Rite Window of Boston

Due to miscommunication unfortunately I wasn't able to use Rite Window for the job. However, I must say that after receiving a call from the owner Bill Whiteman and apologizing made me rethink my original review. Bill I appreciate you calling and apologizing. If i ever have another project I will consider Rite Window.

The work was done very efficiently over the course of 2 days. We were very happy with their work and the fact that 90% of it was done from inside the house. We live on a steep embankment over a river and it would have been very hard if they'd had to set up ladders to reach our 2nd floor windows. The men that did the work were very friendly and helpful, and answered all our questions.

Went well. They came in December when the window was broken, came back a few weeks later right after the first big snowstorm, but I also had some other contractors at the house that day. With the snow he couldn't get the window around the other guys and had to come back. Tried to come back next day but the frigid temps didn't allow it. Rescheduled for a few weeks later but snow stopped them again. Finally got it finished almost 3 months later, but definitely not their fault. I was impressed with their patience for rescheduling multiple times. Everyone I spoke to at Rite Window was very professional and responsive.

I worked with Wayne to get the job quoted and scheduled. He was great about working with me to use the Mass Save HEAT loan. Overall, I love the look of the new windows. I am so glad I added the aluminum wrap on the outside because it adds a polished look to the exterior. The Rite Window team was able to complete the job in 2 day which was perfect!

They were just easy to work with. It wasn't a hard sale situation like I think most window experiences are. The price was really reasonable. The installation was really smooth. They did the whole house- 21 windows in one day. There have been no problems, no leaks so they seem to be good quality. They are pretty basic not like luxury windows.

They were great. I spent extra money though because I wanted very specific really nice windows and they got them for me and the price was good. They advertised like a price for several hang windows, but I did not get any of that. I got two of the most expensive windows in my house and they did it for a very good price. It was $800 less than the competition and the competition was horrible to deal with, but they were awesome. As a matter of fact, I am going to use them again.

Overall my experience with them was good, and the pricing was reasonable. They cleaned up after themselves; they were at the house when they said they would be and they finished the job on time.

Very smooth process sales call came out priced measured and placed the order. I was notified when the windows came in and booked installation date. The installer called the day before to verify arrival date & time. The windows came in as ordered all fit as measured. The installer arrived as planned and were very efficient and left everything clean and neat. They demonstrated how to clean and use the windows.

We had used Rite Window last year for our vacation home and were happy with the results. Recently I noticed some rot near the base of our living room bay window. I called the service rep we had worked with previously and he quickly identified the cause of the rot. The roof of the bay had been leaking and flowing down to the base. Unfortunately, fixing it required an all new window. The installers Mike and Carl did a fantastic job! The window looks nearly the same as our previous, "but with no leak"! Thumbs up job!

Just got a call from my daughter saying that her window installation went well this morning. Our Christmas gift to her were new windows on their first floor. (We were there for Christmas dinner and freezing, glad we are now back in Florida). I had used Rite Window last year at my home and they did a fine job. My daughter reports that they were in and out fast, left everything clean and she is extremely happy with the new windows. Working with the same sales person made the process very easy. I'd like to thank Don McNeil for all his help.

We hired Rite Window to replace more than 20 windows in our medical office. We did not want the construction work to disrupt the operation of our practice, but the service manager and foreman were very accommodating in coordinating their work around busy times in the reception area and exam rooms. Our patients and staff hardly knew they were there. They did not make much noise and they left every area clean. We'd also like to salute Rite Windows for the windows themselves. They are far more attractive, no more cold drafts, they open and close easier, and they have lessened the street noise in our offices. All in all we are very satisfied with this company and their service. I recommend them

I just finished installing all new windows in my house. I opted to upgrade the standard windows with black exteriors and stronger energy ratings for the glass. I think the price was great and quality seems very good. One window was not as ordered and replaced promptly. I bought 1/2 the windows in spring and 2nd half in fall so I could pay for them all without debt. I did not feel pressured to do otherwise, which was nice. I am trusting that if there are any issues, this company will be in business for a long time to come and stands by their work.

Very good, we had had them before a year ago to put in 8 different windows prior to this job. It went very well, we had the same crew as the last time. They were very professional, and I plan to use them again in the future.

It went very smoothly. They said it would take 2 days and it did take 2 days. There was no mess or any cleanup afterwards. The two workers that came were very courteous and professional. They have a good price, good quality windows. The service is good. They were on time and within their time frame.

