He was great, cleaned up, his assistants were just as professional.

Excellent. He arrived on time, was very professional, explained the job, performed the task, cleaned up and handed me a detailed invoice.

Given Sedar's other good ratings, I was disappointed by my experience with him. On the plus side, he was very polite, and seemed genuinely knowledgeable about his work--he discussed how he would approach it, and made good suggestions (namely upgrading our service, since we'd need to install a bigger panel). What was lacking was his approach to estimates and pricing. He gave us a verbal ''ball park'' estimate of approximately $2500, which was very close to what other firms estimates. But he then followed up with a written estimate for almost twice that amount. He had no explanation for the difference, but when pressed to explain, left us a voicemail in which he offered to give us a ''first time customer discount'' of 20% to defray the costs. We called to accept this discount, and was then told that he could not in fact offer it to us. All in all, it came across as flaky at best, and shady at worst. I suspect he's a competent electrician, but his business skills are lacking.

SEDAR RAYMOND PROVIDED A SIMPLE BUT IMPORTANT SERVICE WHERE IT APPEARED OTHER ELECTRICIANS (AND MOST RECOMMENDED ON ANGIE'S LIST) WERE NOT INTERESTED, LIKELY DUE TO THE SMALL SCOPE OF WORK. SEDAR, WHO ALSO GOES BY HIS SURNAME, RAYMOND, IS AFFABLE AND PROFESSIONAL. HE IS BEST REACHED BY CELL PHONE (RETURNED CALL QUICKLY; DID NOT RESPOND TO MESSAGE LEFT WITH ANSWERING SERVICE FEW DAYS BEFORE). REGARDING THE JOB, I APPRECIATED THAT HE FIRST CHECKED TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM WITH THE FAN COULD BE CORRECTED BEFORE ACTUALLY SWAPPING THE REPLACEMENT PART, BUT HE ULTIMATELY NEEDED TO DO THIS. HE DID IT QUICKLY AND WAS CAREFUL, USING HIS OWN DROP CLOTH AND CLEANING UP DEBRIS IN THE WORK AREA. I WILL BE CALLING SEDAR AGAIN WITH MY NEXT ELECTRICAL PROJECT, BIG OR SMALL. ALSO, HE HAS A TWO-HOUR MINIMUM CHARGE ($150), BUT WAIVED IT FOR ME BECAUSE OF THE SIMPLE SCOPE OF WORK--VERY MUCH APPRECIATED THAT.

NEEDED RESIDENTIAL ELECTRICAL WORK DONE. ON 7/25/05, I LEFT A MESSAGE ON THEIR ANSWERING MACHINE TO CALL ME. THEY DID NOT RETURN PHONE CALL.

WHAT A WONDERFUL ANGIE'S LIST FIND! CALLED AT LAST MINUTE WHEN OTHER ELECTRICIAN DIDN'T FOLLOW THROUGH. SEDAR CAME THAT MORNING AND DID THE WORK IMMEDIATELY. HE HAD ALL THE PARTS HE NEEDED IN THE TRUCK, WAS WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH AND VERY, VERY REASONABLY PRICED.

HIS WORK WAS FANTASTIC. HE ARRIVED WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD AND HE AND HIS ASSISTANTS WERE EXTREMELY POLITE AND FRIENDLY - EVEN TO MY DOGS! HE PUT IN EXTRA TOUCHES THAT WERE NOT PART OF THE CONTRACT AND WHEN EVEN MINOR ISSUES OCCURRED HE WAS AT MY HOUSE WITHIN HOURS OF ME CALLING HIM. HE WAS VERY CLEAN AND WORKED AT A STEADY PACE. I PLAN ON USING HIM AGAIN; I ONLY WISH HE WERE MORE THAN JUST AN ELECTRICIAN!!! EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT.
