Residential and commercial fire and water damage restoration, mold remediation, and construction include pumping, water extraction, cleaning and sanitizing, demolition & drying.
RestorePro helped my condo association (two units) with a water issue that required a fairly complex solution for one of the units. The company was responsive and professional through the mitigation and restoration process. They worked well with our insurance company and were able to problem solve as issues arose.

I hit RestrorePro during a ridiculously busy period for them. Nonetheless they managed to get over to me within a few days to evaluate the work and to create a schedule and detailed plan. Once work began, about a week later, their people were very reliable and professional. The restoration was done properly, with blueboard and skimcoat plaster throughout. Their painting was top notch, with top quality paint and careful color matching. I have to admit, I hope I don't need them again (no surpruise), but if I do, I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: RestorePro restored the plaster and painting required after a massive five story flood of my townhouse. The drying out process required numerous holes in ceilings and walls, plus there were many water stains that needed to be restored and painted.

RestorePro responded immediately to our emergency. The crew was super efficient, taking care & time to do the job properly - cleaning & disinfecting the affected area thoroughly, removing carpeting, boxes & other contaminated material. They left the area spotless, without any odors or residue. The workers were not only efficient, but also courteous & friendly, especially considering the kind of job they were doing! We could have used our homeowners insurance but decided to pay directly as their price was fair & reasonable. We definitely recommend them & would use them again if needed!

It took quiet some time, but they were not hesitant to do extra work and obviously with the newer estimates but everything was itemized.
Description of Work: Brian is the nicest and most knowledgeable contractor I have talked to. I had 10+ calls with him to clarify the details of the mold and water damage problem. Dan is the manager who worked with me and he convinced the condo management to get the exterior repaired. Their people skill and knowledge about Insurance is the best and they worked with the Insurance. Their prices can vary sometime but for any novice homeowners this is the company you want to go with. I recommend them and I hired them after consulting with many other contractors.

