+ -1 moreEvery company has the right to take on or not take on any job they want. I just thought their response was odd. We have had plowing done for years without any company expressing this concern or refusing to do the job. No one has ever crashed on the driveway. We also put our cars in the garages during storms.
Description of Work: This company responded to my request for an estimate for snowplowing of a shared driveway. The company checked it out and said they wouldn't plow our driveway because it was on a slight grade and they were afraid their truck would crash into something.

+ -1 moreWe got multiple quotes from Arlington-area landscapers. We knew the cost of the sod and fill, and are capable of doing the work ourselves, so we had a certain price in mind to save the trouble. The big names in Arlington seemed to be looking for the equivalent of $40/hr plus $1000 clear profit. I don't remember JTI's price, but they were $1000 or more cheaper, doing precisely the same job. Owner was responsive and very personable/etc/etc. We watered it just like he asked until it was established, once of the best front lawns on the block!
Description of Work: Filled/prepped and installed about 600 sq ft of sod, with a crushed blue-stone border against some decking

Description of Work: Called JTI Landscaping about installing a drywell. Took two weeks for the owner to return my message, on a Thursday. Said he would come out on the weekend and give me an estimate; and that he would call, the next day, Friday, to set up a specific time. I didn't hear from him on Friday or since. Very unprofessional and unreliable.

+ -1 moreWe got several quotes before contacting Jim from JTI. He responded same-day. He was very patient with questions, very approachable. His quote was 30%-50% lower than the Arlington-based landscaping companies we called. The job was done in 2 half-days. He was there personally, any decision that needed to be made he ran by us. He had 1-2 guys help him, seemed like a bunch of buddies that love working together (firemen?) - no illegal immigrants here. Only way we could be happier is if he said he did carpentry work also - would love to swing him more business!
Description of Work: In October we had our front walk/wall/deck redone, and it left the front yard in bad shape (expected). JTI processed the grass currently present, added fill, graded, added a blue-stone around and under the decking, removed some roots for medium-sized bushes, and layed about 500sf of quality sod.

+ -1 moreThey are really nice people to work with. They break things down so that we know what to do when. If we are budget conscious they would really help us out. They come every other week. We will be having them do some bigger jobs in the future. They are very communicative. If they are not going to turn up at a certain time or are going to be late they would call and let us know.
Description of Work: We use JTI Landscaping for everything from lawn care, mowing, clean-up of gutters, snow removal and so forth. They are soon going to dig a trench for us around the house and put gravel beneath the rocks. They even undertake tree removal if needed. They do a lot of work.
