Finding Right Angle Kitchens was the best thing that happened for our renovation. Not only did Ken provide us with beautiful, high quality cabinets and granite countertops, but he was instrumental in helping us lay out the kitchen, and went even further by coming up with a great approach for the open first floor plan, including where to put a bathroom. He thinks outside the box, has broad knowledge, and came up with great ideas. He listens, is responsive, and prices were reasonable. Honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We worked with Katie from Right Angle Kitchens & Design, and she was absolutely lovely to work with. I reached out to several kitchen designers and architects prior to beginning this project, and Katie was the only one who really thought outside of the box to give us all the things we wanted in the space we had. We ordered our cabinets through Katie, and Right Angle, and they handled all the aspects of the order, and making sure we got the custom paint color for our island that we wanted. Katie came after delivery, to inspect every piece, and ensure we received replacements for any damaged/warped ones. Katie also took us shopping for stone and helped us to pick out our countertops - a very daunting task that she made quite simple. We wouldn't have known where to start, but she understood what we were looking for and cut out a lot of the time and effort that would have otherwise been involved. She worked with a fabricator, made all the arrangements, showed up onsite when the fabricator came to template, and explained everything so we knew exactly what we were getting. Katie also handled all our hardware requirements for the kitchen and the under cabinet lighting. Again, she understood what we liked, helped us to quickly narrow down our choices, and ordered everything for us (which was a huge help). When our contractor came onsite, Katie, gave him a detailed packet of drawings, measurements and instructions, including info sheets on all the hardware. We highly recommend Right Angle to anyone considering a kitchen renovation.
Description of Work: Kitchen/dining remodel - we needed a new layout for our kitchen that was functional, thoughtful and worked for the new space we created by removing two walls.

This was a $40K+ project for Right Angle Kitchens. My cost was more because I also bought new appliances, paid plumber and electrician and carpenter, etc. So it was a big project and we ended up with a great new kitchen. The first step was that Ken came to our house and discussed the plans for the kitchen with our builder and us. I was immediately impressed. We all stood in the old kitchen and discussed ideas, and Ken was very specific and very articulate about what he recommended. - Oven widths are 24" now so even if you are going to use your old oven which is narrower, you want that section to be 24" wide so when the day comes for a new oven you can accommodate. That fridge has a life expectancy of X and you are at X-4, and they have changed the design of their fridge so you should have the cabinets next to it be designed to anticipate the day you need to change the fridge. He also had more "taste" or "artistic" inputs. Such as how he likes to have the counter top end into the wall, and that sort of thing. In no instance was Ken insistent on having it the way he recommends. He just had good sensible thoughts and had a great command of space and of details. When I spoke to him on the phone over the next couple of weeks, he always recalled all the details in his head. There was no "umm, let me get your file out to check that." He clearly had an image in his head of our kitchen, down to specific dimensions of doors etc. He was also pretty good in terms of trying to use more standardized dimensions where possible to avoid extra cost of custom cabinets. Finally, he also had a good command of colors and had a clear opinion about what would work together and what wouldn't (cabinet color - counter top - adjacent wall paint color - etc) As to timing, the cabinets came in exactly when promised. As to Ken's handling of the stone process, he was a bit more removed than he was for the cabinet process. There was a bit more of us running around to look at stone to figure out what we wanted (seeing a slab gives you a better sense than just seeing a little sample), and a few other aspects where he wasnt 100% in command of all the details. That being said,I also have to give Ken credit because there was a moment when the sink we had ordered (custom job) was not available yet and was holding up installation, and although that was not his fault, he basically paid and persuaded his counter guys to come to a night time install just to get it done for us on our schedule. This clearly ate into his margin - and I think he makes a fair margin, but the fact that he sucked it up to make the install go to our plan was a credit to him. And much appreciated. There were a couple of cabinet doors that were made the wrong size, but he sorted that out with the manufacturer. And other than having two missing doors for a few weeks, it had zero impact on us. We didnt even have to do anything. I would DEFINITELY hire Ken again, and I would DEFINITELY recommend him to my friends and family.
Description of Work: Completely new kitchen. Gut and redo. Ken at Right Angle drew the designs, delivered the cabinets and handled the counter tops.

Ken, who runs Right Angle Kitchens is a very nice guy, however we would never recommend him or work with him again. He was part of a large renovation of our new house, and the point person for the kitchen and two bathrooms. He was initially very involved and responsive, but as the work progressed we learned that a lot was missed or overlooked. We were paying him a lot of money and were quite frustrated with the lack of responsiveness and all of the items that the contractors had to figure out because he didn't take care of them in the first place. Additionally there was no oversight of the installation of cabinets and there were a lot of mistakes.

It's a tricky space -- small, with a door in every wall. Lisa came up with multiple ideas for how to reorganize it to make better use of the space and meet our needs. She was very responsive to what we wanted and needed, and very patient about generating new computer-generated sketches and perspectives until we were happy. She helped us choose cabinets and counters, and advised on other choices from flooring to plumbing fixtures and door hardware. She also set us up with a contractor to do the work -- that was billed separately -- and kept a close eye on the project as it went along. We are VERY happy with the way it all turned out, but there were some problems along the way. Certain aspects of the design didn't work and had to be redone, and some of the cabinetry wound up having to be reordered, and that, combined with some lapses on the contractor's part, meant that the work took quite a bit longer than originally anticipated. Lisa was great about it, and absorbed the additional cost without complaint, even though I'm sure it meant they lost money on the project. In the end we wound up with a kitchen that we're very happy with, at a very reasonable price.
Description of Work: Lisa helped us renovate our 1950's-era kitchen. The price includes her extensive design work, cabinets and counters.
