They were wonderful in cleaning the chimney and explaining everything they were doing. They left the entire area cleaner than when they got there. They were extremely knowledgeable and explained the issues we were having and helped us in straightening everything out for safety. We have another job for them and I would highly recommend them, as I am definitely going to use them again. Thank you for a great job well done from first contact with the company throughout the job done.

They inspected the chimney from up on the roof, something that the chimney sweeps that had been cleaning the chimney since 2016, when we first moved in, had never done. They took pics and showed us how the lining of the chimney was collapsing and it had been in this state for a long time. So in addition to cleaning the chimney, they also replaced the lining inside it. It was an expense I didn't expect, but we use the fireplace a lot and it needed to be done.

If I could give these guys 0 stars I could. First of all, they are horrible at scheduling. They will make an appointment with you and it is a crap shoot as to if anyone will actually show up. Forget about asking for a timeframe. You can wait all day and not have a person show. Secondly, they are scam artists and do poor quality work. I hired them to fix a leak in my chimney. They, to date, have not fixed the leak. On the first visit they recemented the crown, installed an undersized stainless-steel cap, a top mounted damper that opens and slams shut on windy days, and instead of re-flashing the chimney put some black tar all around the bottom and all over my new roof tiles. When we discovered the chimney was still leaking a month later it took many calls and discussions with the rudest person in the office. Finally, someone else came out and proceeded to tell us that we needed some areas re-pointed at a cost of $1068. Not knowing the difference because we are not chimney experts, we agreed to the work just wanting the leak fixed. They also put even more black tar around the base of the chimney on the flashing and had to patch the crown of the chimney because it had more cracks in it. 2 weeks later, during a windstorm, the top mount damper started opening and slamming shut every time there was a wind gust and THE CHIMNEY IS STILL LEAKING. They came back after 5 days of calling and arguing with me and the person who came back told me the entire chimney needed to be re-pointed at a cost of $5000 but because it was close to Christmas he would do it for $2500. It was at that point in time I decided I did not want them working on my Chimney anymore and I did not want to spend anymore money with them. I recently had another local and reputable chimney company come and inspect my chimney and try to get the leak fixed. The result of that inspection is as follows: The chimney flashing is covered in black tar and it is impossible to fix the flashing or see exactly where it is leaking because it would required chiseling away all the tar which would result in damaging the chimney and the roof shingles. The top mount damper was improperly installed because the flue does not extend 2" above the chimney. The type of cement use to fix the crown is not correct and will fail quicker. The stainless-steel cap is undersized and will result in water pooling on the chimney crown causing more leaks. Now I am being told that because of the amount of black tar on the flashing and on the roof tiles, I have to replace the exterior chimney from the roofline up with new lead flashing. I am waiting on quotes from masonry people to see what that will cost. They will try to reuse the top mount damper but will have to install a new stainless-steel cap after the rebuild is complete. Now I am out $500 for "resealing" the flashing, $900 for relaying a new cement crown, $850 for a 13x13 stainless steel damper (if they can't reuse it), $150 for a 9x13 stainless steel cap and $1068 for repointing a few open joints. Also, when I was trying get someone back from Shamrock to fix the damper and leaking issues they would not answer or return my phone calls. I got around this by borrowing someone else's phone which they answered promptly. Definitely the worst at customer service. I do not recommend this company.

I've been looking all over to try and get somebody to clean and inspect the chimney. As you all know they are booking out until spring. I reached out to Angi yesterday and got a call from Shamrock cleaning. They came out today. Did the cleaning and the inspection I was shown the cap on the chimney and it certainly needed to be replaced. They were able to do that today as well.

This company is awful. Home advisors should not have them on their list. The project started on 8/2/22. It was a simple fireplace lining . I have used the fireplace for 32 years without issue. I decided to get it lined. The project started in 8/22 and is not completed. I can not use the fireplace with out the house filling with smoke. Shamrock Chimney came back 12/20/22 and still have nott fixed the problem and they removed my damper so the heat is going up the flue. They do not return calls, send incompetents to do the work if they show up! There is smoke damage done to my home and my fireplace is without a flue ! Buyer Beware!! Interesting Shamrock Chimney review on Home Advisors is. 4.5 stars , online they get about 1 star. Im out $4200, my house is damaged and the whole experience cheapens Home Advisors expertise.

I hired Shamrock Chimney originally for a cleaning, but they told me my chimney was clogging due to my old cap, so they installed 2 chimney caps, both of which fell off in less than 3 short months, I have made several attempts to get the companies attention to get them to come back out and make the needed repairs but they are not communicating with me and they are not getting the job done. At this point I am extremely disappointed in the quality of their work and am absolutely disgusted with their non existent customer service. I wont be recommending this company to anyone and strongly urge prospecting customers to do themselves a huge favor and DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!! You will thank me later

Fast service, professional technicians

The workers were very pleasant and did repair our damper problem, but we feel they overcharged us when they resealed the chimney flashing.

Our technician was very patient with my many questions and made sure I was satisfied with their service before departing. They did a thorough job and was easy to schedule a visit quickly.

We were overcharged. The materials were a fraction of the cost they quoted. Their work was fast, and they were available, but the price was way more than we expected to pay. The workers were very nice but suggested pricey work that we did not need. Since we are not chimney experts, I feel we were taken advantage of.

They tried to string arm me into getting a chimney liner that day! They told me they had to shut off my furnace! Sorry dude, you are not touching my furnace!
