HS General Contracting

We hired HS to repair water damaged walls in two bedrooms and one bathroom. The work was done well and quickly. Humberto is a very nice guy. I would hire HS again in the future.

Humberto and his crew were fantastic and we will definitely hire them again for future projects. The quality of work is amazing. We're so happy with our new rooms! Humberto scheduled the first day of work within a week of us contacting him. He responded to all emails within the same day and always arrived on time or even early! In addition, Humberto and his crew were professional, courteous, and very neat. I highly recommend HS Plastering & Painting.

The crew did a wonderful job. They were punctual, neat and very professional. They went above and beyond our expectations and the attention to detail was impressive. We have an old house and it was so nice to see the woodwork transformed to look new. We would highly recommend Humberto and his crew for any painting job.

I purchased this deal at the end of January and was supposed to be contacted by the provider. When that didn't happen, I had to reach out to him. He responded to my message that he was booked until mid-April. I told him mid-April timeframe would work for me. As a courtesy, I gave him a few weeks to get back to me with a date to do the paint job. When I didn't hear from him, I reached out on 3/1 and then again on 3/3, which he did not respond to either message. I went to Angies List to request a refund on this deal and was told that since I had purchased the deal more than 30 days ago, that I was out of luck for a refund. DO NOT PURCHASE THE DEAL FROM THIS CONTRACTOR and be very careful when you purchase any deals from Angie's List since they clearly hang ou out to dry!!!!! And I would ask Angiel's List why in the world would you allow a contractor to offer a deal on their site when they can't complete the contract in a reasonable timeframe?????

Very well. I acted as general contractor after my builder disappeared in the middle of the job. I had some good contractors and some not so good ones. HS Plastering and Painting was at the top of the good list. The quality of their work was very good; no complaints there at all. But what stood out was the experience of working with them. They came when asked, did what they were asked to do, acted in a professional manner, stood by their work, and were a true pleasure to have as a contractor. They were quick, worked weekends to get the job done, and didn't cut corners. In fact, my realtor liked them so much that she asked for their contact information for other houses that she works on.

I chose Humberto out of 4 contractors and feel so fortunate I did! Humberto went above and beyond in ALL aspects of the job! We threw him several curve balls with wanting a wall removed, floors refinished and some cabinetry work done. He drew up change orders efficiently, and brought in excellent people to complete all the work we requested. The quality of his work, THOROUGH preparation, attention to detail, communication, cleanliness during the entire project, the final result...ALL were an A+! I was nervous about having our kitchen cabinets painted as I had read pros and cons with different applications. The method they used left our cabinets looking BRAND NEW...everyone that has seen them has said, "Oh, you got new cabinets, they're beautiful!" Humberto installed all new hardware for us as well. I can't say enough about the experience we had with them. I was 100% comfortable having them in our home, and they are super nice and polite on top of being EXCELLENT at their craft!

I have dealt with many painters over my life and these guys are clearly the best. It starts with the sales experience. Humberto wrote clear proposals and communicated well. They came when they said they would and worked 7 days a week to get the job done, but they didn't rush. While they were on the job, they focused on quality. Their work is simply outstanding. I also appreciated the way they conducted themselves on the job site. They were clean, neat, and professional. They didn't swear, yell, or act disrespectful to anyone. This is clearly an A+ painter.

Excellent work all around. Humberto is honest, thorough, considerate, efficient, responsive, and well-organized. He and his crew do exactly what he says they will do. The work was done excellently, with great attention to detail and cleanliness. They took a very bad situation and left us with a well-painted, attractive home. The price was fair. I recommend HS very highly and will certainly hire them again, as needed.

Excellent work, high quality, fair price. HS did some exterior work to our building last year - power washing, priming and repainting shingles and trim on top floor of third story building. That work was superb - quality, cost, and professionalism. When I needed interior work done I was confident in contacting Humberto and crew at HS Plastering. The crew came in while I was out on vacation and did another excellent job with the interior work. I came back from vacation and everything was perfect and cleaned up well. They needed to consult with me on some final trim work and Humberto came by within two days and completed the work. Highly recommended. I will not hesitate to hire HS Plastering again for any of my exterior or interior needs.

We selected HS after reviewing three competitive quotes. I was impressed by the owner's enthusiasm and professionalism from the start and we selected his company based on this, his very competitive price and the fact that he could handle both painting and plastering. Humberto and his crew were very professional, considerate and timely. Each evening, Humberto would let me know what time he and his crew would arrive in the morning and they were always on time. They took great care to cover the floors and furniture and we had no palnt spillage during the entire 2 weeks they were in our home. Since my husband and I are both self-employed writers, having a quiet and unobtrusive contractor was important to us. There were no radios (except ours) and very little cell-phone use, which we appreciated. HS's contract was very clear and we knew exactly what we were purchasing and the payment terms (1/3 up front, 1/3 half-way through the project and 1/3 at completion) in advance. Unlike many contractors, Humberto is comfortable using e-mail, texting, etc., so we didn't have to play phone tag. The work itself was excellent--particularly the plastering, which Humberto did personally. Of note was his crew's meticulous clean-up each evening. Frankly, I thought the vacuuming and consolidating all of their materials was just what everyone does until, that is, a few days later when we had a hardwood floor installed. THAT contractor left our home a mess each evening and I found myself wishing HS did floors! We will hire Humberto and his team again and wholeheartedly recommend them.

