EXECUTIVE PLUMBING HEATING & CONTRACTING

WOW. I have never been so impressed with a contractor. We had a leaky shower faucet for our old Jacuzzi-brand (all-in-one tub/shower stall). We called one plumber who told us he could not work on it until we called Jacuzzi. We called Jacuzzi and were directed to a "certified" Jacuzzi repairman. He told us the part we needed wasn't made anymore and basically that we were stuck. We called back Jacuzzi and got the run around for several days. In despair, we called Executive Plumbing. They sent someone out ASAP (the next morning at 7:30am). The guy, Dave, was polite, prompt, and hard-working. He thought that the situation would either call for ripping out the entire shower component and reinstalling a new one, with new tiling, etc, OR, they could try to hunt down this part that was supposedly not made anymore. We're talking a difference of at least a few thousand dollars. I traded voicemails back and forth with Rich, the owner, who made several calls to Jacuzzi and plumbing supply stores, tracked down the part (also apparently made by Delta), and then had another guy come back within 30 min of our last phone call to check the part again. The plumber took the broken part, drove to Medford, found a replacement and installed it in about 2 hrs. He was exceedingly patient even with my 2 yr old buzzing around his tools and the tub. After all the legwork they did, they only charged me for the work and the part and none of the "office time" spent dealing with Jacuzzi. They also saved me thousands of dollars and definitely gained a customer for life. I am so impressed!! They are a pleasure to deal with, and so far, their work has been top notch. This is the second time we have used Executive Plumbing.

When the owner saw the bill he asked if they had just worked on this a couple months ago. When I told him they had, he didn’t put my check through because the work was essentially the same job. I thought that was really nice. We found this company through one of our friends.

Several very nice and well-meaning people, but considerable turnover in staff, and some major snafus that cost us a great deal. Examples: Leaking tub drain pipe, major leak in basement during installation, trouble with several valves in heating system, and subsequently with water tank. Principal problem with owner of the company, not the manager of the company himself...who is professional and conscientious.

I made an appt the day before, and tried to coordinate the appt with my work schedule. They even said they'd call me 45 minutes before the plumber would arrive, so I'd have time to get home from work. Sure enough, they called, saying someone would be there at 3pm. They arrived on the nose at 3pm, and in fact diverted someone who was heading home after finishing up early at a big commerical job in Boston. It wasn't a difficult job, but they got it done quickly and cleaned up after themselves.

I had good list of "little things" I needed done. New laundry shutoff, disconnect gas and water lines to extra water heater, disconnect radiator, install silcock. I also had them to do estimating for future jobs. Executive was easy to work with and talk to and was very good at spelling out the details of their estimates in writing. All work was done quickly, and completed when they said it would be done. I couldn't have asked for a more professional and respectful group.

Excellent experience. When I called to schedule service I was able to speak to the receptionist/scheduler immediately. (Note: many plumbers work independently are are lax on returning phone calls). The plumber arrived at precisely the hour specified, and conducted the work quickly and efficiently. He was congenial and professional.

Executive Plumbing Heating and Contracting did a poor job fixing our sink and plumbing issues. In fact, they made it worse. We are going to have to change the entire fixtures because there is a family of problems with the plumbing now. Since they came out to try and fix a small leak in the sink we have had no hot water in the bathroom. They then came out a second time and could not fix the problem. They charged us the first time but did not charge us the second time they when they came out to try and fix the additional damage they had caused with the first visit. They wanted to charge us for the second time as well, which I thought was very unprofessional.

The experience was great! They completed the installation on time, nicely organized plumbing and electrical parts of the installation, cleaned up at the end. The big part of this was the furnace/ oil heater they selected, we had no idea, we are on two years now and they have been great. We would use them again!

A slight glitch in scheduling but the company was apologetic and waived the $29 service call fee. Alllen was nice, checked to make sure the dishwasher did not leak and did not seem to mind me asking a billion questions. They were in and out in 1.5 hours. The dishwasher works and is level. No complaints. Thanks!

Great! We were very happy with the work Executive did for us, and we now use them for all our plumbing needs. They have also done a couple of emergency visits for us (including one on New Years Day for a leaking radiator). They've been very responsive, knowledgeable, and we're completely comfortable having them working in our home. We've recommended them to some family members, who have also had great experiences with them.

Everything went well. The only problem we had was none of the workers checked to see if our thermostat was properly connected, so the first time we turned on the heat, nothing happened. But once that was fixed, we have had no complaints. They arrived when they said they would arrive and they cleaned up after they were finished. The cost was probably average.

Two men from Executive came the same day both times I called them. The visits were about a week apart. I was disappointed when the leak in the hose developed, but can't blame Executive for that. The first hose was plastic, and they replaced it with a copper hose which should last awhile.

