JP O'Brien Electric LLP

We can't say enough good things about the work of JP O'Brien electric. A prompt response to our call quickly got their attention. Joe and the crew cleared up several electrical problem areas in our difficult older home. They guided us through identifying problem areas and assuring us about things that didn't need attention. They worked quickly, and made sure each job was completed correctly. In spite of all that was done, they were finished in one day; -with the exception of replacing a part which they took the time to locate and install the next day, saving us the expense of a new exhaust fan. They were fairly priced, cleaned up after the job; -and were pleasant though the whole process. Great to work with!

Joe came over to inspect the area and provide a quote on adding an outdoor outlet. When it seemed that it would require significant work for little payoff and might still pose issues, Joe was extremely transparent, direct and honest laying out the issues and options. While we decided not to move forward with the project, I really appreciated his honesty and willingness to do the right thing rather than taking on a job that wouldn't necessarily deliver the expected results.

After I complained JP contacted me and offered to refund $50. Still, $100 just for conveniently stop on the way home (as he told me over the phone) it’s very expansive compared to about any other company out there.

Very well. JP went the extra mile to find out why my house had a random partial power outage. Because National Grid had checked the outside wiring, we first thought it was a problem with the inside wiring. The first solution did not work. JP returned quickly and found the problem was actually the outside connections. He solved the problem quickly. We also discovered that my circuit breaker box needed to be replaced. His colleagues did this efficiently and thoroughly a few weeks later.

Absolutely would hire these guys again. Arrived a bit early for the eval and went to work pretty quickly to determine the problem. Replaced the offending parts and some additional outlets per my request. Quick, clean, efficient.

Outdoor Light repaired and a new electric plug in the home installed. Ii did not get a bill yet. Work was good.

Joseph responded right away, gave us a quote over the phone and was able to fit us in amazingly the next day due to a cancellation. He and his partner were friendly, professional, arrived on time, held to their quote and finished quickly and cleanly. We are very happy with them and will be using them again in the future.

Awesome. Mr. O'Brien was able to inspect the house for knob and tube (and found plenty that the previous owners said they fixed). He was also really patient while I fought with MassSave for approval and rebates. He was planning on spending multiple days but between three people they finished in one long day, including extremely thick old walls and additional wiring found in a room. I plan to hire him again and would recommend him to anyone.

They came when they said they would, on-time, did several jobs together and well! We were very pleased; called them when we needed the electric service updated at our home. Again we were happy to see them arrive on time, updated our house service from 60 amp to 125 amp in a good workman like manner.

Perfect job. Joe and his assistant performed all work within 8 hours. My main panel was overloaded from new things being installed over the past several years. Interestingly, I had another electrician look at this last year and declined the job because it appeared too complex for him. He is very good and very knowledgeable. I think I would have been better off skipping college and becoming an electrician.

I called JP O'Brien and they had the problem fixed in an evening. Joe was already waiting for me when I arrived at my house at 5 pm, and we spent a couple of hours going through the house, checking things. We started at the breaker panel, where he found some obvious problems (loose wires and way too many wires in a single terminal block location), but fixing those didn't help. We expanded the search and found a few questionable looking connections in the switch boxes on the circuit, which he re-did. Still no luck. Joe was incredibly patient and methodical. We went back to the panel and a closer inspection revealed that the bus bars under the affected breakers were heavily eroded. Joe gave me a temporary fix by installing some double-breakers and re-wiring to avoid the bad bus locations. We will be inviting him back to replace the panel (some of the other bus bar locations showed signs of similar corrosion developing). Very satisfying experience from start to finish.

Work was done when scheduled and very professional work.

I paid my money for the complete home electrical inspection. I provided 3 dates I would be available according to Angie's list website..Unfortunately, I was never contacted, and no one was reachable at number provided.I requested a refund.

Joe and Rob did an excellent job. Not only did they pull heavy wire through our home, but did no damage to our ceilings or home. They also did a great job changing a lot of receptacles from two to four plugs (quads), putting electricity in our shed, connecting our well to electricity, and many other jobs that needed to be done. They were professional, on time, and a pleasure to have. If I ever need any more electrical work done, Joe will be the first one that I will call.

Excellent service. I spoke with Joe O'Brien about 2pm on Wednesday and the next morning at 11am Joe and Steve were at our front door. Punctual & Professional. After assessing the breaker box and the lights and outlets involved, Steve immediately diagnosed the problem. He and Joe then fixed the wiring issue within ten minutes, They were GREAT. We will DEFINATELY use them again, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!

I like him a lot. I will continue to use him. I have used him twice in the last four months. He did the work quickly at a reasonable cost, easily and it was done. He did what he was asked to do and did it quickly and easily with no problems. He has a nice personality and prices were reasonable.

Incredibly well! The work was done promptly, competently, and professionally. Dave is one of the most easygoing, friendly guys you can imagine. He is also reliable. He shows up when he says he will, and it's obvious that he really cares about doing a great job. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Joe was fantastic. I emailed him, and received a response that day. He came out within a week, figured out the problem, and did the work right then and there. He was prompt, polite and professional. Will definitely use again.

I've forgotten the electrician's name but he was great - did outlet work at no charge and could not evaluate the source of flickering issue since that was the first day in weeks that it stopped. He was very professional and thorough, and of course, honest.
