Dudley Services was recommended to us by the contractor who was installing a new HVAC system. We needed to move asbestos wrapped pipes for our air return and, aside from calling Sam at Dudley, called a few other places for a quote. Not only did Sam respond almost immediately, but he came by quickly, provided a written quote quickly and gave us schedule openings before any of the other companies had even gotten back to me – further his quote was the lowest received. Sam walked us through the permitting and hazardous material process (we have young children, so this was important) and answered all of our questions and inquiries promptly, and usually within the hour. Dudley called to confirm the night before our scheduled abatement, and the guys were there at 8am (as promised) the next morning. The process was completed on schedule (2 days) and come in on budget (including the air test required by law for sign-off). I would highly recommend Sam and Dudley to anyone thinking about getting asbestos abatement.

The owner, Sam, was super fast to reply, very friendly, knowledgeable, and on the ball...As far as contractors go, he was definitely one of the best that I've dealt with. As for the work, his crew was on time, thorough, and left the place spotless when they were done. Definitely would recommend.

Sam returned my call quickly and came to access where the asbestos was in my home. He then arranged a day, rate, time, and air quality testing. We had to reschedule for a storm but Sam was communicative, responsible, conscientious, refreshing as a service provider. Not only is he professional and competent but he is a good human being which I think is an added treat when having service done on my home. I highly recommend his services!

They were very prompt. Their price was reasonable--less than other estimates I had gotten. They were very professional. I would recommend them. They were able to certify that the particulate amounts were at an acceptable level, which was important to have since I was selling my home.

They did a good job. I felt that their estimate was reasonable. I had gone to another company that saw some white spray paint that had been on our basement rafters and started to tell us that it was probably mold, so I thought that Dudley Services was honest and did the work in the amount of time that they said and it ended up really well afterwards. There were a couple of hiccups, but the start of everything went like clockwork.

Very thoroughly done and well planned. We cut and staged the access through the gable end of the attic; then Dudley Services reformed all the work of removal and disposal in two days. About 1200 square feet of attic was involved; and it was all completely clean after the work was done. An excellent company to deal with .... prompt and responsive.

I really liked Sam. He seemed very knowledgeable. I had several other estimates but his was the most expensive. He said it was based on more square footage of removal (at least 50% more and in one case 100% more) than any of the other estimates. When I called him to tell him of the situation he was not willing to adjust his estimate. He admitted the square footage was a guestimate (he didn't measure) but said the price was what it was and there was no need to revisit it. This was unfortunate and disappointing because I would have likely chosen him if he had adjusted his price even if wasn't the low cost bid.

I emailed Sam Nigro at Dudley Services Inc. in the am and within an hour, I got an answer back. He said that he could stop by that same day at 5:00pm to take a look. Mr. Nigro on time, took a look at the foil backed board, and said he didn't think the board contained asbestos. He was very knowledgeable about when it became illegal to use asbestos in houses, and thought that 1947, when the house was built meant that the board probably contained another safer fire proof material. On the other hand, Mr. Nigro cut a small sample of the board, put it in a zip lock bag, and told me that the material was different enough from anything he had previously seen-- that it would be good to have it tested. Mr. Nigro said he could take it to the local testing company, or I could. I said I would, because the testing company was located in an area I drove to often. Mr. Nigro informed me of the cost of asbestos abatement for the five reflective boards backing the recessed steam radiators, if asbestos were found in the sample. Mr. Nigro explained how each of the radiator areas would have to be cordoned off, etc.., and gave me a price for the removal. Mr. Nigro asked me to let him know the result as soon as I got it. I was prepared to hire Mr. Nigro on the spot, if the sample came back as positive for asbestos content, as he has a great demeanor, is kind and considerate, and easy to talk to. He gave a good description of how the possible asbestos abatement would proceed. The next morning, I took the sample to the testing company and within two days, I got the great news that it did not contain asbestos. As promised, I emailed Mr. Nigro, and I asked if there would be at least a consultation charge. He said, "No charge." Thank you, Sam Nigro!

After the tests for asbestos came in positive I called in Sam from Dudley for an estimate to remove the asbestos floors. Sam was courteous and knowledgeable. He gave me instructions on how I should prepare the areas for the asbestos removal. His price seemed very fair so I decided to hire him and Dudley Services. We agreed on a day 2 weeks in advance for the work to commence. Sam prompty sent me copies of his paperwork with the state to get the removal going. I prepared the house as Sam requested. I had several questions during this time to which Sam responded promptly over the email. The work began on time as described. His guys came in, and did the job in a professional manner. The work took 2 days; as far as I am aware Sam did not attend. An asbestos inspector was scheduled and came at the completion of the work. The next day my house was asbestos free and I received the invoice as agreed. I can't complain. They came in, got rid of the asbestos, and left the place cleaner than when they came in. It's obvious they have done this many times before. Although I would have liked for Sam to look over the work at least on completion, I still would definitely recommend them. The company seems like a well oiled machine.

