ARCH PAINTING

The job was just finished today (9/3) and we are estactic with the result! Willy and his crew worked diligently with a fine attention to detail even in the hot temperatures we had this week. There were meticulous in their work and clean up everyday. When you hire a contractor, the concern is who is going to come to your house; college kids, hacks paid under the table, or professionals. Arch painting sent out 100% professionals. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking to hire a painting contractor. To top it off, they came in with the lowest quote!

Arch Painting was responsive by email and 2 painters arrived 45 minutes early and were very polite, professional and eager to please. I ended up spending 1/3 of what I would have spent if I had accepted quote by another contractor. I would recommend Arch Painting and plan on having them back next year.

They came in with the lowest price of 3 contractors contacted. Also were most flexible in scheduling the work. Showed up on time performed all agreed to work in one day. Everything came out well. Looks good.

It went very well. In fact, the last company we used had done such an inadequate job that the paint was peeling in a year. Now it's been about 5 years and it's beginning to peel in certain spots, but very few even now. We would definitely have this company do the work again. They did solid prep, and were very professional.

This took place a couple of years ago. What I remember is a personable crew, had no problems with scheduling or neatness. However, we had to have them back to re-paint some stained areas of 2 bathroom ceilings. We ended up fixing them ourselves. I don't remember the cost.

The representative arrived on schedule with all the information requested. A quote was provided in less than 24 hours along with the additional details requested. The quote estimate only took about 20 minutes and they were accomodating to all our requests.

They painted our entire house and we could not have been more pleased.

They worked for us some years ago - as far as I can remember work was just fine and price reasonable. Cannot provide anything more specific.

They were clean, responsive, and very reliable. I will be using them on future projects

We've had Arch Painting come for 4 separate jobs over the years. Each time the quality of the work has been great. You're working with a quality firm: not some fly-by-night firm calling up guys to be painters the day before the job. They know what they're doing, they do it right, no mess. They did the work as scheduled, with no last-minute delays or snags. I'd rather pay for quality, instead of skimping a little on the price and receiving a lousy job. Arch painting has served my house well: I'll definitely use them again.

Very responsive from first contact. Showed up on time, worked hard, finished in one week. End results look great, neighbors very complementary. No problems-so far :)

Representative was very friendly and did provide estimate shortly after by e-mail. We had used this provider the last time our home need painting and were thoroughly happy with the results. However, the estimate was not affordable for us. We do thank this company for taking the time visit our home.

They were very easy to work with. After a walkthrough and estimate, they were great about working with us, giving us ample opportunity to tweak our decisions during the project. And when it came time to get the work done, no fewer than a half-dozen crew members came, making the job fly by. We are thrilled with how it turned out.

Reasonable price, reasonable quality, pretty reliable around timing, and flexible in scheduling. Surface prep was certainly OK, but could have been better. Did use somebody else when we repainted.

They were competitively priced, did the work in a professional and expeditious manner, and did what we contracted them to do without any problems.

the whole process went very well. they were patient while I got other estimates, worked with me to lower the prices by adjusting some of the services, arrived on time, finished on time, left a clean work area. I love Arch painting. I've used them before to interior paint my mother's house who was a very heavy smoker. they did a fabulous job there as well.

Overall we were extremely pleased.Curtains were not rehung properly so I called the office and they came right out to rehang. The office was very understanding. A few areas needed another coat of paint and there was no problem to them to take care of. I had read in a previous report that they did not cover shrubs, we did not find that to be true at all.They were very neat both inside and out. The painting team was very professional and courteous.

They were professional and had a competitive bid. No problems with the work itself and it originally looked good. However, peeling started after less than one year. I called them and they came back to touch up under warranty. Peeling again within one year of touch up but by then we were out of warranty.

My wife and I had a two rooms painted on our second floor. The walls were in very good condition so there was little sanding/touching up needied and the baseboards were all in good shape. I have two children who happened to be home the days of the project due to being sick but they still were more interested in watching the guys work then stay in bed. I mentioned to the kids to get in bed and not bother the workers but they said they were fine with them watching. One of the worders actually gave one of my children a paint brush (no paint on it thankfully) and had him pretend to paint the door on the outside of the room. I did have two other quotes and they came in on average around the same and they were able to start the job within a short period of time which was a around a month which worked out perfectly for us. I would hire them again and appreciate how clean the kept the immediate area...I gave them a B on the price because I"m use to doing a lot of work myself so despite only seeing two other bids I'm not sure how good the price is...

