They were fine in terms of doing that work on auto pilot, but they were unpredictable in terms of getting the system to adjust as the landscaping evolved or if they failed to notice a problem. We tried to expand the system they repeatedly failed to return calls. Their people on the phone were curt and unprofessional. Clearly they are too busy for our business. We have moved on.

The entire landscaping project included having a new lawn and shrubs installed along with the lawn sprinkler system. Peter and his team coordinated the installation of the irrigation system on schedule. The technicians were very helpful in explaining the operating system and continue to be readily available to answer questions and address any operating concerns. Peter Pappas and his highly trained team make service their number one priority during the sale, installation and service of the irrigation system. To this day, PJ Pappas opens, services and closed our irrigation system. We highly recommend P.J. Pappas Company.

I've been a customer of theirs for the last 16 years. When time came to winterize my system this year, I was delayed in turning off my water. I received a nice call from the owner apologizing that they had not yet turned off my system and for me to call them. I then got a letter two days later telling me that "effective immediately," they will no longer be servicing my system. When I called the owner back, he was rude and unprofessional. Instead of figuring out a way to solve our issue, he wanted to argue with me and tell me it was all my fault. Not the way to treat a long time customer. Very unprofessional.

Competent for repairs, but unresponsive to requests, excessively rude and unprofessional, and have double charged for services. With 2 weeks forecast of weather in the 60-70 degree range, contractor refused to delay winter shut down, because "It's gonna freeze next week, lady". This is the 4th interaction with their rude personnel, who park trucks to block our driveway, show-up outside of requested service time frames, trample yard and flower gardens indiscriminately. I have fired them and found much better contractor out of Waltham.

On the day of my initial call Peter came right out and gave me a comprehensive estimate on an irrigation system and secondary water meter installation. While he was 5% more expensive than my other quotes he was much more detailed in the scope of his work and I felt he understood the plan better than the others. Before the job started Peter took the time to learn my wife and daughter's names and made a point to say hello to them each time he came to the house. Again, before the project started Peter identified an issue with my current water meter and gave me several ideas on how to fix it that didn't cost me a thing. Once I gave Peter a deposit he told me the work would start in 2 weeks, he started the project in 3 days. I have had a lot of work done on my house and have NEVER had a contractor start before they said they would. Peter and his crew were on time, very polite and cleaned up thoroughly before they left. I was shown how to use the equipment and told to call with any issues. I called Peter 3 days later to tell him about a head that was rotating too far and assumed he would come over with in a week to fix it, he showed up that day and took care of the issue. I have recommended PJ Pappas to a number of coworkers and will continue to do so.

I first contracted Peter 2 years ago to revamp my irrigation system (builder's special) and add landscape lighting. I had concerns with the installation that Peter got wind of through another contractor that I used. Peter exhibited fantastic business acumen and called me immediately to hear my concerns. He educated me about the system and his installation but as importantly, he listened. This can be a rare trait. 2 years later, my lawn is phenomenally green (the irrigation was clearly done right) and I hired Peter again to install additionally landscape lighting in the backyard. My home now looks like a resort. More important that the initial work done right, Peter is incredibly responsive. I have called several times for items that have need adjustment or service and he arrives either the same day or the next. Any warranty items are covered without discussion - both time and materials. While Peter is not the cheapest, I firmly believe that in this case, you get EXACTLY what you pay for. I would recommend PJ Pappas for irrigation or landscape lighting without hesitation.

Excellent. These folks are real experts in the lighting field. They use top of the line materials and are experts at installation. They bring a large crew so that the installation is done both professionally and neatly. I would use them again in a heartbeat and can recommend them without reservation. A+

We had this company install an irrigation system 14 years ago. Since then, they have winterized it in the fall, opened it in the spring, and have made any repairs necessary. We have been very pleased with their work.

Peter Pappas goes above and beyond what one would ever expect! He is a true professional; fair, honest. We have had our irrigation and lighting updated by him in the past. Since then, for maintenance purposes, we have had to call him to either add lighting or fix something that our kids broke. Every time we have called him, he has sent out someone the next day for us. Our most recent experience involved him fixing some wires that had been broken during our home renovation. We called him on a Sunday, and Monday his repair person showed up. The repair person left me a note, telling me he had been there, and would be back the next morning after he ordered the parts he needed to finish the job. The next morning, he was back out, and left another note saying the job was completed with a phone number in case we had any questions. Now, that is a professional!!! Communicates, has a sense of humor, and really cares about his company. Best of the best award to Peter and his crew!!!

They came in and did the job very quickly and professionally. They left the yard clean after they left. The owner was very nice and helped us to decide on what to put in. I was satisfied with their service.

Terribly. The pipe was installed last summer. A mechanical trencher was used for laying the poly pipe which crossed my lawn, so I assumed the trench was dug to the proper depth. The pipe was put in and the trench was covered by the Pappas workers. The faucet worked so I had no reason to doubt the installation. Two weeks ago, I discovered the pipe was negligently installed when it was pierced in two places during lawn aeration (plugs were out of the lawn to a depth of about 1 inch). I discovered that Pappas had installed the pipe less than 1 inch below ground! In both instances, only grass covered the piping. See the pictures below. According to Rainbird, one of Pappas' major suppliers, lawn irrigation pipe should be installed at a trench depth of six to twelve inches. These nicks were about 20 feet apart so I can only conclude that most, if not all,was insalled at the one inch depth, which is way too close to the surface according to Rainbird. I contacted Pappas' office and spoke to Jean Pappas. I told her what had happened and I would like them to fix it at their cost. She said that was something Peter Pappas would decide and he would call me back. He never did. So I sent a certified letter to Mr. Pappas with a detailed account of what happened along with the photos, requesting that they retrench the pipe to the industry standard depth or refund what I paid him to install it so that I could have it redone by another lawn irrigation company. The return receipt of the letter was signed for on October 3 by James Pappas. Today is October 12 and I have heard nothing from Mr. Pappas or any member of his company.

No complaints. I got 3 estimates, and they were all fairly similar. Pappas' team did a great job all the heads, boxes, rain sensor and timer are professionally installed. The system is very easy to use, though they gave us an overview of the system once it was installed. They come out every spring and fall to start up and shut down the system, and the maintenance costs have been reasonable.

Peter Pappas arranged to meet for an estimate promptly and showed up when he said he would. Workers showed up within a couple of days when Mr. Pappas said the work would be performed. At least eight workers showed up with what looked like state of the art equipment and both my front and back yards were finished within three to four hours. Workers were very efficient and did what I consider a very good job. They left my yard looking neat and there was not a lot of evidence of the work that was just performed. The supervisor took the time to explain the programing of the timer in detail.
