New England Gem Appraisals, LLC is your leading choice for all your fine jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, watches, coins, precious metals and silver flatware appraisal needs. Beth Doughty, a Graduate Gemologist (GIA), is the only appraiser in the United States to have attained the titles of Master Gemologist Appraiser®, and Certified Master Appraiser, NAJA. She also holds the title of Accredited Senior Appraiser from ASA. Steve Doughty holds the designation of a Numismatic Scholar from the American Numismatic Association. He is a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors as well as the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers. He is one of a very few qualified appraisers of coins and watches whose business is solely appraising coins and watches. We will appraise your personal valuables at one of our convenient locations in Winchester Massachusetts or Kennebunk Maine. We are also available to travel to your secure location with our portable gemological laboratory. Description of Work: This lovely husband and wife team were wonderful! They appraised a diamond ring for me and taught me a lot about the process of selling jewelry. They were incredibly responsive and sent me a written report exactly ehen they said they would. I will definitely use them again in the future!

I had a tough time finding a well qualified and truly independent jewelry appraiser in the Boston area. I'm SO glad I found Beth Doughty. She has a wealth of knowledge and years of experience in the jewelry industry, and is super friendly and accommodating. She thoroughly examined my jewelry and answered all my questions. She and her husband gave me all kinds of helpful advice regarding insurance, purchasing jewelry, and grading gemstones. The appraisal meeting was about an hour long. Beth called me a few days later to let me know when she'd completed the report. I received in via mail a few days after that, about a week after our in-person meeting. It was beautifully put together, easy to read, and comprehensive.
Description of Work: Performed appraisal of multi-stone ring for insurance purposes.
