Salesman was knowledgeable and very good. Price was good and we got the discounts available. We were told six- eight weeks for delivery and they were ready in six weeks. So all was good. The job was to take one day and was scheduled. We took the day off from work but when the installer came alone and late, he said he was sick and needed to go home. So that was a waste vacation day from work. We rescheduled for several days later. Two men came, the original guy and another fellow. The original guy spent most of the morning on his cell phone and smoking cigarettes. Then he asked to use the bathroom..... we needed to fumigate after he was done and we cleaned the bathroom for an hour after (gross). The two workers got in an argument because only one was working and he was p/o'd. They did a good job. But we called and complained about the nonsense and the manager said they would refund us $200. The manager came out to inspect the work done. He assured us everything was installed correctly. Three weeks later we called about the refund check..... "Oh, forgot!, It will be sent out today." Now it's two weeks later and still no check. Finally we received the refund check.

Our performance on this job was unacceptable. We thank the customer for bringing it to our attention. Rite Window has set policies regarding rescheduling a job and respecting the customer's property, but in this case we failed. This customer's review was the only subject of discussion during a recent meeting of our installation staff. It was made clear to all that having "policies" is only worthwhile when they are put to practice. We have learned from this, and pledge to do better moving forward.

They did excellent service. The original estimate was around $3,000. I received an email saying that the windows were going to be cheaper because of no sales tax for that period as long as I wrote a check out by that Sunday. It was cool because I didn't have the work done then but because I wrote the check out, I was still entitled to the discount. I ended up getting the work done for $2,400 and I was very happy with the price because it was a good price. They followed up after the original estimate to see if I had any questions, not that they were hounding me; they were seeing if I needed any help and they were also willing to match any prices. They came to do the work at 8 am and didn't leave until 7 pm so there was a lot of work that needed to be done. The quality of the windows was good. They were very friendly. I would highly recommend them to anyone else.

I really enjoyed working with this company from start to finish. The sales guy Don was very prompt and not pushy, the scheduling person (Joe) was extremely accommodating even though I had to reschedule because of some other construction going on that was in their way, and the installers were excellent. The install team (lead Shane with Josh) were prompt and did great work without needing to keep an eye on them. They cleaned up thoroughly when they were done and the replacement windows look great.

I had the salesrep, Dave come in from the Portsmouth office on a Saturday morning. He said he would be there at 10 and that is exactly when he showed up. We talked and discussed what they could do for us and gave me the prices on the windows, install, etc. We were told to talk to other companies and compare their prices and their guarantees. And if we decide to go with Rite Windows, the price we received, is the price we will pay. No haggling, no gimmicks, nothing. So we decided to get the windows. We were told it would be 4 to 6 weeks to get the windows. In three weeks we got a call from the installation manager and were told that the windows were in and they would like to schedule the install. Well we had not time until the end of August. and they said that it would be no problem. So on August 24, the installers arrived at exactly 9am. We were told between 9 and 10. Two people, two days and all the windows were installed. They replaced an old double hung original picture window with a beautiful new window with top to bottom sliders on the sides. They also took old casement windows in our solarium and converted them to huge sliders. There was one issue as they were doing that. I realized that they only had a single screen on the sliding windows. We were told that we would get full screens so we could remove the windows in the summer for full air. The installers checked my contract and said that it was not marked on the contract so I called and left a message for the sales rep. In about 15 minutes, the installation manager called me and asked what the issue was. I told him about the screens and he said, no problem, they would order new full replacement screens for me and it would not cost anything extra. That was great. So the windows were done and I found minor things that needed to be addressed. I called and they took care of them at a time that was convenient for me. So I can not say anything bad about the company. Good windows, excellent guarantee and professional people. The only thing that I did not like is since my house was built in 1970, I had to pay for each window to have a lead abatement installation in case of lead paint. Well that is fine but the windows in my solarium were an addition way after 1970 and the room is solid pine beams. I told the salesman about that and he said, if it was not needed, they would refund it. Well I still do not think it was needed and I never got anything refunded. I mentioned it to the installers but they simply are doing what they are told to do per the contract. Other than that, I would, and have, recommended them ....

Initially very responsive for consultation. The "retired" old guy that came out was just adorable, however he quoted me the wrong price for everything and then showed up, unannounced, at my house the next day and added another $1000 on for the things he forgot. Still I thought it was a fair price. It took a looong time, once the windows came in, to schedule the work. Everytime I tried to return the call to book it I got a machine. Apparently they don't have anyone available to call after 4PM which is when I am available. After 3 phonecalls, I got an E-mail address to communicate through. They were accomodating as to the time I was available, which turned out to be a Saturday. I was told they would arrive between 9 & 10 and the guys actually showed up at 8:30am, which was not good, because I'm trying to get all the stuff off the windows in preparation and hadn't had a chance to shower. I have nothing bad to say about the 2 guys who showed up to do the work. They were courteous and professional and seemed to know what they were doing. The windows came out great and they cleaned up well after themselves. I don't even think they took a break the whole 8 hrs or so they were there. Very hard workers! All in all, aside from some communication flaws, I am pleased with Rite window and would recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