My heater stopped working abruptly, leaving me without heat overnight. I called several companies in the morning and Executive Heating and Plumbing were the first to answer my call. They said they would be able to send someone out that afternoon. The technician came around the scheduled time and took about an hour to open the heater and analyze the problem. He first tried removing air from the system and said that it might work although there was also a problem with the expansion tank that would eventually need to be replaced. He tried restarting the heater after draining the air but it started putting out lots of water and he said the expansion tank would need to be replaced to get the heat working that day. By this time he had worked about an hour and I asked him how much it would cost to replace the expansion tank and do the addl work. He said it was $85/hr and would probably take 2 addl hours plus parts which would not be that much. After he left and came back (I thought he was just going to his car but apparently he had to go buy the parts) he said that he realized there was a problem with the circulator as well and that this needed to be replaced at a cost of $250 for the circulator part alone. His explanation was that since the circulator was hot while the heater had been off for about 15 hrs it meant that the circulator went bad as well. It seemed to me that the chance of 2 independent problems occuring at the same time with the heater system would be extremely low but he said that when the expansion tank went bad it must have caused the circulator to malfunction as well. Since the heater was off I don't see why the circulator would continue to circulate the hot water but I am no expert in the area and he insisted that both parts needed to be replaced instead of just replacing the expansion tank and seeing if it worked. It took about 2 more hours to complete the work (plus the time it took him driving) and then he gave me the bill. I was surprised to find it was over $700. I asked for an explanation as there was no breakdown and he said it was 2 hours of overtime, an hour and a half of regular time, plus parts. I asked him what time overtime started and he said 4:00pm. Now it was around 4:00 pm when I asked him how much it would cost and he told me 2 addl hrs at $85/hr (which was not overtime pricing). If he was already at overtime why did he tell me $85/hr x 2 more hours instead of the actual overtime cost?? I also found the circulator to be expensive and a quick search on the Internet shows circulators that look the same selling for $100. He could not provide me with any receipts for parts stating that he got them from the warehouse and was verbally quoted prices. I find this lack of transparency disappointing. Apparently the time driving to get the parts (which he didn't tell me he needed to do) and making up the bill were included in the labor charge as well. On the plus side, Executive sent the person the same day and now everything works fine. They replaced the expansion tank, the circulator, and a valve. They were also the first to pick up the phone as I called several other companies first. According to the Angie's List explanations guide my experience was "Fair" and I would rate them as such.

The technicial was here within the time estimated. He had a guess at my problem from my description and confirmed my issue within two minutes of arrival. Repair/replacement work was completed quickly and efficiently. And, the technician tested the fixed unit, including not just proper lighting and heating but also that the automatic/safety shutoff features were properly working for the repaired unit. I was very satisfied with this experience and would recomend them without reservations.

It went very well. They were available next day for a regular service call, and arrived when they said they would arrive. They were both professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and got the job done (presumably, i.e. nothing has exploded yet) correctly.

The plumber was very professional from start to finish. The work was totally fine. The only complaint that I have is that it seemed expensive for what he did. It took much less than an hour, and yet I was charged for a full hour (plus the showing-up fee). Even so, I would definitely use these plumbers again.

The plumber showed up at the expected time. I had a laundry list of issues, the most serious of which was that the external hose connection was not working. I also wanted to install a new shower head because my current head didn't have a powerful enough stream, and my kitchen faucet was not as easy as it shold be. As it turned out, I had no serious problems. The external hose faucet needed a key to open it; someone else must have turned if off there, and I didn't know. I was given the appropriate type of key. The shower head had grit in its screen, and he cleaned it and showed me what he had done so I could do it myself. And the kitchen faucet was opened up and some worn parts replaced. I was struck by his good nature, his obvious competence, and his desire to both do the right piece of work and make sure that I understood exactly what needed to be done. Executive will be the plumber I call from now on when I need plumbing wori.

They've always been reliable, efficient, and professional. I would recommend to others.

In both scenaros, we needed someone immediately - once we had a big leak from a radiator and once we had no heat. They communicated very clearly about when they would arrive, came on time, were clear about the work that needed to be done, finished quickly, and charged a reasonable price. I was very happy both times.

Our pilot light kept going out, starting just before Christmas. Executive showed up very soon after our first call, sent service personnel out, replaced parts of the ignition, came back when the light kept going out, eventually discovered a small leak on the cast iron boiler elements and helped us explore options. When fixing the boiler proved eventually to be unfeasible, we retained the firm to replace the boiler. The work was done within one scheduled day and we had heat by the end of a very cold January day. They did a thorough job of re-piping around the boiler. They ended up not charging us for several of the visits made while diagnosing the problem. We got one other estimate, which was considerably higher. Executive was always immediately responsive, even on nights and weekends, in the midst of a very busy season. All the personnel involved, including Rich the owner, were very pleasant and professional.

They were very timely. The price was reasonable. They were thorough. They charged 1/3 of what the competitor would have.

This company was knowledgeable, conscientious and flexible when it came to dealing and working with the other contractors and schedules. They also went the extra mile in their work, like disposing of an old component and helping me find a contractor to do plastering repair work on the ceiling.

They were great. Very responsive and fixed the problem on the spot.

The man was running around like crazy trying to find me a boiler. He took a couple of days but it was OK because he found one for a good price. They were in my basement for a few days. I would recommend them and use them again.
