At this time I have decided to hold off . Price was too much along with the other reviews not being good.

HD Pro Services farmed my gutter job out,,, It took 4-5 return visits to get my brand new gutteres from leaking.... It took 2 phone calls to the home office on ATL just to get any action to resolve my issues. This was not a customer expericance that was good... I would really have to think hard and get a large price advantage over other companies to use them again!

Three years later, my $8000 roof still leaks, every time it rains. Despite numerous visits from home depot people, who tell me that it doesn't leak. I have just spoken (again) to someone who tells me that they will fix it. Shingles fall off of the roof, it is buckled. I have had no fewer than 6 different people look at it and tell me that it doesn't even appear to be a professional job (handy men, and men who are handy). ,he
Description of Work: The entire project was a disaster, from start to finish. I chose Home Depot, despite the fact that they were significantly higher than the other quotes that I got, because I was told that they would stand behind their work and would be in business in 20 years, unlike other companies. We had a crew who were not even associated with Home Depot, and spoke very little english. I was told that it was OK to install a roof in the cold weather, because they "did it all the time". Later, when the shingles were buckling, falling off, and the roof was leaking, I was told that it was because it was installed when it was too cold outside. The roof leaks around the flashing where the bathroom vent comes out. The Home Depot people tell me that the roof isn't leaking, despite the ceiling buckling in at the spot where the flashing comes in, and the bucket full of water in the middle of my bathroom. But it isn't leaking. They tell me to call when it is raining, so they can see where it is coming in from. When I call, they can't come for three days (when it is no longer raining).

The live chat person at the Home Depot website walked me through the process of buying a new stove on their site. She assured me that the techs they sent would install the stove and remove the old one. The techs arrive an hour late, outside of the 4 hour window, telling me someone had been hurt; I don't blame the techs for being late. What annoys is that they couldn't do the install because in MA, you need a licensed plumber to unhook the gas connection. I used a customer service person so I didn't do the research myself. I buy one stove every ten years. The Home Depot site, I'm guessing movies dozens of stoves in MA a day; why didn't t hey warn me I might need a plumber? Why didn't I see a disclaimer when I paid for the install fee--that it might not really cover the installation? I sent an email to Home depot asking for reimbursement for the plumber bill. They haven't answered 3 days later.

On July 13, 2005, my wife and I contracted with The Home Depot At-Home Services for installation of a new roof. Although Home Depot promised that we would be provided with a Home Depot supervisor during the entire job, who would ensure our complete satisfaction, no Project Manager ever showed up. After 2 days, we were asked to sign an apparent certificate of completion lacking any inspection by a supervisor. The crew then left, leaving behind all of their left-over work materials, including soffit vents that were to have been installed on our house! We soon discovered that they had put a quarter-sized hole through the siding on our house; had failed to its natural and pre-existing condition window trim that they altered during roofing; had failed to trim out the roofline in a professional and cosmetically acceptable way; had apparently installed metal trim on the garage right over rotted wood; and had failed to seal the nails on the garage. It was impossible for the crew not to have realized the damage they had done to our house. A year later, we were still waiting for the 2nd story trim to be remedied and properly and professionally installed; and for the siding on the side of the house to be re-painted to as close to prior condition as possible. Home Depot At-Home Service informed Home Depot Credit Services - again, with no attempt whatsoever to verify this directly with my wife and me - that the job had been satisfactorily completed, and that they should therefore consider my one-year-no-payments-no interest financing to have been satisfied and that charges should start accruing. Despite repeated requests, we were never able to determine precisely when Home Depot considered the job satisfactorily completed, nor did we ever receive a what we considered to be a valid certificate of completion, to allow us to substantiate the one-year-no-payments-no-interest financing promised to us, after the work that was promised to be completed to our complete satisfaction in "3-4" days went on for over two years. The small discount that Home Depot At-Home Services finally extended to us nearly 2 years later was completely negated by accruing interest charges that Home Depot Credit Services insisted could not be rolled back, leaving my wife and me no recourse whatsoever to contest what we had to pay for the work performed. Our choices were to pay too much for the work, or pay WAY too much for the work performed. Satisfaction guaranteed indeed. Over a 2-year period, we had to call Home Depot At-Home services more than 50 times, and send them numerous certified letters, and deal with 22 different people. Despite repeated requests, Home Depot At-Home Depot Services refused to ever meet with us face-to-face. We found their professionalism, responsiveness, reliability, and workmanship to be among the worst we have ever seen.

Be aware: Home Depot uses subcontractors for their work. Half the time they do not speak English and there is no supervision. They were in a hurry to get the job done so they could proceed with another. There is no way of checking the references for these subcontractors that they use. Be weary about the subcontractors. Make sure they have an HIC license before they do the work.