They came out the first time in November and did a sloppy job and they made a mess. I paid them and they said they would come back to fix it and paint my bathroom. They came back out and didn?t fix the other stuff, but started with the bathroom and it ended up being a huge mess. The boss of the company came down and looked around, took some notes, and took pictures. He agreed it was bad. He sent out someone else to fix the living room and tried to fix the bathroom. They did an ok job when they came back out, but it is not professional. They also did not do the type of painting I had requested. They left me one h*** of a mess and they were abusive to my husband and disrespectful to my property. The boss was also very disrespectful and hostile. We asked them to help us put up something they took off the wall to paint and they refused. The workers were walking out almost swearing at us. My husband and I had to take 2.5 hours to clean up the mess. 10/2/12 Addendum: The company also plastered the ceiling, but now it is chipping away. Also, the company doesn't hire qualified painters.

They're excellent. They were quite good.

We hired Arch after evaluating both painters and new siding. In terms of bids, they were about twice as expensive as hiring a neighbor who "does painting," and about half the price of even a low end siding replacement. Even though I have a few negative comments, we're very pleased with the outcome. The crew worked very hard and at the end of the day the house looks fantastic. Before hiring Arch, I had some concerns about how paint would adhere to aluminum siding, and I asked very specific questions about the primer and preparation to be done. The sales person I worked with (Joshua) was knowledgable and specific, and shared reference accounts where similar work had been done. The operations manager (Jennifer) was more vague, and finally the leader of the crew (Silverio) knew what was going on. When it came down to the guys doing the actual painting, language was sometimes an issue (we didn't have a language in common) - and I wound up calling Jennifer and Silverio on the phone to clarify things. At one point, I saw the crew applying primer coat from a bucket of a different sort than I expected. The paint they were using was from the same manufacturer, and was the correct custom color, but it was a different product line than I was expecting. The eventual response was that the crew re-uses paint buckets. After that interaction the crew started removing the labels from all the paint buckets that they used. The real comfort comes from the two year warrantee. If the paint begins to let go from the house in a few months, I will certainly be calling them. The proof is in the pudding, as they say, and it looks great today. The first crew to arrive were the power washers. They did a thorough single-day job cleaning dirt, dust, pollen, and so on from the siding. The pace of the job was determined almost entirely by the weather. This spring has been quite rainy in Boston, and Arch was up-front about the fact that we would need to wait for several dry days in a row in order to paint. After the power washing, we had three weeks of intermittent rain, so the project was delayed through no fault of the company. At a break in the weather, a new crew arrived and set right to work. The crew was about six guys, who worked from 8:00 in the morning through 8:00 in the evening. The paint crew got the entire house scraped and half-primed on the first day, then completely primed and painted on days two and three. Silverio was there for the beginnings of phases, but left things to the team the rest of the time. Second objection: These guys were murder on my plants. We have flowers and small gardens around the house, and after the first day - I found several plants that had died, crushed under the foot of a ladder. In addition, they had set their lunch coolers and so on across another garden. I put stakes in the ground next to all the plants that mattered, which seemed to help a bit. However, any plant not marked with a stake took some serious damage. I suspect that some of this was due to plants being hidden under drop cloths. I still felt it was careless, especially after I had asked them to pay attention. Unfortunately, it rained in the evening after they painted, and we were left with a streaky appearance on the siding. I went back and forth with the crew, and finally with Jennifer at the office, about whether this was just the continuing damp weather, or what. Eventually, Silverio came out and looked at the paint and declared that we needed a whole new coat on everything. He took care to make sure that I understood that this was a bunch more paint and a bunch more work - but that they were going to make it look great for me. They waited for several days of sun, and then a two man crew spent another two and a half days going back over everything. At the end of the day, I think that the house looks fantastic. Like any big house project, there was some stress involved - but I think that Arch did a fine job, and I would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Went absolutely great. The house looks fine - the crew was polite - punctual - clean. Everything went as advertised. My flower beds were well protected and everything was put back where it belongs.

They were terrible and I don?t know how they got such a high rating. They broke multiple plants in my very imporant garden although they had promised not to injure any. I had to keep calling them back for both omission and also various damages they did to the house. Each item I complained of they denied. The foreman, to save himself since he was responsible for the crew, told his headquarters that I was a liar. They did finish what they did do on time. And they did repair some of the damages to the house (although none to the grounds). For instance, they had broken off almost all of the hardware pieces that hold the shutters onto the house; and ultimately they sent someone to replace the missing hardware. But I couldn't get them to fix everything on the house nor to do anything about the grounds. Ultimately, the foreman's empassioned denials, hostility, and name-calling exhausted me to the point where I had to give up on on dealing with the company. Thus I absorbed the rest of the losses.