I was contacted promptly to schedule the work. They came couple of months later (it was acceptable for me). The crew came in and did the job in a professional way. Because the weather was starting to get too cold for exterior painting, I was explained my options and proceeded as agreed. The job was done with a good quality.

Humberto came and gave us an estimate. He gave us a start date and told us it would take 3 days. Everything went as scheduled. They took great care to protect my home from dust and dirt. The prep work was done very carefully. Painting and plastering came out great. There was a small problem that I noticed in the ceiling and it was taken care of immediately. It was fixed to my satisfaction. I would have no problem hiring Humberto again. Wonderful experience.

HS Plastering & Painting is a five-star contractor. Their work was gorgeous and the price was extremely fair. They showed up exactly when they said they would and met their deadline. They don't smoke, are soft-spoken and polite, they don't play a radio (which I can't stand), and they were wonderful with my dogs. They kept the work site very tidy, and cleaned up so thoroughly at the end of the day, you'd never know there was work in progress. They are completely trustworthy and had full access to my house, even when I wasn't there. I've asked them to return at the end of the summer for further work, and I look forward to seeing them again.

HS Plastering & Painting is one of the best contractors that I have ever used. The owner, Humberto, was a pleasure to deal with. He is very professional and had competent people who worked with him on the project. The administrative parts of the job were completed as smoothly as the actual work product. I can't recall the last time a contractor actually arrived on time every day and finished the work exactly when it was scheduled to be completed. I would use HS Plastering & Painting again, and highly recommend them.

HS Plastering and Painting just completed painting the exterior of my home. Humberto and his team were responsive and responsible, always came when they said they would, called if something came up delaying their arrival, and kept the job site clean and orderly every day. I was impressed with their attention to detail and the quality of work, and would definitely have them back for other painting or plastering I may need completed. My next door neighbor was so impressed by what she observed and our satisfaction, that she has already hired HS Plastering and Painting for a painting job she needs done. Humberto and his helper were excellent, from start to finish. They were punctual, communicated very well, were courteous and meticulous in their work. They were flexible in adding a few extra tasks on top of what was in the original estimate. The drywall work and paint work both came out great. I recommend them without reservation.

The paint jobs each came out great. The only thing that I was disappointed about was they each only did a room, and it seemed to me they couIld have done more painting that needed to be done, but took their time and only did one room. For that reason, I'm not sure I would hire them again using a daily deal price. Perhaps it would be better if the pricing were by the room.

BEAUTIFUL, METICULOUS, RESPECTFUL. We had water damage due to ice dams taking out half of our dining room ceiling, exterior downstairs bathroom wall, kitchen ceiling. He called me and arrived on time for our first meeting and always arrived on time for the rest of the visits.through the contract. The prep was amazing. They did everything they should in regards to going over old oil paint for the molding, which other painters did not do for our upstairs. They did not cheat in anyway by just painting it over like some contractors. They always arrived on time as scheduled, the clean up was fabulous. They laid down drop cloths, protected the hardwood floors. When I say they did a meticulous job I mean it. They scraped around the window frames, the china cabinet, then sanded and patched and skim coated areas in the wall. I have never experienced such precision when it comes to painting. The ceiling is far more beautiful than it ever was and they had to replace half of it. Humberto was patient when I wanted to add recessed lighting which was not really part of his plan or within his timeframe but he let it go and I was able to get the electricians in on time and it worked out fine. They are trustworthy, friendly and just perfect.

He did a wonderful job. The plastering was perfect, and he even matched the paint, which was not easy to do. He was a delight to work with. He answered messages, has wonderful manners, is very professional, and shows up on time.

Humberto did a great job, even plastering over a previous crack in the wall, which he didn't really have to do, but I'm glad he did. He did a wonderful job of getting the matching paint. You wouldn't know it had had a huge hole in the wall at all! Humberto was quick to respond to messages - even when he was on vacation. I like a conscientious contractor! Overall he was very professional, easily accessible by phone, text and email, which is a necessity these days, and he also did an excellent job. I would definitely hire Humberto for any plastering or painting job I have in the future.

This was the second time we used Humberto and as always he is professional, punctual and does an exceptional job! I will always call him and recommend him to friends, he is one of the most hardworking professionals out there

I bought the Angie's List big deal (2 painters for a day), Humberto responded quickly and came over to give me a sense of how much work could be done in a day. We determined that they'd be able to do our kitchen, dining area, living room, high-ceilinged entryway, and main hallway in the day, plus we added one day of prep work. Humberto did a great job on the prep work (we bought the house a year ago and the walls were a mess), then he and his assistant came the following day and did the painting. They did an excellent job, the walls look terrific, and we're thrilled. Really great work, very professional, for a great price.

Amazing! He exceeded expectations with the hallways & staircases (I thought they'd only have time for one). Then he recommended (but didn't sell) other work that would improve the ceiling & gave me a quote on the spot to think about.
