Description of Work: Renovated a bathroom. Did not anticipate issues that a more experienced contract would have; installed a heating system under the tile floor that does not work; finish work is sloppy; painting is sloppy; drilled holes in the wall that came through to the room next door; tile work was sloppy - did not anticipate issues that came up; overall not a good job.

+ -1 moreI have used Conte Improvements & Remodeling ever since I moved into my townhouse in 2008. It was in a 25-year-old condo development, and badly needed updating of the bathrooms and kitchen. Conte Improvements & Remodeling not only met--but exceeded--my expectations on these various jobs. Conte Improvments & Remodeling is FANTASTIC with tile work, in particular--do a very careful job with quality materials that will last for years. Visitors to my home always compliment me on the two bathrooms and the kitchen that Conte remodeled--they look outstanding. Karin and Diedra are also very pleasant to work with--they are respectful of the owner's wishes, but offer helpful suggestions on how the owner's goals can be achieved--they made me think about several issues that I had not considered, and my remodeling jobs were more successful because of their suggestions. Conte also has very good subcontractors they work with for plumbing, electricity, and plastering. I have been pleased with the other people they've brought in as well, and Conte Improvements & Remodeling always takes great care to make sure that you are comfortable with the subcontractors they bring into your home. I give them my highest recommendation.
Description of Work: Latest job: Painted living room and loft area, including cathedral ceiling. Previous job (2008-2013): 1. Remodeled bathroom to be a handicapped bathroom, including installation of a custom-size shower, accessible height toilet, new sink and mirror, grab bars, and tile work. 2. Installed tile floor with radiant heat in basement, painted basement room, and installed a new slider door. 3. Remodeled another bathroom, widening it to allow for installation of a longer, deeper, jetted tub, new sinks, new vanity and medicine cabinet, new accessible height toilet, grab bars, and tile work. Required knocking out adjacent bedroom wall and then rebuilding the bedroom closet in a different location. 4. Completely demolished and remodeled kitchen--new cabinetry, stone tile floor, and new granite tops, new recessed lights and under-counter lights,