They are listed on Angie's List. They were very professional when they came out and did the estimate. Everything matched up to the estimate. They were in and out in the time frame that they said they were going to be in and out. I had a very good experience with them. The price was right in line with every other quote I got. He was very good about getting back to me right way.

Requested asbestos removal from a newly purchased home prior to our move-in date. Dudley was very responsive and had all the necessary permits ready to go after our closing. The basement was left clean and asbestos free.

It went fine. The crew arrived on schedule and did the asbestos-removal dance as advertised: bunny suits, plastic on the walls, sealed area with negative air pressure. The job was done in one day which I appreciated, and the inspection was completed at the same time. The one slight nuisance was that they didn't score the tops of the baseboards before removing them, and this caused tears to the wallboard which will be finicky to repair. I understand that the service isn't about careful demolition, and I should have dealt with that myself ahead of time, so I'm not going to blame them for it. But a word to the wise: for best results if the baseboards are going to come off, pull them yourself.

I would highly recommend Dudley Services for asbestos removal. Sam Nigro responded immediately to my initial email request and came by the following afternoon to inspect the boiler. He emailed me an estimate later that same day. He was able to schedule my appointment for asbestos removal on the exact date that I requested and obtained all the appropriate permits and scheduled all the required state inspections. The entire process from start to finish was a breeze and all went according to plan. The guys removing the asbestos did a great job and left the basement in good condition. My only minor complaint is that when the workers took a break for lunch they smoked outside and left their ashes and a cigarette butt on the ground by my backyard. I have small kids but luckily I found it and disposed of it before my 2 year old discovered it. Otherwise they were very courteous and respectful. I received the final bill via email and was able to pay by credit card. A definite plus!

SUPERB! I can not give higher praise to a company. We needed the asbestos removal done in order for the sale of our home to go through. Two days prior to the scheduled asbestos removal, we learned that the sale of our home was being put on hold until the asbestos removal was complete and we could submit documentation to the buyer's lawyer. I called Sam Nigro the representative of the company who had given me the estimate and arranged for the work to be done and he assured me that this would not be a problem. The men were at our house at 8am. The job was completed by 9:30am and I had invoices, detailed work descriptions and air quality reports from the other agencies in my email inbox in a couple of hours. Sam clearly went out of his way to make sure that our needs were met. He was incredibly professional and responsive. Hoping we don't need asbestos removal in the future, but if we do I will call Dudley.

Sam , the owner, came right out to look at my job. I selected his company based on his professionalism even though he charged more than moist other bids. I liked the fact that he had a lot of Angie's experience and recommendations. A date was made for doing the work and his men were right on time. There was a day of prep and a day of removal. Upon completion of the work, an independent compliance inspector came out and approved the work. The basement was left neat and scrubbed.

My only problem was that they removed more duct work than I had asked. This was most likely due to the fact that my schedule prohibited me from meeting with them to show exactly what was to be removed. Dudley immediately recognized that I wasn't 100% happy and wanted to deduct the cost of replacing the extra duct work from the bill. Since I was having trouble with my other contractors though, I wasn't able to get a fair cost of the extra expense. Since Dudley did a good job themselves, I was happy just knowing they were willing to go the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied.

It isn’t cheap because we are talking about hazardous materials; they have to wear crazy suits and everything. We didn’t use them but a friend of mine ended up using them. I would say they were the best company and the most professional, but we found someone that was about $500 cheaper. I would recommend getting a quote from them.

I'm so thankful that I called Sam at Dudley Services. I was in the early stages of gut-renovating my kitchen and about to tear up a very old linoleum floor. But I had heard that some old linoleum floorings from the 60s had asbestos in them, and I assumed my floor was from that era -- based on its color and hideousness. I called one abatement remover and he took a look and said yes, it looked like asbestos and it would cost about $1500 or so to tear up. UGH. I called Dudley and Sam took a look at said he thought the floor was too old and predated asbestos. He cut a few samples from a discreet area and had them tested by a lab. The results came back free and clear of asbestos. Sam charged me only for the lab tests, which altogether were around $50 or so. I saved so much money!!!

Absolutely no complaints. Sam came out and did the estimate the day after I called, the work was scheduled, the crew arrived and did a fantastic job. The price was reasonable, and I got all the proper documentation I needed.

They were very good at everything. They removed asbestos from the basement. They did the work very cleanly. I rate them high overall.
