Holmes Pools

Nice family owned pool business. Hired them to replace our inground pool liner, pump, filter and add a heat pump. They are quite busy so it took a month and a half or so to get on their calendar, but they are worth the wait. They are very easy to work with, the staff is all friendly, and we love how our pool looks.

Holmes does not perform any pool clean services. Opening services are limited to cover removal, installation of ladders, railings and other items required to open the pool and get the system operating. Technicians that installed the filter were knowledgeable and professional.

Holmes Pools was terrific from start to finish. They came out promptly and replaced a gasket. The leak stopped. They left everything clean and neat. They also gave me good advice. I was grateful and will definitely call on them again if needed.

Excellent service! My call was received by a most helpful Amanda. The owner, Wendell Holmes, called that night to get more information. In spite of this being a small repair and my being a new customer, I was fortunate enough to get an appointment the next day. Matt and Tom arrived on time and were kind and professional. They certainly knew what they were doing. They replaced the seals and filter carefully and skillfully. Matt answered all my questions. They were so easy to deal with and I also appreciated that they cleaned up well. Bottom line: the leak was fixed, I was delighted with their service, and highly recommend Holmes Pools.

Holmes Pools was courteous, efficient, and professional. Their price was competitive and they are punctual with their appointments. I will definitely use them to open my pool this Spring.

We've used Holmes Pools for years now and have always had friendly, prompt and professional service. They have fixed liner leaks and pumps for us and are always great.

We called and were told that someone would be out within a couple of weeks to take a look at the pool. That was very reasonable since it was just the time when everyone was opening pools. They came out and told us that we would probably need a new filter and that there could possibly be leaks in the skimmers. Again reasonable since our pool is 35 years old and has the original filter. When the work took place (within a couple of days) the men came out did the necessary work and instead of digging up our yard were able to fix the skimmers with some epoxy. They were professional, courteous took time to explain the new filter and how it works and also made sure that if we had any questions we should be sure to call them. They also told us to keep our old pool safety cover so that we could use it as a template for a new one and save some money. We would recommend them and will use them for all our pool openings, closings, and any repairs.

I called them on Wednesday 8/13/14 and spoke to a woman. She took a message and my phone number and told me the owner would get back to me within the hour. It is now Sunday 8/17/14 and I still have not heard from them. To me, I find this very inconsiderate. Would I use them in the future.......maybe. However if they can't return a simple phone call how well would they do with a difficult task of filling in a pool? I am looking around for others.

Let me start by saying they do a great job of opening pools very neat and tidy that's why I thought I found a gem. NOT SO. I had a major disaster over the winter, my pool cover fell in not to mention I lost most of the water in my 20 x 40 pool. I called pretty early in the season to see if this was something they could deal with. They assured me they could handle this, "no problem" Wendell was very eager to schedule a pool opening even though I told him this pool could not be open like this. In addition to the pool leaking water thru a fixture that they were supposed to have fixed last season and didn't. I had to suggest they come out and assess the situation before even attempting to open it, he said he would do that when in the area. Never came. Now, I get the call it's time to open. How the h*** can you fill a pool that is leaking somewhere?????? I have not been in the pool business for 40 years but HELLO????? I had to call again and nicely suggest someone come. Low and behold leaking from the light fixture. Now it is going to cost me 1,500.00 to replace the fixture because they mark their parts up 100% not the standard 20-25%. So because I work in purchasing at a very large Co. I told them I would get the parts and they could do the labor..........didn't like that idea so that is why when I called back for help figuring out how to deal with the mess in the pool the very rude uninformed lady that answers the phone said they can't do this or that. Now for the kicker, the job that they wanted to do to replace my light fixture for $1,500.00 I just had done for $125.00 and the only part required was the fixture itself not the laundry list of parts and not to mention they wanted to jack hammer my deck and job would take all day. I just had this same job completed in 1 hr. Also, you have to call every time and wait until Wendell gets in so that is like 8 or 9 at night. How about step into the 21st century email, website, voicemail. You would do yourself a favor and get that nasty woman off the phone. Let me also mention I am super easy going but that rudeness of that woman put me over the top. I was only looking for a little help with my pool from a pool Co. Is that too much to ask??????

I contacted them about a pool opening and unfortunately for me, they only service below ground pools. The woman that answered the phone was very nice and recommended another company for me.

They were super quick, super efficient, and super competent. The pool was drained in 3hrs, liner was up by lunchtime and new concrete spread. They installed the new liner, set it, and cleaned everything.