It is hard to know where to begin describing our rather convoluted and unpleasant experience with RestorePro. Believe it or not, this is the abbreviated version of events, which have spanned over 2 months. Note that the rating of “D” for pricing isn’t all due to high prices. Rather, it’s due to the fact that their pricing was confusing and misleading. We had a leak from a residential sprinkler system which ended up damaging a wall in our bathroom and about 75 square feet of our kitchen ceiling. Our insurance company suggested RestorePro for the reconstruction aspect. Since we weren’t sure if (or how much) the final repairs would exceed our deductibles, we decided to manage the costs closely. As our problems with RestorePro are mostly related to the kitchen, I’ll skip the part about the bathroom, which turned out fine in the end. The quick summary is that although Marcello and Joe from RestorePro were very personable and reasonably responsive, their estimates were misleading and deceptive, bearing only modest relation to the work that they did. Also, the way they computed prices differed between their estimates and the final invoice. The kitchen ceiling presented a challenge since our textured plaster ceiling was continuous throughout most of the rooms on that floor (Kitchen, Family Room, Dining Room, foyer, hallways, etc.). Our original ceiling was unpainted plaster, so we were hoping that the new plaster might match well enough. Depending on how well the newly-textured portion matched, this big continuous ceiling would almost certainly need re-plastering, repainting, or both. Marcello came out to gather data for the estimate. His estimate of $5,500 appeared to include the cost of fixing the bathroom, putting up wallboard and plastering the damaged area of the kitchen ceiling, and retexturing and painting the continuous ceiling in the rooms adjoining the kitchen. Since we were hoping that painting wouldn’t be necessary or that we could do some ourselves, we asked him for a quote that retained the texturing but excluded the painting. We thought that the retexturing would sufficiently hide any differences to obviate the need for painting. This dropped the estimate to about $3,800, still including the retexturing of all these rooms. It also specified 70 sq ft as the area that needed new drywall and plaster in the kitchen (one large rectangular area plus one tiny square area). We accepted this proposal, signed a contract, made a down payment, and scheduled the work. When the workers arrived, we learned that after putting up the drywall in the kitchen, they were going to only plaster the 75 sq ft of affected ceiling, and feather it into the existing plaster. They weren’t going to do the work shown in the estimate that seemed to include retexturing the continuous ceilings in neighboring rooms. The workers explained that to properly replaster the neighboring rooms would cost “ten times as much.” So they only wallboarded and plastered this one area in the kitchen (and the bathroom), which of course didn’t match the surrounding plaster (and to this day still needs painting and perhaps re-plastering of multiple rooms). Marcello and Joe from RestorePro attempted various verbal acrobatics to explain that the estimate didn’t include any plastering beyond the 75 sq ft area in the kitchen. But they were unable to explain, for instance, why the estimate included charges for things like “Texture drywall – smooth / skim coat” and “Texture drywall – light hand texture” in 3 of our other rooms if they weren’t committing to actually do that work. To this day I have never received a coherent explanation what went on with this estimate. Marcello often fell back on the explanation that it was “just an estimate” that would go up or down depending on the work that they actually did, which is normally fair enough, but that excuse doesn’t explain line items for plastering that they apparently had no intention of doing for the price they quoted. I decided not to pursue the matter, giving them the benefit of the doubt that it was just some sort of bad mistake on their part when creating the original estimate. RestorePro sent us an invoice for the work that they ostensibly actually completed. Their breakdown included a number of items that they hadn’t actually done, such as detaching and reattaching light fixtures. And, whereas their original estimate specified drywall and plastering for 70 sq ft of our kitchen ceiling, this new invoice said they did 160 sq ft., claiming that 5 sheets of drywall were used. Drywall sheets are 32 sq ft each, so a maximum of three sheets should have been needed. We immediately challenged this. Using a tape measure, we determined that the area was more like 75 sq ft. See attached photo of drywall. The dimensions of the large rectangle are approximately 8'x9'. We sent RestorePro a list of disputed items, and they scheduled a meeting at our house. Our meeting (again with Marcello and Joe) was cordial enough. They easily agreed to eliminate the charges for the work that clearly hadn’t been done. But they reiterated that 160 sq ft of drywall had been needed to patch a 75 ft hole in our ceiling. They made multiple claims along the way, including: * They always charge for full sheets of drywall, since after you cut one you cannot re-use the rest. * They always charge for plastering a full sheet of drywall even if only a partial sheet is used, because plaster costs money and goes by the bag, and “it adds up.” In the end they agreed to reduce the number of sheets down from five to four (128 sq ft), and (we thought) not to charge for texturing plaster beyond the affected area. Although I still found this problematic, we were anxious to get conclude business with RestorePro so we agreed, and I sent them a check. The problems with their arguments and final invoice are: * If they only charge for a full sheet of drywall at a time, their estimates should reflect that from Day One. As Marcello measured 70 sq ft. originally, his estimate should have shown 3 sheets of drywall, or 96 sq ft. Otherwise the estimate is patently misleading. * The material cost of a sheet of drywall and a whole bag of plaster is about $25, yet they charged about $300 per sheet all told. I might accept that rate for drywall and plaster that’s actually used for the job, but not for the unused and unneeded material that ends up in the dumpster. And even then, it’s not like a guy who puts up drywall for a living can’t find a use for ¾ of a piece of leftover drywall. * They claimed that the area that had been textured was 96 sq ft., yet only about 80 sq ft. were textured in actuality. The work they actually did perform was a mixed bag. The bathroom came out fine. The plasterer said that the newly plastered area of our kitchen ceiling would come out bright white, but it has resolved to a mottled color that’s gray in big areas, which suggests perhaps that the plaster was not applied uniformly (see photo). In summary, we completely lost confidence that RestorePro would fulfill any contract for the price they committed to, or that they would deal honestly (or at least in a manner that didn’t totally confuse us). They were nice enough people in person, but we feel baffled, misled, and cheated. I invited RestorePro to provide feedback to me prior to my posting of reviews on social media, but did not hear back from them.
Description of Work: We had a leak from a residential sprinkler system in an upstairs bathroom, which damaged the bathroom wall and kitchen ceiling below. After demolition, we looked to RestorePro to do the reconstruction which would have potentially included putting up drywall, plastering, and painting.

I am very pleased with the final result. The work was spread over a number a number of weeks: Restore Pro first inspected the problem area in December'14 but on account of the holidays and then the winter weather in early 2015 they had several emergency jobs they had to attend to. However, they always kept me informed in advance of any schedule changes.
Description of Work: Restore Pro examined the house for possible mold following some leaking through a skylight. Mold was found in the skylight area. They removed all affected material, and repaired and replaced it. Finished result is very satisfactory. Farina Roofing replaced the skylight. Restore Pro and Farina Roofing shared information in an exemplary way to contribute to the success of the project.