We received quotes from 6 different window companies and chose Rite Window. They offered a triple pane window (made with 3 sheets of glass). Their triple pane was priced better than the double-pane windows offered by some of the other companies. Overall we felt Rite Window represented the best value. We benefited from the information we found on Angie's list, but because each Angie's review is based on a different job description it can be difficult to compare company pricing head-to-head. But the quotes below can be compared because they are based on the exact same job description. We asked each company for their best price on 18 double-hung windows (regular up & down type) and 4 basement windows. We hope other members will find this quote comparison useful. $29,000 -ANDERSEN DOUBLE-PANE window with Fiberx frame PROS: The Andersen name is the best in the business. The Fiberex frame is a vinyl-wood composite and looks less"vinyl like" CONS: The price was way beyond what we wanted to spend. (Over $1,300 per window) We have seen Andersen windows at Home Depot for $200-$400 and couldn't understand the price difference. We later found out we were talking to a different part of Andersen called Andersen Renewal. They're the part of the company that handles both window and installation. (It seems the installation adds a lot to their cost!) $26,800 -NEWPRO TRIPLE-PANE with Celuca frame PROS: The Newpro window is triple-pane glass. Their window had the best insulation rating of any company. The frame is made of an attractive material. CONS: A good window, but again the price was beyond what seemed reasonable for our budget. (Over $1,200 per window) After we said "no" they came back with a lower price, but we would've preferred getting their best price on their initial visit. $19,100 -CHAMPION WINDOWS DOUBLE-PANE with vinyl frame PROS: Their salesman was nice, informative, and no high pressure. They offered many color options for the exterior and frame. CONS: A little under $1,000 per, but still not a great price for a double-pane vinyl window. The window glass had a tint that made it darker. (My wife felt they looked like sunglasses.) $16,100 -PELLA DOUBLE-PANE with vinyl frame PROS: We expected Pella's price to be one of the highest, but it wasn't. Company does everything in a high class manor. CONS: We wanted their wood or fiberglass model, but when we told them our budget they only showed us their vinyl window. Their vinyl frame appeared to be lower quality than the Champion and Rite Window models, (and the reviews we read for Pella's vinyl reflected this.) $12,200 -RITE WINDOW TRIPLE-PANE with vinyl frame PROS: Triple-pane window with 2nd best insulation rating. The price. Salesman was informative, no high pressure. Window manufacturer reviews. CONS: Rite Window is not the maker of the window; they are the dealer of Gorell Windows out of Pennsylvania.(although Gorell's reviews were positive). Not as many color options as Champion. $11,050 -LJT Construction DOUBLE-PANE with vinyl frame PROS: The price. They would have installed a Harvey Window which is a well known brand. CONS: The contractor seemed disinterested in our job and took a long time to provide a quote. He would not produce company insurance and customer reference information. OUR CHOICE: Again, we chose Rite Window. We were concerned about their lower price, but their salesman made an interesting point. He said, "Is Rite Window too low, or are the other prices too high?" That's a good point, because we didn't see the value in spending $29,000 for an Andersen 2-pane window, so comparing Rite Window to an inflated price was unfair. Rite Window's reviews checked out, so (if their installation went well) we felt they offered the best value. THE INSTALLATION: We were surprised by the quality of the Rite Window installation. The crew was precise and professional and the company responded quickly to the 1 item we had on our "punch-list". So far the windows have been great. The triple-pane glass has definitely made the house quieter and not as hot in the blazing sun. (and we anticipate they'll help lower our heating cost this winter) Not everyone will use the same criteria to make their choice, but we've been happy with our decision. We hope this information will be helpful when making yours.

What drew me to Rite Window was the listed pricing--everything from add-ons to accessories are priced and I still optained a discount! I used three contractors this summer & of all the contractors they were the best in terms of doing the work on the scheduled date, professionalism, and a quality job. They have a live person answer their phones. Realize that the extra's add up. For example the Govt adds a $30. per window lead removal fee for windows prior to 1978, the dividers in the windows are $30. for the top & $30. for the bottom. All this adds up but all the other window providers charge the same thing. Rite windows are among the most competatively priced & for $40. more per window, you can get tripple payne which is a bargain. The Energy savings for tripple payne are marginal but the soundproofing is the true value. Gould is the manufacturer of the window which has a good reputation. Rite windows are not top of the line, or bottom of the line. They are the best bang for the buck in the middle.

What prompted us to call was the fact that the price is on site. Frankly the windows pretty much sell themselves. The installation process went fine as well, the installers did clean up after they left which was appreciated. The only snafu was that one of the windows installed was the incorrect style. This is annoying but mistakes happen. The company has been responsive in terms of working with us to have this replaced with the correct style and has been accommodating of our scheduling requests. Overall good experience. The windows are terrific.

We were very pleased with them. They were punctual, efficient and responsive to our demands. We had a screen that had a hole in it and we called and they said that was fine and that they would order us a new one and they would have guys come out when it came in and they did. That was really quick. The quality of their product is very good. This was the second time we've used them and we would use them again.

