Independent Garage Door

First, there was an opening in their schedule, so they were able to install my garage door earlier than expected. Vincent was professional and knowledgeable. He explained the steps he was going to take and why they were necessary. He made suggestions to improve the performance of the door. Vincent even helped me troubleshoot my finicky garage door opener. Before he left, Vincent cleaned my garage. When I spoke with Mike initially, he said they do not subcontract the work. They have only experienced installers. Vincent certainly seemed like a highly trained professional.

On time. Very professional. Didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need. Worked very quickly. Knew what they were doing. Would recommend to anyone needing door work.

Excellent. They arrived on time and completed the work, which was difficult because of the way the space is, and because the doors are old. Afterward one of the doors had an issue with clicking and not closing. They came out and explained the cause of the issue and adjusted the sensors for no extra charge.

It is hard to find someone who does repairs at a good price, does quality work, and communicates. Independent Garage Door has all of them!!! Got an excellent price for a garage door replacement. Excellent communication all the way through after initial contact even when manufacturers were late with their deliveries. The installation was excellent and fixed all kinds of problems with the initial installation. Total dedication to quality. Recommend with no hesitation.

Perfect! Excellent work, efficient, knowledgeable. Did not try to upsell me! Fixed both doors, and fixed one automatic opener with minimal repair. Gave me a good understanding about what to do with the other opener and quoted me a fair price. Great guys. No BS. Highly recommend. Will have them do the other door opener when I'm ready.

Really good. There was a long wait for the doors to come in. Once they did come in the installment was smooth. They catered to our needs, we live in the country and he customized it to keep the mice out.

Mark, co-owner and twin brother to Mike, showed up on time and very friendly but professional. Mark thoroughly checked the door and all the mechanicals, tightened and added some bolts. Lubricated rollers and springs. He checked the tracks and made minor adjustments. A joy to work with this vendor. Even the office staff (Nichole) is professional, friendly and accommodating.

Mike (co-owner) and Vin installed a new controller, two remotes, external key pad and internal switch. Mike noticed there was some bowing in the door when opened and closed which would create problems. By addressing it then it was saving me an issue later down to road. He treats the customers as though he is doing the work on his house. Both Mike and Vin are extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and customer focused. I liked them so much I had my other garage door issue addressed by them. I'll write in another review. Prices very competitive.

Originally planned on getting three estimates to replace our aging/failing garage doors. Based on a friend’s advice and Angie’s List ratings…I started with Independent Garage Door. Mike Dow, one of the company’s owners, came to our house and provided excellent advice as to the design and specs (among a bazillion options) of replacement doors that would be perfect for us. He made no attempt to up-sell us…or try to talk us into a cheaper but sub-standard product. Independent has a full-time office manager which made setting up the initial appointment easy and provided an always available resource to call to ask questions. That wasn’t the case with other vendors I called. We went with Independent Garage Door without bothering with additional estimates based on our positive reaction to Mike’s visit and advice. It turned out to be a good decision. The doors were delayed a little by the manufacturer, but Independent’s office manager kept us up-to-date on scheduling throughout the process and the final result is beautiful new garage doors installed quickly and professionally (consistent with Mike’s philosophy that he won’t sell/install a door that he wouldn’t put in his own home). I’d recommend this company to anyone for garage door replacement or service.

He was able to immediately see and fix the problem without any work. He was expert handling the problem, and did not charge me even though he had taken 1r5 minutes of his time to get to me.

He arrived on time and prepared. The work was completed quickly, and was done for a great price. He inspected both garage doors and openers. He also made sure that the new remotes were working properly. We will keep this company on speed-dial for anything related to our garage.

Appointment was set and they showed up promptly on time. Work was done quickly and price was very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to hire again for any garage door needs. On this particular service call Independent replace a set of springs on one door and installed safety cable on both doors in my garage.

Called Independent Garage Door. We scheduled an appointment and two men showed up on time. After a quick assessment, they determined the door was easily repairable and set about correcting all the things the previous company said were not worth fixing. It turns out one of the men was Mark, co-owner of Independent Garage Door (Family business started by Marks grandfather in the 1940's}. In the end, several parts which were clearly worn out were replaced followed by a very thorough cleaning and "tweaking" of the door adjustments to get the door to close smoothly and completely. Mark and his partner were extremely professional, very knowledgeable and explained everything. They worked as a team that clearly knew what they were doing. I could not be more pleased with the work, the cleanup and the price. Just wish I had found this great family run business years ago.

