Appraisal was very low, comparables weren't even close. $35k below zillow & redfin that weren't even accounting for the almost $100k in additions, landscaping and improvements. The appraisal closer to $100k below value. Plus I was charged more than quoted.

I asked him to get it done in 2 weeks, if he could I would give him the job. Weeks went by, didnt hear back, out of blue a month later, he said he is working on it. Still no response, texted him, for every 5 or so texts, would not get one in return. Overall it was a terrible experience. We needed this for legal reasons and he knew that. It was a time sensitive situation, he never did the work. After 3 or 4 months, I got my money back and Im content to get my money back.

Once contact Jay was very quick to respond, and schedule a time within a week to come out and review the property. He communicated a slight delay in getting the appraisal and then delivered it when he said he would.

My case was simple I had an appraisal done several months ago from another company but I was uncertain if a new one and still is necessary as I am going through a mediation divorce. So via by phone after further discussion with Jay he highly was confident the value of my home and being very familiar with the area would be higher especially with the addition of my home improvements that were made. Results came in and that was absolutely not the case. I actually put $21,000 worth of improvements ( includes labor though as this was contractual work) after the old appraisal during that period of time. Improvements for those who are curious: vinyl siding, flooring, fiber glass exterior door and replacement of central A/C to the home that he said would be factored in and it resulted in a disappointing $1000 worth in value. I challenged his decision this morning and he said now to me " cost of investing doesn't always equate to value towards home" So my negative review from this ordeal stems for his lack of communication and every realtor I dealt with and article I read has always indicated investing in home Does equate to some form of value. In my case a mere 1% ??