Description of Work: First we met with the sales manager to talk over our project. He was very knowledgable about his product and his services. Measured every window opening while he was here. Install team called and scheduled install, they were right on time, within 5 minutes of promised time. They were well organized, courteous and professional. They installed all our windows, 12 of them, and were done by 4 in the afternoon. They cleaned up after themselves like they were never there. The install has been excellent since, no issues except a sash gasket that they didn't like. They ordered new sash before they left, the store called and scheduled install date, excellent service!!

I spent time researching vinyl replacements and after seeing a number of good reports I decided on Gorell Windows based in Pennsylvania. I contacted the company and they directed me to their Massachusetts dealer, Rite Window. The Rite Window sales rep was knowledgeable and made 3 trips to show me the options I required. The price was very reasonable for triple-pane replacements and we went forward. The installation took a day and a half and all went well. I was impressed with the lead-installer; there were 2 problems that he solved that an installer with less experience might have butchered. My only problem with the process was the lead-safe fee I was required to pay. There's a new federal law that requires all contractors working on homes built before 1978 to take "useless" steps to prevent lead-poisoning. There ought to be a waiver of liability if the homeowner chooses to run the very slight risk, but our government "knows what's best for all of us". The fee wasn't expensive, it's just the principle of the matter. Overall my experience with Rite Window was positive and I give them an "A". Feel free to contact me if you need other information.

As a professional researcher, I checked out each and every type window, and then contacted those from Angies list and other reputable places. My first step was to contact the manufacturer of the windows, and spoke with the head honcho to answer and research his answers. I then scheduled for the estimator to come down to measure and bring a full window, with the color we wanted, so we could see if it was a true match, which it was. He spent quite a bit of time answering all our questions and showing the features of the windows and was able to answer all the technical questions we had. I always have 3-5 estimates and manufacturers so that I can compare, and the windows from Rite Window are without a doubt the very best. We placed our order with him, as each window is hand made to your specifications and color. I was notified immediately when the windows were ready, and arranged to have them put in after the installation of a new roof. Due this weather, the roofer had to be put off until the snow melted and it ended up being the same week. Rite windows did everything correctly, and has the very best communication system in place. I never received anything negative from them, nor did they have a "stop bugging me attitude" and they do their job as it should be, with the customer being number one. My insurance agent looked over all their insurance and they had all the correct insurance and licenses sent. I found out in the past how easy it is to get burned and I can tell you that there are absolutely zero problems with licensing or their insurance. We were all set for March 31, and the installers arrived on time and did a magnificent job as stated. As it turns out it was a gorgeous day and I was able to go outside and look at my windows, as the installation was still ongoing. I broke into a HUGE smile - talk about the "WOW Factor" I called my best friend and I swear the smile on my face never disappeared, because in my wildest dreams, I never could have expected my house to look so magnificent, and for the color to be such an exact match. I cannot emphasize enough, how terrific each and everyone of these people communicate together and act like a team. They have it so everything just flows to perfection. There was always communication, no surprises, and I have to say these are the best contractors I have ever used. The person that does the hiring does an excellent job, as being alone with contractors can be scary. Instead, these people were like friends. Also, being a researcher by trade, they were put thru more than anyone could expect, and never had attitude. I did all the hard homework on Rite Window, as I do with anybody I contact, and they were the only outfit that has never lost their patience with me. Why? Because they are honest, with nothing to hide. I live my life by the Golden Rule, and without a doubt so does Rite Window!
Description of Work: We had 11 Replacement windows including a picture window that included inside grids and a specialized color to match our shutters and trim. The installers were professionals, and did a perfect job, working fast, but yet had attention to every detail, but most of all treated us with respect and dignity. They cleaned up thoroughly and showed us how to operate the windows. They were meticulous and followed every step that an installer should do including caulking both the inside AND outside of the windows, which is something most places do not do. We ordered these windows in February and had them scheduled for the end of March which worked perfect. See below for more info.

It was a very high-pressure sale with an exceptionally low cost. The cost was so low that it was challenging to believe so I chose not to go with them. The package of high pressure and the low cost made it questionable. They have great review in a lot of places but I wouldn't do business with them. They were very responsive and on time for the one appointment. I couldn't imagine ever doing business with them.

I had a good conversation with this client and found out our sales representative was calling back at the same time our office was calling to follow up after our appointment. I could see how he might feel pressure by getting calls from us. We have since coordinated our calling efforts. Rite Windows shows all prices upfront on their website and it's the same when they come in to measure the windows. There is no hidden prices - you pay what they quote. On the install day they were courteous, professional and most of all, punctual. Two gentlemen came in and had the work done in under 3 hours. Cleaned up after themselves - you'd never have known they were there.
Description of Work: we had 6 regular size triple pane windows and 1 custom slider window over the kitchen sink installed.

RiteWindow came on time, completed the job in one day, and made sure everything was cleaned up prior to leaving. Pricing for the slider windows included replacing outside window trim that was better than what I had prior.
Description of Work: Replaced seven slider windows.
