ARCH PAINTING

The overall project went very well. They did fine work and they responded to my needs. There were a couple of additional things that came up and needed to be attended too. They were good about taking care of those needs. They were not clear with me about who I should have been communicating with. They do not have good internal communication. There was an issue with rain so I called the scheduler to ask them not to come out. When the painters showed up the painting foreman told me that I should have called him instead of the scheduler. I told him that I would have been happy to call him instead except for that they had not communicated that with me and he had never given me his cell phone number. This happened twice during the project. It ended up causing some tension throughout the project.

This company is fantastic. The work started on schedule, with a check-in call from the scheduler. The work has been extremely high quality and thorough, and it has been a LOT of work. The house had not been thoroughly scraped and sanded is at least 10 years. The whole job has been scrupulously clean, no debris or litter or damage to any landscaping. The house looks absolutely beautiful!

They did a good job. It took longer than expected because of all the rain in June and July which is not the painters fault. My concern was that they did paint on some days when rain was expected and some of the days it started to rain within 1/2 hour after they finished the painting for the day. The supervisor always called to let me know when they were coming and always returned my phone calls within 1/2 hour.

Arch power-washed the building on the date specified, although it was raining hard. They were a couple of days late in starting the actual painting, but that was because of more rainy weather. The painting crew worked overtime on several days to make up for time lost to rain. Although this is a large building with a complicated color scheme, the work was completed in exactly a week. Instructions given to the Arch crew as to the specific brand and type of paint to be used and the five colors selected from the paint company's Victorian palette were followed exactly, as was the placement of the colors on the building. Arch's crew used a spray gun to get paint between the building's cedar shingles (something the original painter had not done) and then went over the shingles with brushes. When not quite enough paint was applied to staircase rails, so that some wood grain showed through, the crew came back an extra day to redo that part of the work. Everything was cleaned up when the crew had finished. The final job looks wonderful!

We were extremely impressed by our experience with Arch Painting. Not only did they give us a very competitive quote for the job, they then were able to start work on our house very quickly as we are about to put our house on the market. Their prep work was carefully done. They were able to make multiple repairs to small areas of wood rot around windows, patching the foundation, and they even repaired broken shingles without being asked. The painting looks great. Initially I wasn't quite clear what the timeframe would be because of variable weather, but the crew chief returned my phone calls promptly and they were always very professional and polite. I knew I had made the right choice when my picky mother pronounced them "really good" after watching them all day!

Some shingles in the wood needed to replaced, and they repaired it. The sales staff came out, and gave me an estimate, and talked me through the work. Then the crew came out and did a great a job. They were professional, responsive, and the quality of work was good.

This company gave us an excellent experience. They were very good to deal with, communicating and scheduling. They made sure that the weather was right and didn't rush things. David, the on sight supervisor was excellent. The shingle repair was not initially right. With out push back they corrected the shingles. The other carpentry work that they did and painting was fine.

Three people came, about 20 min. late. The leader divided up the work among the three, then they went to work. They worked carefully and steadily, and fast! I noticed immediately that the paint color I had chosen for ext. doors looked hideous, so I went out and bought a better color. Arch did not quibble about having to wait, or paint over the 1/2 door where they had started. They wanted to finish work by 5 PM. I think they rushed the last inspection and fixing of small errors in order to make that deadline. That is why I grade them a 4 instead of a 5.

They did a good job. I would hire them again.

The crew arrived on schedule and worked efficiently and quickly. In general, the job was done carefully and properly, although I later discovered quite a few small omissions (nail holes not filled, unpainted area behind downspout, missing caulk). Arch returned and corrected all of these.

After we got the initial alignment worked out on what we needed done and how we would like them to perform the task, they came back and did everything they said they would and to our expectations. They arrived on time and kept to their schedule, did a good job of painting, and cleaned up well.

Very professional presentation of company, references, and liability insurance coverage. Quote was rendered in timely manner, and was best price of three quotes. Painters started early to take advantage of a run of warm dry weather (mid-October, so weather gets risky from now on). Employees were courteous and business-like. All paint chips and trash were cleaned up and removed. Arch stayed within estimate even though I had overlooked a weather-beaten attic window behind a storm window that wasn't included - they painted it with no upcharge. House looks terrific!

