We emailed Joe, looking for a price. He responded promptly and we agreed to have the job done.He arrived promptly and did the job to our sdatisfaction. He answer all our questions, on future requirements, he was courteous and professional. We will use Joe in the future.

He was superb and I would recommend him to anyone.

He arrived at the scheduled time 9:10 am on Saturday November 3, 2012 as scheduled. He introduced himself and I showed him my basement so he could check everything electrical. He took about an hour and was very thorough in inspecting the wiring. He also checked all of the electrical outlets in my house. He left and said he would email me the estimate on the electrical work to be done. Next day I received the estimate for the electrical work to be done and was very happy with the final estimate cost. I answered his email to the affect that I would be hiring him in the Spring as I am retired and on a fixed income and want time to save the money for the work.

I don't know if this is the right place for a comment but I wanted to describe a brief experience with Joe O'Brien. I called the night of Hurricane Sandy because half my power was off and I thought it might be caused by bad fuses or something inside the house. I didn't really hope to get a call back quickly due to the hurricane but Joe called me back in about 15 minutes. He described what he thought was happening and advised me to call NSTAR, said that if they determined it was not an external problem that I should call him back. I called NSTAR and while it took 4 or 5 hours for them to fix the problem I felt better knowing Joe was available should I need him. Thanks to Joe for the quick response.

He showed up a day late and gave me an unreasonably high estimate. He also never called to follow up.

The electrician came out initially to provide an estimate. I scheduled a follow-on appointment for the actual work. The materials used were appropriate for an external line. The entrance points into the house (holes drill for the line in the house and chimmney) were well sealed. The work was done promptly and in a professional manner. I realized after the electrician left that I did not get a receipt (a very slight ding in professionalism, but not a big deal). There were no surprises in the work done or the cost; the company provided an Angie's list coupon, which was readily accepted. I would use this electrician for future work.

He is very nice and pleasant. He answered right away, which I like. He called before he came. I will be using him again for future work.

They came on time and did exactly what they said they would do. The workman were pleasant and everything is still in good condition.

The inspection went well, they were two guys and they did the work quickly and professionally, and got me a report within a couple of days. I was mostly interested in seeing if there was any Knob and Tube wiring left in the house prior to insulating; they were interested in expanding my outlets and seeing what other work they could do, but they weren't pushy about it. They did give me options for managing the ceiling fan light in the living room, which has one switch for both, and I'd like to be able to use as a fan without the light. The only reason I am giving them a n overall B is that we had several miscommunications and lack of communication regarding scheduling, both for this appt and for the follow up work I did choose. As a result, I've yet to have that work done and had planned to postpone my review until all work was complete. I'd like to stay with them because they seemed like good folks, but I may have to see if there's another Big Deal available for getting that work done..

Joe was very professional and methodically tried to identify the problem. He found where some water got into the wiring and fixed it. He cleaned up the connections between each of the outlets and got it working. It stopped working again the next day, but they came back, identified a different problem and fixed it without an additional charge. They were responsive and patiently explained the different potential causes of our problem. We also hired them to complete an audit of electrical systems through our house because some of the wiring and equipment are old. I would recommend Joe & his crew.

He is completely professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend him to anyone. He is someone who has a really high standard of what good work is. He is a delight to have in the house. He is so competent.

It went very well. The guys were very personable and professional and went about their business of checking out the electrical elements of the condo efficiently, all the while answering any and all questions we had along the way in a thorough manner. The information they provided was very helpful to us as new homeowners.

Dave Niemi (partner) was professional in his assessments and actual work and very detailed. He kept me informed of the work as it progressed. The several men who worked on the job over a number of days were neat and efficient and cleaned up every day. They minimized the necessary holes in walls and ceilings as much as possible. The work they did was extensive and complicated but accomplished with a minimum of disruption. I was very pleased with their work.

Joe the electrician fit us into his schedule a few days early. He was friendly and brief to the point. The price was very reasonably priced.

A very positive experience. Clean, quick and professional. They installed an outlet that didn't match the other outlets in the room. They retunred the next day and swapped in new outlets to everything matches up. Very happy with their work.

The initial estimate was done by Mr. O'Brien who arrived exactly at the appointed time and delivered a quick and clear estimate the next day.On the day of installation Joe's partner Mr Niemi and an apprentice did the work. They really paid attention to details and made sure I was completely happy with the job including cleanup. They worked without let up until the job was done.All the people we met were very professional and we felt quite comfortable having them in our home.

Our house was built in 1916 and had extensive knob and tube wiring throughout. It had been updated in spots by previous owners, but this just created a mish mash of wiring and some concern that they may have extended the updated wiring from the knob and tube, which can be dangerous. Joe gave me a very reasonable estimate one year ago, when I did the whole house electrical inspection deal through Angie's List, and I said that I would save my money and have him back this summer. When I called in June, he honored the original estimate and arranged to come out for two weeks. The quality of the electrical work was excellent. As suspected, they found several trouble spots where previous electricians had cut corners and created safety hazards. They fixed all of these and replaced every bit of knob and tube wiring with romex throughout the whole house. This meant that new wire had to be pulled through the walls! And we planned to live here the whole time they were working! But I have to say that everything went as smoothly as possible. They were very good about telling us in advance which rooms would be involved the next day, so we could plan ahead. Also, their clean up at the end of each day was excellent. Although it was disturbing to have work going on for a two week period I have absolutely no complaints about how they handled anything. They were always professional, communicative, and respectful of the fact that we were living here the whole time. They even made friends with our dogs (which was no mean feat with two large German shepherds), but by the time they left the dogs stood at the door every morning waiting to see them. We just passed electrical inspection with the city this morning with flying colors. Thank you Joe and Dave and John for your excellent work!!!

I left a message detailing my problem on their voice mail that morning. Got a call back telling me they could do the job that afternoon. They fixed the problems I had called about and also pointed out another electrical problem that needs to be corrected. I asked for an estimate for that job which came via e-mail the following day. Overall, very satisfied. Will call them again to do electrica lwork in my house.

Had two electrician tell us that we need a new fan, only not to show up to do the job. I decided to join Angie's list and get the name of someone who would show up to do the job. Found JP O'Brien and read the reviews. Put a call in and received a call back on Monday. We set up a time and I requested that he pick up a white five blade w/light ceiling fan. Joe and his associate arrive on time and started to work. Joe, started to check out the switch, which I had been told was OK. He found that that was the problem not the fan, packing up the new fan changing out the switch in less than 15 min. Joe was done and we had a working ceiling fan again. He could have taken advantage of my stupidity but he was a honest gentleman,

My husband and I couldn't have been more satisfied with both the work, the professionalism and the knowledge that Joe had. We told him that we would be giving out his name to anyone we knew that needed an electrician and he was on our list to call for any further work that we would need.

Joe was very responsive and let me know the exact time he's on site. He diagnosed and replaced the faulty smoke detectors after failing the inspection. He also wired for a new detector in the basement. The work was done clean and these guys are friendly and amazing. I'd use them again!