I contacted these folks because of the amazing reviews here. Good reviews = busy. They were making appointments a week out. As the appointed date approached I started to worry that they might not be able to get to me because of the blizzard. I called the office the morning of the blizzard and was told that they would be doing their best to get to all of their jobs, including an emergency commercial job, and that I should expect them in an hour or so. In spite of the blizzard (14" of blowing snow expected; airports, towns, and businesses, closed) they arrived and in timely fashion! They made several adjustments, lubricated everything, now the door works fine and is a bit quieter than it was. We'll be getting in touch with them in the spring to replace at least one garage door (previous owners dented a panel) and one garage door opener (so that my wife doesn't jump out of her skin whenever I open the garage door and she's in the room directly above).

Very well. The two man crew worked and finished the entire project in 1 day. They installed a high quality door and lift, we are very happy with the results!

Called Independent Garage Door around one pm that day. They apologized, as they could not get anyone over that day. They could, however, get someone over the next day. So much faster than I expected. Mark came and took a look at the door. He was amazingly professional, friendly, honest, and knowledgeable ! He did efficient work to the garage door, and I honestly think it works better than before. If you need garage door guys, these are the exact people you should hire. I swear, you will be god you did. This company is defiantly on my list of folks I will call again!

Called Independent Garage due to a stuck garage door. They returned my call quickly, scheduled the crew to come out the same week and fixed the issue quickly with a new quiet garage door opener. I can barely hear the thing open and close now, very happy. Mark was super professional and helpful. Highly recommended.

I was given an appointment quickly, and the men showed up according to plan. I showed them the problem (my very squeaky garage door) and they quickly saw several issues responsible for the noise and affecting the safety of the installation, and the longevity of the door. I was so impressed that I asked them to look at the other garage door, which had no apparent problem. The safety device on the spring on that door was not connected through the spring and the door did not have a brace at the top. The men did the work quickly, cheerfully, and professionally, and the bill was very reasonable. I highly recommend Independent Garage Door.

They replaced the cables, rollers and bearings on both doors. Everything works great, and the cables no longer hang over the rails

I did some research and figured i was probably over my head (no pun intended). So I found Independent and reached out. Within a matter of hours, Candy responded and said she could have someone out to take a look the next morning between 9 and 12. we went back and forth a bit and over email they gave me a rough ballpark figure. The guys showed up about 9:30 and immediately knew that it was bad pulleys. Within a half hour the doors were back to being quiet and not wobbling anymore. These guys know what they're doing and even took the time to explain the difference between the quality of pulleys they use versus what I had in there.

Highly recommend! Replaced my garage door. They had a lot of jobs going so it took some time to get them to come by. They missed one appointment and I had to reschedule another. They did a great job on the install. Family owned and operated. I would hire them again without hesitation.

After finding Lynoka on Angies list and having such a bad experience with them, I was a little hesitant to try again, but did find very good reviews for Independent Garage Doors and gave them a try. They were easy to work with scheduling the appointment and were proactive in trying to analyze the problem before they came so that they were prepared on the day they came. On they day they came, they quickly found the issue. They didn't have the exact part in the truck, but said they would be back in 30 minutes with a part, which they were and quickly installed and fixed the door. Because they had to leave to get a new part, I was half expecting a second service call charge, but in looking at the bill, it didn't appear that they added anything extra and the cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend Independent Garage and will use them for any future needs I have.

We had to put off installation for several months because we needed to clean out our garage. Although they were storing the doors we ordered, at no charge, there was no pressure to schedule an installation date. Everyone we dealt with- the owner, the assistant installer, and the operator/receptionist, were always pleasant, efficient, an true to their word. The owner and his assistant, a company employee, arrived on the scheduled date - ON TIME!! I was present during during the installation, and was impressed by the knowledge, care and attention to details exhibited by these men. The installation took maybe 5 or 6 hours. I was also impressed by the fact that they schedule only one installation per day, so that if there is some sort of problem or delay, they can finish the job, rather than leaving the job to go to another customer. The men were very courteous to me, and got along very well. I think this cooperative spirit facilitated the installation. Each one worked on one door, and would offer help to the other when necessary. Bottom Line: I was impressed that the owner actually did the installation work, explained the operation of the the openers, the materials used in the manufacture of the doors- very solid well made product - and told me to call him if we ever had any trouble with the doors. My wife and I are extremely happy with the work done by INDEPENDENT GARAGE DOOR COMPANY!
