I called to get them to take a look at my tub as it had some sediment. I was quoted $119 for a consultation. The guy came, ran a bath, figured out the issue was simple and it was something I could fix myself. He was in and out in 15 mins. I then get an invoice for for $248. I call to complain, they tell me the $119 is just to get them out and the extra is for services. The Bill literally says: • Plumbing Consultation Fee • The rest is for "custom" After speaking to an unfriendly lady online she tells my 119 is just for the travel. Then why was I quoted 119 and why is it literally called "Plumbing Consultation Fee" Feeling a little scammed here.

I got 3 quotes to replace my boiler. Addario’s was on the high end but I chose them because the “comfort advisor” kept stressing how good the service was and the fact that it was a small, local company. I signed a contract to have the boiler replaced, an air intake created and the chimney lined for ~$16K. Payment terms were 40% at signing, 40% at start of job and 20% at finish. When the crew came out to set up the job, they told me we didn’t need to line the chimney. They sent me a new contract for about ~$13K. I had them re-issue the contract because it was wrong: it stated that they would install the chimney liner for $13K. I never signed the contract because I had a question. Addario’s scheduled the job anyway. They started about 8:00 on a Friday morning in February. The job wasn’t finished when they left around 6:00 on Friday evening. There was no air intake, the boiler wasn’t working, and we had no heat overnight. This is what went wrong: The electrician wired the boiler incorrectly, so the boiler wouldn’t work. The plumber had a leak which fried the circuit board. The expansion tank was crooked. I called the office to let them know the expansion tank was crooked and needed to be fixed. Two Addario’s plumbers came back on Saturday with the wrong part, they waited around for a new part. Installed new part, but still didn’t work. The leak ruined the transformer as well as the circuit board. My husband (a retired plumber) had a transformer in stock. The boiler was fixed by Saturday afternoon, but the expansion tank was still crooked. I had to call Addario’s again a couple of days later to schedule the expansion tank fix and the inspection. It took more than a week for them to come back and fix the expansion tank. The plumber did a nice job with that. It snowed the day the inspection was supposed to take place, but they didn’t bother to let me know the plumber who would handle didn’t make it in because of the snow. I had to text them to find out if they were coming. The inspection did not take place. Addario’s called after the inspection was supposed to take place to tell me that the job would not pass inspection without the air intake. They were still holding my $3K refund. Addario’s had to come to the house again to install the air intake. It wasn’t just the plumbers that we had a poor experience with. I wasn’t happy with the office either. They charged my credit card the second and third payments without so much as a courtesy text or email that they were doing so. Additionally, they over-charged me. They charged me the price that included the liner when they did not install it. The difference was over $3K. My credit card statement for the month closed, so I had to put out the extra $3K and wait a month to get my refund. The office refused to issue the credit until the inspection was completed. The whole thing was a terrible experience. Knowing what I know now, I would have chosen a different vendor. I will definitely not use them again, except if the boiler breaks down while it is under warranty (5 years).