We had not owned a pool in many years and never an in ground pool so I decided to have it closed professionally. I located several companies on Angie's List and Holmes had good reviews and the date that worked best for our needs to close the pool. In New England winter can show up any time after September 1 so time was of the essence. I set up the appointment 3 weeks ago. I received a call last night with a more definite time frame of between 2 and 4 pm. They were here at exactly 2 pm. Took a little over an hour to close the pool service the filter for winter and explain to me what was done and the minor issues noticed that may need to be double checked come spring. I knew the base price and the possibility of higher rates from my call. They added all needed chemicals and fixed a few minor issues on the filter to ensure the winter wouldn't damage it. I will use them in the spring to come and open the pool and at that time teach us how to open it and maintain it going forward. I am very happy with the service and the knowledge shared with me and I look forward to using them to close my pool each year in the future.

Holmes Pools comes every year to close our in-ground pool for us. Sometimes they also open the pool for us, replace parts for the pump, and we've ordered a super-duty cover and they've installed it. Service is always great, and they're very patient with new owners of pools and those of us who usually have their husbands work on the pool.

we were happy to find a someone to come and do the work. our regular pool company is not a leak specialist and person they recommended said they did not service our town. took a while to find specialist who would come to our town- even though we are pretty centrally located. overall happy with the service. they found a couple of leaks and finally found the leak that was draining the pool. fixed all leaks and pool is now holding water. overall good experience

They were excellent, very responsive. The woman that answers the phone and makes the appointments was so patient and always returned my calls and made sure I knew when they could get to our home and start working on our pool. The guys that came to open and fix the pool were always there when they said they would be, they explained everything they were going to do and even gave us some helpful advice for the future upkeep of our pool. I would use Holmes Pools again and would definitely recommend them to others. Thank you!

These guys are great. A true family business, their pricing is fair and their professionalism is top notch. All work performed when and how much agreed upon. I even got a free tutorial when I first bought the house as this is my first pool. I will use Holmes pools for all my pool needs and recommend them to everyone.

The guys at Holmes Pools came out to a house we were interested in buying, evaluated the pool for us and let us know what repairs would be needed. Once we purchased the house they came and did the repairs, opened the pool and step by step took my husband and I through everything they did. Matt fixed the liner, hooked up the pump, put in and balanced the necessary chemicals, cleaned the filter, replaced used filter parts, a valve and took out the diving board which was falling apart. They said what they were doing and explained options and why it was necessary or not necessary. A few days later they came back and showed us how to test the chemicals and take care of all the equipment (essentially pool 101 for someone who has never owned a pool). They were friendly and professional, I can't recommend them enough!

I We used them last spring. They put a pool in for us. We had a fence they helped take down. They spread the dirt they took out around. They went out of their way. They were very receptive and did things that were not part of the contract. They were excellent.

I contacted Holmes Pool Service on Monday, September 10 to schedule a pool closing. I spoke with Diane who took my information and promised that I would be contacted for scheduling that night or the next day. I waited two days and didn't hear back so I left another message with my contact information. Still.....no reply. If they're too booked to fit me in -- fine. Just let me know. I've now lost several days during which I could have gotten on someone else's schedule. Poor responsiveness....

They fixed numerous leaking joints in the filter set up and took apart the entire filter to look for leaks. Acid washed it and put it back together and vacuumed the pool. They changed broken and leaky valves.

They are excellent. I would very highly recommend them. They were prompt, courteous, and friendly. They got the job done in no time and came when they said they would.

From the beginning when I first contacted them for an estimate, they were responsive , answered all my questions, followed up etc. Then when I decided to go with them, within a week I got a call that the unit was in and that they could come by and install it a few days. The installation went great, they hooked up the heater and re-plumed all the other connections to my pump and filter. I have a whole new set up, at no extra cost. They recommended a great electrician, who again was fair and responsive. The heater will be connected the same week. I wanted a solar cover and purchased one from them, but the owner recommended I look on line for a roller, since it would be cheaper that way instead of purchasing from him. I can't be happier with the service, responsiveness and attention Holmes pool gave me during this process.

They did an excellent job and exactly as what I wanted. They were reasonably priced and did a great job. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

When we first scheduled them to come I had down that it was to be on a Wednesday. When they did not show, and I finally got through on the phone to someone, they saw they had Thursday down for the apointment. Since that date would not work, they rescheduled me to be the first appointment on Saturday. The crew showed up on time and fairly quickly closed the pool. They did not cover the pump with a tarp, as I was used to from the other company, so I ended up covering it myself. Regarding the price. I went with this company because they were the cheapest. Unfortunately I should have asked for a little more info on the quote. When they quoted $265 without chemicals I figured I would either have the chemicals they needed or that they would cost about $20. (What I had been previously charged with my old pool company after using product I already had.) I don't know if this year I just ran out of everything or what, but the chemicals came to $80. Much more than I thought they would be. In hindsite I now know I should have asked for an estimate on the chemicals, but also they should be giving a range of pricing so that the buyer is aware of what the total amount might be. There was another quote that I received that was $30 more, but it included all the chemicals. I might have gone with them if I had known more at the time.
