I hate to give anyone a bad report but our experience was BAD. We had seen the last report and knew the work might not be perfect, but after talking to Nina (the owner) who was nice and professional we decided to take our chances. She quoted us over the phone and the guys showed up to work within a week. I don't know what happened but swirls around the edges were the least of our problems. The staining was very uneven, the work was extremely sloppy, and our house was a MESS when they left. It took us several hours to clean dust and a day to repaint all our trim. There is still stain on the bottom of the toilet and sink that we haven t been able to get off. The thing that bothered me most was that they broke something of mine and stuck it in a corner for me to find long after they'd gone. When we complained to Nina she apologized and offered us a free recoat in a year (no thanks!). Maybe we should have pushed and had them clean and repair but we just wanted to be done with them.
Description of Work: Stain and apply 2 coats of poly to an unfinished floor in a kitchen and half bath.

Extremely professional, on time, reasonably priced, polite workers, trustworthy, & most important, they care about the reputation of their business & are ethical business owners. Unfortunately one employee had a bad day & didn't pay close attention to the work he was doing. I would definitely hire this company again without question & recommend them to all Angie's List members. I would have given them an A for "Quality of Work", but since the perimeter of the floors had some swirl marks, I am giving them a C until they come & redo them. I will post another report after they come back which will be toward the end of the summer.
Description of Work: Hired this company to sand, stain, & apply 3 coats of polyurethane to the floors in my entire house (3 beds, 2 hallways, stairs, living room & dining room- totaling roughly 1400 square feet). Overall the floors look great, however the guy that they had do the edging (the perimeter of the floors & the stairs) left swirl marks with the sander. I was very disappointed when I saw the swirl marks, called the owners of the company, they came out that day, agreed that this was unacceptable, & said that they would refund 100% of my 50% deposit which was $937.50 & they would also come back at my convenience to redo the floors, & they would even come in & clean the house after the floors were done. They have been extremely professional, attentive, & genuinely feel bad about the work that was done. I said to the owner, "I just want the work done right" & she replied, "it won't be just right, it'll be perfect". These people are very professional, turning this into a good experience for me.

MY EXPERIENCE WAS MIXED, BUT I HAD A REASONABLY GOOD END RESULT. WHEN THEY CAME TO DO THE ESTIMATE, WE TALKED ABOUT REPLACING SEVERAL BOARDS, AND THEY SAID YES, THAT THEY COULD PUT IN NEW FIR PIECES WHERE I WANTED THEM. THE DAY THAT THEY WERE ACTUALLY WORKING ON THE FLOORS, I GOT A CALL SAYING THAT THEY COULDN'T USE FIR SINCE THEY HADN'T ORDERED IT IN ADVANCE, AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO USE RED OAK. THEY HADN'T TOLD ME THAT THE FIR NEEDED TO BE SPECIAL ORDERED, AND SO I HADN'T MENTIONED IT WHEN I CALLED TO SCHEDULE THE WORK. SO, THEY PUT THE RED OAK IN ONE AREA, AND THEY MANAGED TO SALVAGE A BIT OF THE FIR FROM THAT LARGER SPOT TO PATCH A SMALLER SPOT THAT IS MORE VISIBLE (WELL DONE!). THE RED OAK LOOKS OK, BUT IT DEFINITELY DOES NOT MATCH. OTHERWISE, THEY DID A GOOD JOB, ALTHOUGH THEY SCUFFED UP THE SHOE MOULDINGS IN ONE OF THE ROOMS. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF CLEANING UP THE DUST, AND THEY RETURNED LATER TO FIX A SPOT WHERE THE POLYURETHENE HAD POOLED.
Description of Work: THEY SANDED AND REFINISHED THE OLD FIR FLOORS IN MY LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM.