We had a lot of damage this winter due to ice dams. We called RestorePro due to their A rating at the time. It was a horrible experience. I know it was a busy time for water mitigation companies, but I still expected better than what I got. The first day the crew showed up for water mitigation, there was an experienced worker and a new guy. The experienced worker had suggested opening up the wall in my son's room due to some signs of water damage. He was, luckily, able to treat the water damage on the ceiling trough the attic. The second day the experienced guy was out so they just sent the Inexperience Guy #1 from the first day and another inexperienced guy. Inexperienced Guy #1 told me that I didn't have to go into that wall. But wait a minute? Experienced Guy #1 told me I needed to do that the day before. So what's up? When it was time for the restoration work, at first they sent two guys who mainly do mitigation work. They took a whole day to put up 5 pieces of drywall in my sons room. They also ripped out the water damaged part of the ceiling without checking with me first even though Experienced Guy #1 had treated it trough the attic and it didn't need to be removed. RestorePro did send actual plasterers half way duing the second day of restoration work and they did complete the rest of the plastering quickly. I had parts of three ceiling removed and the restoration looks terrible. There are obvious lines where the repairs were done. Also, they got either plaster or mold resistant paint on the hardwood floor in the master bedroom. They were supposed to put back the insulation that was removed from the attic, but since there were so many different people working on the project there were parts that were missed. I just had a home energy assessment done and the guy noticed that they had put insulation over the soffit vents in the attic, which your not supposed to do. I didn't even bother to complain about the damage or issues because I don't want to have to deal with them ever again. Half way through the in resoration, we were so done with them that we decided to go elsewhere to complete the work. Horrible, horrible experience.

We scheduled a service meeting, but during it, I found out that what I thought they did, they didn't do. They do the second step, which is the mold remediation. They don't do the first step which is the detection. So, they referred me to a detection company. After mold was confirmed, I was told by the detection company to go through homeowner's insurance. My insurance company wanted me to use their mold mediation company. So, I went back to RestorePro and we mutually agreed to cancel. They were very professional about it. This all took months, and the deal I bought had gone past the 30day return period, but RestorePro refunded it anyway. That's a good sign and so I can recommend them based on that.
Description of Work: They seem to be an honest company. We agreed to cancel the service signed up for. Read below why.

Hard to communicate, ask questions about the estimate and nobody wants to respond, just keep on saying will get back, but never happened. And on Wednesday I was told today is the last day of the service for 750 dollars of drying service, I have to pay more for the rentals of technicians visit, 75 dollars per day for humidifier, 25 dollars for air fan, etc., since the there are still some places show moisture, nobody told me the policy until the last day, given the fact they came in every single day from Sunday to Wednesday, not happy with the communication. Also one technician turned off the dehumidifier for one day during the service, but they don't care since it's not their house got flooded. So they left without fully drying up the basement. They opened some wood from the wall to dry, and never bother to put them back, so it's a mess now.
Description of Work: Came in on Sunday, used wet vac to suck the water out of the carpet, spray chemicals to the wall to prevent the mold, put down 6 typhoon air fans to blow the carpet, turned on dehumidifier to dry up the basement.

You don't want the details- this was a real nightmre of a project! Biohazardous waste was found under a house i own and rent out. Obviously, it needed to be addressed immediately and professionally I called one service (not on Angies list!) and was told that they could not even come evaluate the issue for a week- and then would schedule the work after that. I called Restpre pro after normal business hours and Dave was very helpful. A crew came by the property the next day to evaluate and then the work was done over the next few days. Dave (there are at least 2 Daves- both very helpful!) kept me posted on the progress of the project and it was done as quickly and professionally as i ever could have hoped. While i hope i never have to use them again, if I have an issue, i would certainly call RestorePro if needed and would recommend their services to anyone who needs them. THanks to Dave, Dave and the crew that cleaned up my crawlspace! You really helped me out!

Restorepro remediated the damage in our flooded basement Oct 10/2014. They removed a rug which they said they would clean and return. Since then, they have not returned the rug. I have phoned and emailed repeatedly about this issue and now, Tim Maston, who was in charge of our job, will not return my calls or emails. This is unprofessional and unethical as this is our property he has not returned. He has clearly lost it and will not deal with it. Our insurance company has already paid him in full for the remediation unfortunately.

Dear [member name removed], Thank you very much for your review. This is my written response to what we have already spoken about. When I found out "personally" about the missing carpet, I immediately contacted you. After that conversation I searched our warehouse to try and locate the missing rug. I was unable to locate this rug and notified you that I would reimburse you approximately double the amount of what you estimated the value of the carpet to be. I sent you out a check immediately for $500 for the replacement, and additional for the trouble we had caused you. Several days after, I remembered that we had a temporary cleaner in my office who had moved some area rugs and in further checking I found that your area rug had been rolled up into another rug. This is why our initial attempts to locate the rug were unsuccessful. I contacted you immediately after finding your rug, and we professionally cleaned, dried, and brought it back to your home. In addition, I asked you to keep the money $500 I had initially sent you. If for some reason, this is not fully acceptable to you please contact me anytime so I can make it right. I agree that the communication and handling of this issue by our project manager Tim Maston was unacceptable. I really appreciate your patience in this, and I am sorry we did not provide you with the exceptional service you deserved. If you have any questions or comments, please contact me anytime. Sincerely, Brian Bilowz Owner