Went well, mainly went with HD since they installed a few windows before for us and it was very smooth. When you get an estimate, they send the initial person over to "sell" you on the windows and take some initial measurements. Once you sign, you are assigned a project manager and then somebody else comes to do final measurements before they send it off to the factory for the windows. Turnaround time was less than 2 weeks. Installation time for the windows (2 guys) was 1 day. They did a decent, but not excellent, job of cleaning up. Would recommend- but they are a bit pricey (over $500 per window installed for the 6100 series- add another $70 or so per window for the 6500) but you have the insurance of complaining to HD if you have problems. If I could do it again, I'd probably use somebody else recommended on Angie's List and save some money.
Description of Work: Installed 6 double hung 6100 series windows and one basement window with exterior aluminum wrapping. Windows meet all MA regulations for Energy Efficiency.

I got a call back right away after leaving a message at the Home Services number. Salesman Steve Dana arrived at my house right on time the evening he was scheduled to consult with me about the windows. He was pleasant, answered all my questions and did a thorough job of explaining what would be involved. John Landry arrived right on time the morning he came to do the final measuring for the windows and go over what to expect on the day of installation. He was pleasant and efficient. I got a call from Robin Hoey about a week later, telling me the windows were ready and offering to install them within a couple of days. The installer, Bob Louvat, came on time, worked steadily and cleaned up. He also helped me with two other windows that were stuck.
Description of Work: Supplied and installed three windows, basement hopper window and two double hung windows.

18 months ago I decided, against a gut feeling, to select Home Depot for my roof replacement, because they could do it on my aggressive time frame (winter approaching) and I liked the sound of the lifetime installation warranty. Their price was in line with other quotes I had received. The new roof was adequate, but during the roof installation they left the tarps incompletely covering the in-progress work, and that night it poured rain. A torrent of water came into the building, damaging ceilings, walls, and property. That was bad enough, but I have been chasing Home Depot ever since the event, 18 months ago, for a resolution to the damages. I can't begin to enumerate the times I've spoken to various people at Home Depot. On the plus side their credit department has been very good and I still haven't paid them a cent. On the minus side I'm flabbergasted at the lack of attention this matter receives from Home Depot. Dealing with them is like dealing with any large bureaucrat.

THE TREATMENT THAT I RECEIVED AS THE LADY OF THE HOUSE WAS UNCALLED FOR.
Description of Work: THE ESTIMATOR REFUSED TO PROVIDE ME INFORMATION BECAUSE MY HUSBAND AND CO-OWNER WAS NOT AT HOME. WHEN HE RETURNED TO TALK TO BOTH OF US, I STAYED AWAY UNTIL CALLED. I WAS NOT CALLED IN TO HEAR THE INFORMATION. I WAS APPALLED AT THE "LITTLE LADY TREATMENT" AND WOULD NOT CALL HOME DEPOT AGAIN.

I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WORKING WITH HOME DEPOT TO REPLACE OUR ROOF. I HAD BEEN TRYING TO GET A ROOFING COMPANY TO RESPOND TO MY REQUESTS FOR QUOTES. I CONTACTED LOTS OF COMPANIES FOR THE RE-ROOFING JOB AND VERY FEW ACTUAL QUOTES FOR THE JOB. HOME DEPOT WAS VERY RESPONSIVE AND GOT THE JOB DONE VERY QUICKLY AFTER I SIGNED THE WORK AGREEMENT. NOTES: HOME DEPOT WILL ONLY DO A STRIP AND RE-ROOF, THEY WON'T SHINGLE OVER AN EXISTING ROOF. IN MY CASE I KNEW I HAD SOME ROTTEN WOOD AND WANTED THE ROOF STRIPPED DURING THE JOB. MY ONLY COMPLAINT ABOUT THE WHOLE PROCESS WAS THAT I DIDN'T KNOW THE EXACT DAYS THAT THE SUB-CONTRACTOR WOULD SHOW UP (THOUGH THEY TOLD ME THE WEEK). I WASN'T EXPECTING THEM THE DAY THAT THEY DID SHOW UP, SO I HAD ALMOST LEFT FOR WORK BEFORE THEY SHOWED UP.
Description of Work: HOME DEPOT AT-HOME SERVICES WAS A CONTRACTOR FOR REPLACING THE ROOF ON OUR HOUSE. THE ROOF WAS STRIPPED, ROTTEN WOOD WAS REPLACED, AND THE HOUSE WAS RE-ROOFED. FLASHING, DRIP-EDGES AND SOME FASCIA BOARDS WERE ALSO REPLACED. THE ACTUAL WORK WAS DONE BY A DIFFERENT COMPANY AS A SUB-CONTRACTOR. HOME DEPOT ARRANGED FOR THE PERMIT, THE DUMPSTER, DELIVERY OF ALL SUPPLIES, AND THE MANAGEMENT OF THE ENTIRE PROCESS. I WAS TOLD THAT THE SUB-CONTRACTORS WERE FINISHING UP OUR JOB TO SPEND THE FOLLOWING WEEK WORKING ON THE PBS SHOW "THIS OLD HOUSE".
