Approximate cost of service reflects the price prior to the 30% federal tax credit for renewable energies etc, expiring in 2016. My wife and I got 6-7 estimates from different geothermal installers prior to investing the large amount of money required for this project. We selected Redmond HVAC because of how impressively knowledgeable Tim was during the estimate, and better pricing compared to other companies offering a closed-loop system installation. This was in the Spring '14. In Fall '14, drilling and excavation started for installation of the closed loops in our yard, with appropriate location considering our current well and septic systems (with DigSafe and permits, etc). Due to the harsh winter, there was a delay in the project, but it kicked back up in the early spring with installation of the ventilation duct work, the main heat pump in the basement and the split pump in the attic, and finally with the whole system connected and running well before the summer heat this year! Throughout the installation, we were both impressed at how clean Tim and his crew were around our home, which we easily remained living in all parts of the home during the installation. They were very respectful and considerate, as well: we have a 1 year old and they were able to accommodate his nap times, keep dangerous tools/equipment out of his reach, etc. Tim was also able to work very effectively with 4-5 sub-contractors, including an electrician provided by us. He also pointed out many different things in our home that we could work on to increase our energy efficiency, beyond even what 2 separate MassSAVE evaluations recommended. He also helped trouble shoot our failing oil-burning boiler prior to getting the geothermal system up and running. There were times when the overall time frame for our project wasn't really all that clear to myself or my wife, but in the end the job was done flawlessly and at a much better price than competitor quotes (with no "surprises" during the installation with increased costs). I would definitely hire Redmond HVAC again, and would recommend them highly to anyone looking to install or retrofit a geothermal heating/cooling system in their home.

Redmond HVAC was professional and they performed high quality work. They were one of many contractors working on my new home, and they were by far the cleanest crew. I explored several geothermal installers before selecting Tim, and I very pleased with the work he did. I highly recommend Redmond HVAC for Geothermal installation.

The work began in October 2012 with the drilling of the well outside the front of the house. Redmond met with the well driller at our house so I was able to speak with him as well. The well drilling company was also very well organized and professional. The well was drilled over two days, then a separate group from the same company installed a double plastic pipe with a u connection at the bottom into the well and grouted around the plastic pipe. Then Redmond returned and excavated the area between the well and the house. Then the well drillers returned for a third visit to lead the pipe into the basement at the footing level. Next Redmond removed the old boiler and piping from the hydronic heating system and a second contractor came into the house to install the ducting. This took several days. Then Redmond returned again to install the heat pump in the cellar and make all the connections. After a checkout, the system was turned on. We have now had the system in operation for about a year and a quarter. Our heating, hot water, and electric bill are about half what they were prior to the installation of the new system. I was very pleased with Redmond HVAC. The owner was very professional and knowledgable. I was particularly grateful that he was willing to work with me on the design.
