Serviceman was on-site to look at another problem, so we asked if he would take a look at the garbage disposal, which had stopped working just the day before. Replacement cost $680 installed. I thought that sounded awfully high when I authorized it on the phone, but remembered that the unit was expensive when originally installed and was promised that it would be comparable in quality and capacity. I looked into costs on-line and found that the unit costs about $250, so something seemed amiss. I called the office and found that the replacement unit and ancillary parts cost about $350. $680 is just their price, there was no mistake. This simply is what they believe is their value for being so responsive. I think it's nutty to use them except in emergencies. Lesson learned.

My 4 1/2 yr. old refrigerator was not working properly. The technician checked the refrigerator, told me what was wrong - major problem, expensive to repair. He then said that it might still be under warranty. I called the manufacturer and to my surprise was told the problem was covered but the refrigerator had to be checked out by an "authorized" service person. So he came and confirmed Same Day's diagnosis and sent someone to fix it no charge for labor and parts. Second time I've used Same Day and same prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous service. The information on the warranty saved me a major repair or replace cost and was well worth the fee they charged.

Ultimately, in consultation with a company technician, concluded the washing machine would not be worth fixing and subsequently cancelled my appointment, saving me both my time and the cost of a in-home service call. When calling to make an appointment, the receptionist, Susan, did ask questions to describe the problem. She told me she was suspicious, but not certain, that the problem might be the bearings needing replacement, which usually means buying a new machine. Not knowing definitively, I went ahead and made the appointment, but within 40 mins received a phone call back from a technician, Rich. After going through troubleshooting with him over the phone it was apparent that the problem was definitely the bearings, so I was able to cancel the appointment and save everyone's time and my appointment fee ($129). We spoke for between 5 - 10 minutes and he further recommended the brand of washing machine I currently have as having notably better longevity among front-loading washing machines. Rich was very courteous on the phone, respectfully answering my questions, and I greatly appreciate the professionalism of both the company's representatives that I spoke with (hence this review). I will contact them again when I need service.

The repair was successful, but the price was extravagantly high.

I called the company and they did return the call on the next business day. I spoke with a women who asked what was needed. I informed her that my Samsung side by side refrigerator was not cooling enough and the freezer was not getting cold at all. She said she understood. I then proceeded to tell her that I did some troubleshooting on my own. I did inform her that I have an Electrical Degree and that I was familiar with troubleshooting HVAC Controls. She immediately interrupted me in mid sentence to tell me they would not work on anything that was serviced or trouble shot by anyone else!! This was a shock to me, due to the fact that everyone no matter who, does some basic troubleshooting. During our conversation, I tried to explain that with some troubleshooting, I would be able to help her service technician pin point the problem.. She responded, their company could not warranty their work since some other entity worked on it previously. I went on to give an example, if someone called various repair companies to fix their refrigerator or any other appliance and they were unsuccessful, then they called your company and decided to be honest and tell you what has transpired previously with the other companies, your company would not come out to do a repair. She said that is correct, I explained, if they or I lied about what was done previously they would come out and work on it. She said good day sir and hung the phone up. So what I am left to believe is that, their company will only work on an appliance that they have full control over. Which in turn means they can tell anyone what part or parts they need and they control the cost of the repair. I understand warranty work. I even understand some of their logic. I also know that any company who refuses to service something due to the fact that someone else serviced it before, just wants to control what they want you to pay. I own a service company, I have serviced many products that customers on their own tried to have serviced by other companies or themselves. I have never refused a customer a chance to get something repaired. If I noticed damage from what someone else did, I brought that to their attention. If I felt that the repair that I performed would be in jeopardy due to the previous attempts by someone else, I would explain what I would be willing to do.. Not urn my back on them. I guess honesty only works, if its to their advantage. David C

Service from the call experience through diagnosis and repair (had to get a part and come back) was timely, courteous, and efficient. A bit pricey, but the professionalism and reliability was great.

I have used them, and they have been really good. They gave us a partial refund, because they couldn't get the part on. How knowledgeable he really was. He seemed to know the dishwasher extremely well. He was able to give me recommendations on new, since we could not fix this one.

Very well. Kevin, the assigned service professional had fixed my Asko dishwasher when several servicemen had failed to do so a couple of years ago! Kevin is extremely competent, loves his job and is a pleasure to work with.

I was told they couldn't fix it as was too expensive; must buy a new one.

