Star Locksmith

My sister was moving into a new condo in Arlington and needed some locks changed. I did some research on Angie's List and called Star Locksmith...spoke with "Bulent", the owner - he was able to meet my husband over at the condo within an hour and quickly and efficiently rekeyed the locks to her unit. One thing my husband liked about him was that he didn't try and sell him something that my sister did not need. He seemed very honest and his price was very reasonable. Our experience was so good with him, that we hired him again on 2/10/12 to come back and change the locks on the outside front and back doors as well. Again, he was right on time for this appointment, and completed the job with no problems. Would definitely hire again and refer him to others as well.

Bulent arrived on time and did the work quickly. He cleaned up after himself. he does quality work for a good price. I highly recommend him.

Bulent had installed deadbolts and repaired locks for us in the past, so I did not hesitate to call him for this job. I called and left a message. He got back to me promptly and was able to come and look at the knob within about 20 minutes. He took the knob apart, quickly determined the source of the problem, obtained replacement parts from his truck, and fixed the knob. Bulent is always extremely efficient and professional.

I cannot say enough nice things about Bulent. He was friendly, personable, and affordable. He hails from Turkey, which might put some people off. He may have an accent, but does he know locks! I read a bunch of reports on the list before zeroing in on Star, and the rates charged were much higher from all the other providers whose reports I read. If you want prompt, efficient service, don't hesitate. This man is a magician when it comes to locks and keys. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

I like that they have reasonable prices and their service is fast. I will use their services again in the future.

Bulent was very responsive. He took care to provide details over the phone. He arrived on time and got to work right away. He went about the work in a systematic and efficient way. He had a new set of keys ready in no time. He provided details as he worked on the locks. Highly recommended.

The entire experience was excellent. We were provided a quote on the phone. We were able to schedule the service promptly. Bulent was very professional, felt comfortable having him in my home, and he cleaned up everything when he was finished. Bulent at Star Locksmith was extremely responsive when I called. He was willing to come that afternoon but my work schedule didn't accomodate so we agreed to another morning that same week. He arrived very promptly. When I opened the door he introduced himself and showed me his business card and picture ID. I showed Bluent the problem locks and he immediately went to work. He fixed the deadbolt, the sticky lock set and cut 3 new keys for rme. Before he left, Bluent asked me to test the locks and try the new keys to be sure everything worked. He was professional, quick, and very helpful. I would definitely call him again. He is a tad expensive but I am happy with the results and that is most important to me.

I found them on the list and he was A rated and he gave a discount to Angies List members. He would have come the same day, it wasn’t an emergency, but he came by the agreed on time. He did the work and he did a nice job and did a couple of extra things and it was about $76 or something like that. I took his card and gave it to my tenants, landlord and I think I told my office that I think I found a really good locksmith. I called him because he was A rated and because he gave a 10% discount to Angies List members and I was very impressed with his price, responsiveness and he was a really nice guy. I think the price came to $76 after the discount. He offered to come that day, but that day wasn’t good for me and the landlord wasn’t around that day, which was a Friday. I arranged it him to come on Wednesday and he came with his truck with everything on it to see what I needed. He moved the place of hinge plate a little bit, which he said posed a problem. He put in a new lock and I asked him for two keys and he gave me 4 keys. I called the landlord to get the price approved and said that it was about $84 and that there was a 10% Angies List discount off. I gave the card to my landlord and he said that is his new locksmith because he owns 6 properties. The tenant was a builder and he called me and asked who the lock smith I used is and I said I left his card on the bulletin board. I sent a broadcast to my office saying he is great lock smith for the area.

The deadbolt knob from our tenant's apartment had broken, probably because the deadbolt did not line up very well with the hole in the door jamb. I called two locksmiths. I have not yet heard back from the first, but the prices of work done for other angie's list members seemed high to me, even though reviewers were saying it was a great price to replace a deadbolt for over $200 or $300. Bulent came within a few hours of my call. He is a perfectionist! He had to drill and chisel things a bit larger for the better quality door lock to fit, and with each step he tested, adjusted, and tested again, so that we now have a stronger door lock the works very smoothly. Both the price and quality of work are exceptional. I highly recommend Star Locksmith.

WONDERFUL! I called at about 9:30am and and Bulent got here at 10am! He instantly fixed the lock. He said he would just charge for the service visit (not the work) since it took about 2 minutes. He then asked how I had heard about him - I said Angie's List and he said - oh then you get a 10% discount and knocked 5 off the original $45. It was such a relief to have the lock fixed so quickly, I would definitely call him again if we need any lock work done and would highly recommend him to anyone!

