+ -1 moreThe price they quoted me was $1,000 for that work. They were professional and nice. The woman that came out was very nice. They came out when they said they were going to, but I did not have the work done. Their pricing was too expensive for me.
Description of Work: The Garden Design Group DC LLC came out in March 2009 and gave me an estimate for digging a very small trench of bamboo barrier and also digging up some part of the property for planting.

+ -1 moreThis was the follow up to the hardscaping consultation services in Spring, March 2008. In this phase we collaborated on what to plant. There were numerous conversations, emails and modification to the formal design scheme, based on availability and whether I liked a particular shrub or flower or not. I also decided to keep some of the perennials that I had already planted as an experiment this summer '08. Working with Jane is great. She even shared some of the plants from her own garden with me. One of the things about the way she works is that she keeps on budget and is very open to what you want not what she wants. Her advice, services and consultation were well worth every penny. She even indicated that her approach is to visit her gardens a year or two after planting. We wanted to plant a particular flower in two raised beds but they were not available. Jane indicated she would look out for them in the Spring of 2009. Her personal touch is one of the things that I really like about working with her.

+ 0 moreI found this company on a community ListServ. The comments were excellent. I've wanted to do this for some time and had had a couple of estimates. The process started with an initial consultation at no cost. Next site inventory, measuring, pics, lots and lots of rich discussion and emails about what I wanted and what Jane recommended. She's very knowledgeable about gardening and landscape design. We did sign a formal contract outlining work expectations. Her services also included oversight of the installation of the hardscaping. She worked directly with the company that did the actual work. I can't say enough good things about how much I enjoyed working with Jane on this project. She is very easy to work with and patient. She makes sure you're happy with her services.
Description of Work: Received professional landscape design consultation and services. The focus of this work new hardscaping of the front yard.