It was prompt but quoted $130 analysis fee that would go to repair. Total bill $350. I looked up after .. The part cost $60. He was done in 1/2 hr. He was very nice but too expensive

Service guy "Justin" was pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. A bit high in price, but they came same day, fixed the burner, and all is well.

They did not think they could get a technician to me the day I called but they managed to squeeze me in. Because they did get here, the compressor was not ruined. Kevan was great, explained everything and did exactly what he said he would do. No surprises. I would highly recommend Same Day Service and will not hesitate to use them again.

Dave was great. Very responsive. Called us right back and suggested a solution over the phone for the refrigerator which worked. He advised that the washer issue could be minor or major but based on the quality of the machine, we might consider fixing it. Dave showed up as scheduled. Advised of options - fix or replace. Gave us an estimate. Unfortunately it was major and we did not want to invest in a fix when we only planned to be in the house for a few more years.

A person came out after my local repair person told me I needed to find someone specializing in built-ins (he told me this for free over the phone). He stayed about 10 minutes and charged me $120. He told me I needed to get the General Electric factory service people out and it was a compressor problem. This was not correct. So I paid $120 for a few minutes of the wrong advice. Perhaps this is the best one can hope for but I rather think if they don't fix older fridges of this type they should say so up front. The guy was pleasant enough, however.

Alex, the repairman, was fast, competent and helpful. He quickly diagnosed the problem and made recommendations. I was very pleased with his attitude and efficiency.

Better than I could have hoped for. I don't know how they managed it, but they worked around my tight schedule and arrived at my home within 2 hours. They were friendly, accommodating and very helpful. Jim arrived exactly when promised. He immediately went to take off his shoes before stepping in my front door. He was very professional, competent, thorough and honest. I highly recommend Jim & the team at Same Day Service. They will be the only call I make for my future service needs.

The person I spoke to was very helpful and even talked me through checking the breaker downstairs, saving me the cost of a service call. I will definitely call them again in the future.

Very efficient office management (Theresa) and service technician (Nelson). Arrived promptly, diagnosed the problems instantly, and had the parts in the truck. Not cheap, but there are a lot of Cowboys in the appliance repair business, and you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend.

Same day service went above and beyond the call of duty to help us with a refrigerator that was actively leaking through the floor after service hours. Our serviceman, Kevan, was courteous, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about sub zero units. This is the second excellent service experience we have had with Same Say Service since moving into our house.

Called at 12:45 this afternoon; tech arrived at 1:30. He was professional and pleasant to deal with. Provided all the information and performed the repair. By 2:45, everything was done.

I had been a fan of Boston & Cambridge Appliance Repair but they stopped fixing Asko dishwashers, so I tried this highly rated company. Steve, the technician, was pleasant, efficient and explained the problem thoroughly. He fixed up the dishwasher enough to be back in service and returned a few days later as planned with the parts. Price was a little higher than B&C last I used them, but seems competitive. Very pleased, will use them again.

Update: Company has contacted me and we have come to a satisfactory resolution. I now believe it to be an honest mistake and not an intentional mis-diagnosis of the repair needed. I appreciate that the company reached out to me and we came to a satisfactory resolution. I called and made an appointment to find out why my 2-year old Whirlpool dishwasher was not getting the dishes clean. A repair technician came to look at it, ran the water for a short while, and told me I needed a new circulation pump, costing $417.00 for parts and labor. I did not proceed with the repair as I wanted to think about it since that was around the price I paid for the dishwasher brand new. I did some research online and could buy a new pump for $70-$90 dollars. Quite a mark-up to be quoted $417. I also watched video's to see how to install and new pump, and the only way to get to it is to pull the dishwasher completely out of the wall, so not sure how he determined it was the circulation pump without seeing it. I still was unsure if that was really the issue, so I called another company and explained that my dishes were not getting clean and the diagnosis and this repair technician also did not think it was the circulation pump. Before we made an appointment for this 2nd opinion, this new technician asked me to try a few things and call him back in a few days. He said I should make sure I am always using a "rinse aid" and prior to starting a load, to run my faucet for about 30 seconds until water is very hot, then turn it off and run the dishwasher. I couldn't believe that this worked and my dishwasher was working the same as when I first bought it. I ran about 4 loads before calling this 2nd technician back to thank him for his awesome free advice.

Service technician was prompt, and well informed about the appliance. He was neat covering the surface of the appliance to prevent and accidental scratches as well as covering the floor in his work area.