I called Bulent on a Thursday, he scheduled an appointment on a Saturday morning, and then when that didn't work out for my sister he came at 7 PM on a Friday. He was on time, professional, fast and did excellent work.

II called Bulent to see about replacing 2 locks in my house. He was extremely prompt in responding to my request. He came to my house and completed the work within a few hours of my initial call. He was very personable and patient and took the time to explain all my options to me. He also took the time to help me with my garage door opener which was not part of the service for which I was charged. I had a very pleasant experience and would not hesitate to recommend Bulent/Star Locksmith.

I have a two family house and while cleaning I went through a whole ziplock bag full of keys and I think I threw out the keys to my second unit. It wasn't really known until my tenant went away for the weekend and asked me to watch her dog. She left earlier in the day so when I got home from work Saturday morning I was in a panic, looking for the keys. I looked for hours, finally around 8 I called a couple locksmiths. I called Star locksmith first because of their reviews and appeared to be reasonable priced however I got a voicemail so I left a message around 7:30 am, then I had called Bonded Lock Service and Total Security and also had to leave a message for them. I was so concerned about getting the dog out, I was desperate almost. So I wanted until about 8:30 and called Star Service again, apologizing about calling again and explaining my situation. They were so professional and seemed to understand my situation so he said he could be by 10-10:30 the latest. He ended up coming around 10 and unlocked the door in a few minutes. He had made a key for me in about 5 minutes as well. He was prompt, professional, clean, and ensured that I was the owner of the house as he asked for some paperwork to proof so. When my tenant moves out I will be calling him to rekey all the doors. Still, Bonded Lock Service and Total Security have not returned my call.

I had a 100 year old+ lock on my front door that gave out. I called Star Locksmith thinking I would have to replace the lock for a small fortune. Instead, they repaired the lock on the spot (no easy task since many parts were worn) and charged me less than half of what I was expecting to pay. The next day I had a minor problem with the lock and I called them. They were at my house within 45 minutes, spent another 45 minutes repairing the problem and did not charge me anything. Absolutely A+

Bulent was very prompt in returning my call, came over shortly after the call to give an estimate for the work. He was very patient while my wife and I went back and forth over the type of door handle. He probably was asked to make at least one trip too many. Through it all he was very patient and professional with us. I don't believe you will go wrong with Bulent

I called Star Locksmith on a Saturday evening to replace a deadbolt an electrician installed.The deadbolt installed by the electrician didn't lock automatically when the door was shut. The electrician said the the deadbolt he used was the only one that would allow residents to keep the same key that unlocked the deadbolt as well as three other doors. The electrician did electrical work to allow the convenience of buzzing in guests from inside residents' units, however the deadbolt he installed defeated the purpose of the work done because guests would have to be escorted out in order to lock the door behind them. In addition residents were required to manually lock the door when arriving and leaving the building. Before the new deadbolt was installed, the door would lock when shut. I was able to get a locksmith to come the next day. I was impressed that they could send someone so quickly and on a Sunday. The locksmith quickly replaced the deadbolt with one that locks automatically when the door shuts. He also arranged it so the key that unlocked the deadbolt also unlocked the three other doors in the building. He also had to move the release the electrician installed closer to the deadbolt so it would reach the new deadbolt. When he moved the release, he found a piece of paper that the electrician used as a workaround because there wasn't enough voltage to raise the release when the buzzer was pressed. Mr. Hatipoglu removed the piece of paper and the coils in the release and replaced them with copper, which increased the voltage to allow the buzzer to work properly. He not only replaced the deadbolt, the only job he was hired to do, he also fixed the botched job the electrician did the previous day. I was very impressed with Star Locksmith. They did an excellent job quickly and very reasonably priced. I definitely will use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs a locksmith.

I was buying a new home and wanted to the doors rekeyed, I made and appointment a week in advance with owner of the company and he showed up exactly on time and was done with the job in 1/2 hour or so. I had only counted 4 locks when I got the estimate and they included the fifth for free as a courtesy.

Great experience all around. Bulent took our call right away and was able to be at our new home to do the work the day after closing. He was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to listen to what we thought we wanted and gave advice on what made the most sense and would be most cost effective for us. He also worked quickly and cleaned everything up afterward. It was a pleasure working with him.

Amazing service, price, quality...everything. We just bought a new house and had to have the locks changed and a doorknob with a lock installed. We had some problems and delays with our house closing and Bulent (the locksmith) was super flexible and made things work given our frenetic schedule. Despite three reschedules, he showed up on time, was super friendly, professional and careful around our new house. The work he did was super fast and done at a high quality level. We asked for four keys and he even gave us two extra (for a total of six). AWESOME. If we need a locksmith ever again, we will definitely use Star Locksmith.