We had an old bow window on the front of the house we wanted replaced. It was ugly, because even when it was clean it always looked dirty. We met with both a local window business and Rite Window to get prices. Originally Rite Window was a higher price because their sales person (Don) said the wall under the window had significant water damage. I suspected he was only trying to get more money from us, but he offered to price the window as if there was no damage and then when the window was removed he would prove there was a problem. The other company made no mention of damage at all, so we decided to choose Rite Window because if there was damage we'd certainly want it repaired before a new window went in. It took them about 6 weeks to get the new window built and they came to install it. Don the sales person was with them. Lo and behold, when the old window was removed half the top piece of wood it sat on was like mush! Other pieces were also soft but not as bad. Jack and the other installer sawed the wet wood out and rebuilt the interior of the wall and installed the new window. This made the final price the same as Don's original quote and we were happy to pay it. Now we can actually see out the window and it looks beautiful. We told Don he had every right to gloat and say "I told you so", but he gets credit for not doing that. We were very impressed by his skill in spotting a problem that wasn't seen by us or others; a true professional. I recommend him and Rite Window.

We used Rite Windows a number of years ago to replace all our windows. A few weeks ago my wife noticed some fog in the corner of the glass in our upstairs bath. We both thought it was regular "steam fog", but the fog was in between the glass and not able to be wiped away. I went online and found articles saying this was a common occurrence with double-pane glass. (Although ours are triple pane). So I called Rite Window. To be honest I had little confidence I'd be able to get them to take care of the problem without "push back" or saying "our warranty doesn't cover that problem", etc, but I was pleasantly surprised by their response. The gentleman in their office did not push back. He had me recite the serial number on the bottom of the bad sash and said it would take a few weeks for the factory to build an exact replacement. They called last Friday to report it arrived and a service person came yesterday to install it. My wife said he was on-time and courteous. It was covered under warranty with no additional charges. The entire process reaffirmed our original belief that Rite Windows was the right window company.

(See our previous experience with Rite Window) Kieth our salesman was friendly, knowledgeable about his windows and honest. So we chose them. My husband was there when the men came to put in the windows. He said they were very thorough and professional and they cleaned up after themselves. We are very pleased with the job. I should note that I called other places first and they didn't get back to me. (I don't know if they were too busy or what, but they didn't call back.) I found Rite Window on a web search last spring and they did one window for us. I was unfamiliar with them, but my neighbor had heard of them and said they had a good reputation. I am new to Angie's List so I was unable to check them first, but it appears they do have a good record and I'm pleased that I found them them.

An update to my original review. The owner called me and personally apologized for the scheduling mix up. That says a lot about a company. He went out of his way to try to make things right. We had already purchased the windows and it was nice to know that they cared about making things right with us. I'm more apt to call them next time I need windows. I just hope they will show up when they are supposed to. It was awful. We scheduled this 3 weeks ago for last tuesday. They never showed up, and when I called last week they said I was on the calendar for this Tuesday. They didn't show up AGAIN. I called and we weren't on the schedule at all. The person I spoke to had a bad attitude too. Very unprofessional. Don't call rite window, right now.

Updated Review We have revised our review from an "A" to a "C". Our original installation was great, well worthy of an "A". It has been the follow up that reduces the grade to a "C". Following the initial installation, the installers discovered that two window sashes did not fit perfectly. They ordered news sashes, which was great, exactly what we would want. The first installation of the new sashes was terrible. The installer tried to fit two new sashes in that did not fit properly, which wrecked the good fit of the windows, and left dust all over our sofa, which was never cleaned up. After two hours, he gave up and told us someone from Rite Windows would contact us. No one ever contacted us. We eventually had to call a week later to get an update and were told that entirely new windows had been ordered. The third installer was a very nice guy who did a good job. However, Rite Windows had ordered the wrong types of lower sash (grids instead of no grids) and there was again something wrong with the lower sash that caused it not to fit correctly. Rite Window ordered new lower sashes and we arranged for another install date and time. The installer did not show up on time and only called us at the end of our two-hour window to say that he was not going to arrive on time, so we wasted two hours of our weekend. The new sashes are now installed, and the final product looks great, but the follow up was a very bad experience. Original Review This was an excellent experience. Shane, the sales representative, agreed to meet us on the weekend, which was ideal given our schedule. It was a very low pressure sales pitch when compared to other window installers we talked to, but unlike the others reps, Shane had actually installed the windows before and really seemed to believe in the product. Rite Window scheduled the installation a week after the windows arrived at their warehouse and the installation was finished in one day. They uncovered a rotted window sill when taking out one of the old windows and replaced the sill at no cost to us. Our house was perfectly clean when the work was finished and, surprisingly, it looks like we only need to do some minor touch up with paint on the sills. In addition, Shane walked us through the house after the installation and showed us a screen with a hole in it and two sashes that did not fit perfectly and promised to replace them. The windows look great, work great, and we are very happy with the finished product.

