Stay away! The guarantee isn't worth anything if the contractor refuses to acknowledge you after he has been paid. Brian Kniskern was never once prompt for an appointment. I was stood up, rescheduled or left waiting on multiple occasions: for the estimate (rescheduled twice), a meeting at the landscape supply store, and for installation. He also neglected to discuss the contract or deposit, then was upset with me that I didn't have it in cash on the spot. I was home during the installation and indicated a concern regarding the stone finish Brian was installing. He assured me, but it later became apparent that I was correct. His "exposed aggregate" finish was an inch of loose peastone on top of rough asphalt. Not what I wanted. I called and he assured me he would come fix the problem. But as soon as the check cleared, I never heard from him again. I called every day for a month and he didn't answer or return my calls. I later found out that Sealrite is a spin-off of BKJ Paving, his father's company. BKJ has a long history of scamming people. This 3rd generation company isn't about keeping the family's good name, but running from it.

The driveway is beautiful. I know that's a strange term, but it's perfectly graded (no water accumulation), and the kids play basketball and ride skateboards on it all of the time. The old driveway was probably 50 years old and was cracked with a few blades of grass here and there. The crew worked long into the night to finish, and they cleaned up everything. They were personable and professional. They also (a second job) patched my 100 year old house foundation and fixed my crumbling concrete front steps. Same conscientious treatment. Great results.
Description of Work: Took up the old driveway, put in base, asphalted the driveway plus a walkway. He graded the driveway to stop the water from accumulating by the garage and on the walkway.
