is the second time they have come to prune these 20 foot monsters for me. They also removed a foundation evergreen that outgrew the spot and topped off some columnar abrovitae that screen my deck. They removed the trunk of the shrub with a stump grinder and trimed the neighbor's side of the hemlocks which I didn't expect. They have ALL the equipment for maintenance work and large tree removal/trimming. This is not a landscape company - they are arborists and have all the safety equipment you would expect (goggles/ear and protection). When they were done (there were four men) you would not know that they had been here - all of the debris was gone and put through the chopper. Highly recommended. Don't mind the lovely old women that answers the phone - she gets the message to her son (I think it's her son) and if not - try again. It's worth it.

+ -1 moreI don't know if we got their name from Angie's List, but we did take a few quotes from people that were on Angie's List. The experience with Trees Unlimited was good. The price was very reasonable. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.
Description of Work: We used Trees Unlimited in the third week of September. The neighbor's tree was overhanging over the portion of the yard that we wanted to have paved. They pruned two or three trees and one large tree.

+ -1 moreIt turned out very well. Their cleanup was exactly to my specifications; they took everything except the size that I wanted them to leave. They are a little pricey but I am hesitant to go with someone less professional with something that has risks like that.
Description of Work: Trees Unlimited pruned all of our trees after an ice storm and took down one very large tree.