The installation was fine except that the two windows for the garage (U.30) were installed in the house while two of the house windows (U.27) were installed in the garage. I told Keith and the next week he came, found them (stickers were taken off the house windows), and switched them. We noticed that the grids in the upper and lower windows did not align properly (the garage windows are perfect). Contacted Keith (6/24/14). On 6/25/14 Keith responded and said that a serviceman would come out and check them. We heard nothing and so I contacted him again on 7/09/14) and told him that after more than two weeks we had heard nothing. Keith replied that he would come by the next day and take some photos to send to the factory. He did come in on 7/10/14 and went through all of the windows. He admitted that there were problems and took photos. As we went through, looking at each window, there was a lot of jockeying around trying to make the grids align and asking, "if we could get away with this one." As stated the garage window alignment was perfect. You could just look and know that they were. He said we would hear in a couple of weeks. On 8/05/14 (approximately 4 weeks later) I called him again. On 8/06/14, he replied that he would be in the office that morning and should get an answer from the factory. It is now a week later and we have heard nothing. I asked him if they got seconds from the factory and sold them. He said they didn't. The windows seem sound--no leaks or other performance flaws that we can see. Perhaps we will get something done after this review is posted. On 9/03/14 a representative from the factory brought the windows that were to be replaced. Some of them weren't any better than the ones they were to replace, but he was able to use the ones he brought and the ones that were here to come up with windows that were good. He simpy mixed and matched tops and bottoms until they looked right. He also found a black spot behind the lock on one of the windows he brought and exchanged that lock with a window he did not use. He did a great job and we wished he had been able to install all of the windows. We were contacted by Rite Window almost immediately and asked to change our review. My review stands.

We were very pleased with the quality of the windows and the installation. The sales person, Don, was very courteous, and did not present any sales pressure during the estimating process. The installation team, Shane and Peter, went through great trouble to make sure the installation was perfect in every detail. They protected the carpets with canvas cloths during the installation process. They cleaned every room as they completed and proceed from room to room, and finally cleaned the driveway and checked for any scraps of metal and wood around the exterior of the house when they had completed the job. Window replacement companies are a dime a dozen, but I would definitely recommend Rire Window over others, to homeowners who want professional window replacement at a reasonable cost.

Overall I am happy with the product, my dissatisfaction came with the communication and the installers. After the initial consult, I called back the rep to tell him we would like to purchase the windows and got no answer for a week...I was beginning to think they didnt want my business, but I called the main line one last time and spoke to someone who told me that the rep that came out was out of the office for surgery. That's fine, and I felt bad about calling so much, but have his calls/emails forwarded to someone else to take care of for better customer service. Next he came out and measured and gave us a timeframe of when to expect someone from the company to call to schedule the install. That time frame came and went and no contact from the company...I finally called and asked what was up and they scheduled the install with me. The installers came and showed up very early, which I thought was a fluke, but installed the 21 windows in one day and left the place as they found it. I found that one of the windows didnt close properly and there was some damage to a couple of the screens so I called the company to let them know and they offered to send someone out to fix it. The second installer came and arrived about 2hrs early, I was told 9-9:30 and he showed up at 7:15am and sat idling in front of my neighbors house until I went outside. I said "Youre early" and he waved a piece of paper around and said the work order says 8am. Then he said "Are we going to do this or what" and I should have sent him packing but I wanted to get this resolved so he came in. I told him I just woke up and he made a comment about wishing he could sleep late and that he just wanted to beat traffic so he came early. The rest of the 2hrs he was at my house was pretty uncomfortable. He did take out the window and put it in correctly and made comments about how the guys that did my initial work are no longer with the company. That doesnt give me a lot of confidence in the work on my other 20 windows...He cleaned up the inside of my house but not the outside where he threw handfuls of caulk onto the lawn from the second floor as he was fixing it. Overall, Im satisfied with the product, but not with the customer service and installers so Im weary to recommend this company to anyone.

They were great and the windows work very well. I would certainly use them again and recommend them highly.

Everyone was great! The installation team was exceptional. They arrived when they said they would and went above and beyond getting the job done. They were respectful of my home and were careful around antiques and stained glass panels. They made sure that every speck of dust was cleaned up before they left. I will be contacting them again to install new windows for my home office.

Jeff is very professional, experienced and knowledgable. This is my 2nd time to have him for my window treatment. Nice products and great experience with this provider.