They did an amazing job. As others have stated, Arch is unbelievably professional. When I called for an estimate, Adam (their estimator) came out within hours. He was thorough and fun to talk to. Before he left, I had what turned out to be the final estimate and an extensive list of references. Most of the workers don't speak English so communication was through the team leader, Evandro. He's amazing. Diligent, easy to communicate with, accommodating, pleasant, knowledgeable and an excellent manager. They started a day later than originally planned because of another job running over. When they did come, they went right to work, rarely taking a break. The first week was dedicated to doing the inside work and prepping the outside of the house. During the middle of this, we had a death in the family and I had to leave town. They adjusted their schedule without any discussion. When they restarted they focused on the outside and did that in a week. They did forget to do a couple of outside doors but came back immediately to paint them. The work was meticulous, they worked from early morning until sunset, they cleaned up after themselves every day and, most of the time, you didn't even know they were here. My wife is already cooking up more work for them. They were great and I couldn't recommend them more highly.

They were very prompt with the quoting and the work. They did exactly what we wanted them to do. They did a walk through beforehand and when my husband found a few other things he wanted done they did those without a problem. We were very satisfied with the way it turned out.

It was a very good experience. The salesman that came out was very nice and did great follow up. The painting crew that came out did great repairs and were very careful with the paint to make sure they did not get it anywhere else.

Went very smoothly. After receiving a proposal from Adam, the foreman of the project contacted me to review details of job. We needed the project completed in time for an event we were hosting. Upon completion, a painter was sent back to meet and touch up any areas that were needed. This was done promptly.

It went smoothly. They showed up at the designated time and began work immediately. They would have had it finished in one day, but had to stop due to a thunder storm. They cleaned up all their supplies before leaving. Very professional. The only negative is that they took our sample of paint and the remaining from the newly purchased paint, so we have none to do our own touch ups.

They worked with our subcontractors. We discussed in detail how they would do everything. They gave us a quote. Not everything was done that I expected. There were some small aspects that weren't done.

Arch was very prompt in getting started and completing the work. There was some delay in finding the correct type of siding which had to be special ordered. However, the carpentry and painting was completed as promptly as could be. We did change our mind about the color of the exterior stain after painting had begun, however, Arch was very accommodating and offered what we thought to be a fair price for the change. The work crews generally were good about cleaning up afterward. The total job for painting, including the change in color was $4900. The remainder was for labor and material for the carpentry which was fairly extensive.

Arch Painting returned my call within a day to set up an appt. for an estimate and were at the house within a few days. The representative arrived on time and was very professional. After walking around the house and explaining what I wanted done, he wrote up a proposal as well as provided me with a reference list, certificate of insurance and pictures. After a period of time passed and the company realized I wasn't using them, they sent out a survey and offered either a $5 gift card to Dunkin Donuts or Barnes and Noble for a returned survey. This showed me that they are truly interested in understanding why they were not chosen and finding out whay they can do to make sure they are the company of choice the next time.

Overall I think Arch did a good job. The crew arrived as arranged and worked quickly and effectively. They cleaned up pretty well at the end of the day and at the end of the job. I got helpful advice from the crew manager, Regina, about paint colors. They were flexible about allowing me to add the two window frames to the job, as they weren't included in the original estimate (I paid a little more than the estimate as a result). The preparation and filling work was done very well (the walls were bad, and are now markedly better), and most of the paint work looks good. The porch in particular looks great (I have received compliments from my neighbors!). However, there are some aspects I wasn't 100% happy with. There were some places where another coat of paint would have helped (unevenness in the color and/or base coat showing through) and quite a few paint splashes on non-painted areas, particularly in the bathroom (which is admittedly a small and somewhat awkward space). Arch called me after the job was completed to ask if I was happy with it, and when I discussed the aspects that troubled me they sent a representative back to fix them, which was great. That mostly covered it, although probably as a result of miscommunication one part wasn't done right and I will need to do it myself (I can't face asking them to come back again!), and I am still finding paint splashes in some areas (it's clear from the color that they are new, mostly they are small). My overall impression was that they were working at the limit of what they could get done in the allocated time, and thus it bordered on rushing. However, I have never paid for paint work before so I have nothing to compare this to. I got 3 quotes for this job and Arch was the middle one.

They were punctual, knowledgeable and professional. They were very flexible about drafting the estimate and timely with the job.

They were on time and professional. They did a pretty good job. I was pleased with the service and I would recommend them to anyone. The price was reasonable as well. I was overall satisfied with the experience.

John came out promptly to review the scope and we received the estimate the next day. There was some misunderstanding about the scope that was apparent on the estimate and also there was an Angie's List discount applied, but the math was wrong. The price was close to the other estimates we received, but due to the above mentioned errors, we did not feel comfortable hiring this company.

They were excellent. Good price good workers.
