+ -1 moreWe were interested in getting our front stairs re-done and replacing our walkway (that was falling apart) with a new and different design. When we were out & about, we saw a walkway that we liked and approached the home-owner to ask if he could tell us who the mason was. When we heard it was Woolard Contracting, we checked Angie's List and noted only one review; however, we called and the younger Woolard, Ryan, came out to meet with us. We received a proposal from them and from one other masonry company. Although the quotes were competitive, we liked Ryan Woolard's approach to the way in which the stairs would be done and Ryan's demeanor better than the other contractor. We asked him if they could pull out all of the shrubbery across the front of our house and even though they're not in the landscape business, they did that as well. I wasn't too sure about where I wanted the walkway curve to end; so he took the time to lay out a form and paint it on the ground for me to see. He was polite, patient, and professional. When we asked about pavers, he sent us to the place where they do business; so we could see the different kinds to determine the type and color we wanted. This was in May when they said they could start the job sometime around the 1st week in August with weather being one of the influencing factors. The work was started on schedule on a Friday, they worked that Saturday and every day till they completed the job on the following Friday. Ryan with Mac and a younger helper, Nick, were very conscientious and worked hard every day till the job was completed. They cleaned up every day before they left, too. They accomplished what they said they would and we are very pleased with the end result. The granite stairs and walkway look great! We would not hesitate to recommend them for any masonry work.
Description of Work: They built new front stairs with the platform & steps of granite and tore up the old flagstone walkway that was in dire need of repair and replaced it with pavers in a new, curved design.