In the bathroom there was a leak that permitted moisture to come behind the drywall and destroy a portion of it. They cut out the carpet and replaced it with some that I had stored. They opened the wall and treated the mold to kill it. They also covered it with a paint that is guaranteed never to deteriorate. They dried it overnight and then patched a part of drywall and a portion of the shower tile with a semi permanent fixture that is water tight and will remain water tight until we decide to replace the entire shower wall. But the immediate problem of leakage is corrected.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Brian Belowz and the Restorepro team. I reached out to Restorepro upon moving into a new home after extensive renovations (due to extremely poor upkeep by the previous owners). I was in a major panic because we had mold in the basement and a mice infestation worthy of a television show. The nasty odors were unbearable for me--not only am I sensitive to the mildest odors, I worried about the health implications for my baby. I contacted Brian over the Christmas holiday and he responded immediately. Within in 2 days I had an estimate that my contractor advised me was very reasonable. The crew showed up in snowstorms and completed the job in a reasonable time period. I had several questions/concerns/comments along the way, which Brian handled graciously and professionally. When the odor in my family room remained after the completion of contracted work, Brian provided further services for no extra charge. We are very satisfied with the work and now enjoy our home without the distraction of mold and the smell of a mice infestation!

When I called to speak with the owner and complain that they shouldn't advertise that they are a "full-service" outfit that will do all repairs necessary to return your place back to pre-damage condition, when, in fact, they are NOT a "full-service" outfit, the owner was unhelpful and refused to admit that his advertising was deceitful. For example, they don't fix roof ice dams that cause the majority of water damage in the winter. They have to hire another company to do that and you waste another day waiting for that contractor to come. I will NEVER do business with these guys again, and I highly recommend that you avoid them.
Description of Work: Showed up on their "emergency" service schedule within 2 hours only to tell me that they don't actually do the needed work and would have to hire a sub-contractor who couldn't be here until tomorrow.

Response from RestorePro Inc
Dear [member name removed], I am sorry that you were unhappy with your experience with our company. You contacted us and said that you had yellow spots on your kitchen ceiling and you wanted someone to fix it. We stated that we would send someone out within two hours to assess the damage. Our project manager arrived approximately an hour and a half later. He assessed the damage as being caused by an ice dam on the roof, and stated that he could have a roofing contractor we work with that could be out the next morning. He stated that at this point it was unnecessary for us to do any interior demolition or drying until the Ice dam on the roof was taken care of. At this you became very agitated and demanded immediate service. You called our project manager a liar, and began yelling at him, at which point he decided to leave, respectfully. You called our office and began to berate our customer service representative. I overheard the "bullying" and decided to intervene and take over the conversation. I explained to you that the "full- services" we provide are related to water damage restoration. This means we restore the damage caused by the water. I explained to you that we do not stop water from coming in (ie. we are not plumbers, we are not waterproofing contractors, we are not roofers, etc). You then stated if I didn't get someone out there immediately you would give me an "F" rating on Angie's List. I then stated that I would not send anyone out to work for you, (given the way you had treated us up to this point) and suggested that you contact another company. Once again I am sorry for the way things turned out, I understand that water damage can be a very stressful situation, and I hope that everything goes well for you. Respectfully submitted, Brian Bilowz

I used them for both mold removal and a complete new bathroom. I had seen multiple reviews on Angie's List about their quality work on mold removal and they were as thorough and professional as I had read. When there was a delay that was unavoidable (waiting for a permit to remove old asbestos tiles), and a couple issues arose during the wait they were immediately responsive and often the owner himself would call to make sure I was satisfied with their solutions. I find this company, and the owner Brian in particular, as very customer oriented throughout the project. I would often hear both the subcontractors and the Restoration Pro contractors voice the same sentiment, that they would do the work on my house as if it was their own house. While the project was delayed for the final completion, the quality of the work they did on every aspect of my bathroom was well worth the extra time they took to get things right. They were highly responsive, provided many helpful suggestions and were also flexible when I made changes (a few times) to the plan. They seemed as interested in my happiness with the final result as I was. In addition, as a further example of how much they care about their customer's satisfaction with their work, they had to remove the lower part of a bathroom wall, which meant a small portion of the adjacent room, a bedroom, would also be affected. As an unexpected courtesy and a display of generosity, the owner Brian one day showed up with a painter and told me they were going to paint my entire bedroom, not just the small wall area that needed to be replaced and they were assuming all the costs! They also handled an issue with one subcontractor whose work was done very well but their charges were higher than estimated and RestorePro honored their estimate. I am completely satisfied with all their work, thrilled with my new bathroom and have a lot of respect for the quality and professionalism of RestorePro. They do high quality work and truly care about the satisfaction of their customer at reasonable rates. You can?t ask for more than that!

Our water heater leaked and left 2 inches of water in the basement. They came punctually and cleaned the entire cellar. Great job !
