He did most of the work himself and clearly loves his work. Because we had a leaking boiler that could have flooded our basement, he fit us in in front of others who weren't in jeopardy. He thought to quote us this combination solution along with other more traditional, more expensive solutions. The work was performed precisely to the schedule he offered, neatly, cheerfully, and extremely professionally. Plumbers are expensive and its hard to have to find the amount of money needed to solve this problem, i.e. it's a stressful process to go through. But Fernando's personable and professional demeanor made it matter-of-fact and, overall, a pleasant experience.

He stopped by on a Saturday morning to look at the job and provided an estimate by email a couple days later. He became available the following week and completed the job in two days. I would call him again for any plumbing issue or upgrade in the future.

Fernando had one assistant for part of the job and finished it himself. The work and materials were good quality and met all my expectations. He answered all my questions and was personable and friendly. The work was completed in a timely way and the house was left clean and tidy.

Finally, a plumber who is competent AND honest. Instead of trying to sell me something I didn't need, he did something inexpensive and simple that solved the problem. It is SO difficult to find honest, competent plumbers. This guy has been to my place twice (replaced a toilet a few weeks ago). I found him on Angie's list. He's fantastic.

Fernando is very professional. Within 24 hours of submitting a request via Angie's list I received a call back for on site appraisal. Fernando was on time. After reviewing the proposed work Fernando confirmed the date and time he could start. Fernando arrived on time and completed the work in the estimated time he said it would take. Fernando also took care to protect my floors with a drop cloth and cleaned up after he was done. Fernando was professional, timely and communicated effectively. The work is high quality.

They were pretty good. The plumber was very professional and accommodating. He was willing to pick the keys and go into the house. He then brought the keys to my house which is like 10 miles away.

Fernando contacted me by email, provided an estimate, and was able to complete the work within one week. He made recommendations where necessary, emphasizing where I could save money, how I should maintain the new fixtures, etc. He and his assistant were extremely professional. I could not have asked for a better experience.

I telephoned and emailed Gonzales plumbing, saying that I had found them via Angie's list, and that I was seeking an estimate for connecting fixtures in new master bath. I provided an extensive description of the work required. Within a few hours, Fernando Gonzalez responded via email, estimating 8-10 hrs work at a labor rate of 100.00 per hr plus stock & a 25.00 fuel service charge, and offering to begin the work about a week later. He had some questions and I replied, including photos of the fixtures to be connected. Fernando's communications were prompt and professional, and his price and schedule were competitive. I hired a different plumber who is located much closer, and who had come to see the job site in person.

I e-mailed Fernando to get an estimate to replace our 14-year-old water heater while it was still functional. Fernando dropped by to perform an estimate and I explained that I was thinking of replacing the unit with a high-efficiency tank-based unit. He persuaded me that a tankless unit would be a better choice and that the larger gas line needed to run it was not cost-prohibitive. After scheduling an installation appointment, Fernando arrived promptly in the morning with his assistants and completed work and cleaned up by late afternoon. They got the water heater working and made sure my 50-year-old furnace restarted after restoring gas service via the larger gas line. Fernando had pulled a permit and scheduled an inspection, which is encouraging to see with any contractor. The finished installation is very neat and meticulous, and the gas inspector commented as such. The inspector did point out that tankless water heater use in the U.S. is still relatively new and not well covered by Massachusetts plumbing code expectations. Essentially, the code still expects hot water heaters to provide full water pressure to all fixtures in the house (even though a tank may quickly turn cold if you were to do so). Tankless units have a limited flow rate, but they can provide it at proper temperature forever, and the inspector would prefer to have that acceptance by the client in writing prior to tankless unit installs, so the town doesn't end up in the middle of any client/contractor disputes about plumbing devices lacking good coverage in the code. All-in-all, we're very pleased with Fernando's work. It was just what I expect when hiring a professional. We now have a 1.5 bathroom house with great hot water performance. We can take back-to-back showers without waiting for the hot heater to catch up, and running the shower at the same time as the washing machine or dishwasher works fine in the dead of winter when the incoming water temperature is lowest.

They were able to fit me in within a day. They showed up on time and were completely professional about the repair. We have installed Grohe faucets (years ago) and they are now a bit antiquated and it is not particularly easy to get parts. They took pictures of everything and brought the mixing valve to Watertown to insure that they returned with the right part. Overall, a professional job at a fair price.

A stop c*** in our garage blew and flooded our garage storage and basement. Mr. Gonzalez and his excellent journeyman changed his schedule to fit us in and was, of course, right on time and he did a stellar job. We could not be happier. I continue to recommend them without reservation.

My experience with Gonzalez Plumbing, Heating & Gas Fitting was exceptional. I initiated contact via the Angie's List e-mail link and received a phone call on the next day from Fernando. He drove all the way out to my place in Rowley, on a Saturday, to check out my system and also spent the time with me to answer some questions that I had on other , non-related plumbing work. He arrived on time and was extremely polite, interested and professional, so I agreed to hire him to perform the water heater replacement. On the scheduled day of the installation, he and a helper arrived on time , completed the work efficiently and cleaned everything up completely. Fernando also helped direct me to the website where I found a substantial rebate offer. I could not be more satisfied and will definately use his services again...highly recommended!

Fernando was very punctual, very professional, and knew his business. He routed the gas line meticulously, and out of the way, exactly as I requested, and was sure that everything was up to code, and fully inspected. His final price was slightly (approx. $100) over his quote due to material costs, however, he called the day before, before any work had been done, to get approval for this before starting the job.

Fernando was excellent. He arrived at our home as scheduled, quickly assessed the time and materials required, and completed the job as expected. The difficulty with this specific job was that the new vanity that we purchased had drawers which inhibited the drain pipe where it exited the wall. He was able to resolve this issue by moving the drain pipe into the wall and then back out where the p-trap was fitted and then fastened to the new sink. If you're looking for a plumber who is responsive, polite, and competent, then Fernando is your man....highly recommended.

He came twice to do all of the work. Fernando is very bright and enjoys what he does and that is evident. He's the kind of person that will be able to teach you how things work in your home. He gave me feedback about doing things cost-effectively, which I really appreciated. I took his advice on that. He had to move pipes and pre-installed cabinetry to get to the pipes and he did so in a neat fashion. He used good quality material. The only advice I'd give him is to sweep up afterwards. However, he's very thoughtful and considerate and I'm very satisfied with his service. I would certainly use him again and I plan to use him again. Update 8/30: I thought he used great quality parts before my basement flooded last night. I had brown dirty water that I had to mop up 3 times. There was water pouring down off a few pipes on the sink he worked on and the floor was flooded. As well, my kitchen counter was flooded and inside the kitchen shelves. I tried to reach him, but I couldn't find his phone number. So I tried to call a 24 hour emergency plumber and finally got ahold of one at 1:00 in the morning. He told me how to shut off the water valve and I ended up staying the night at a friends house. This morning the emergency plumber came, found the source of the leak (it was the T-Pipe which Fernando installed). Typically those are done in copper, but Fernando used a pipe with PVC in it and it was clearly not adequate. It was very clear the leak was coming from that pipe, and I would like to note I've never been inside that drawer since I recently moved into my new house. In the process of trying to find the source of the leak, I had go back in to the places he worked and the dust and dirt were much worse that I thought. There was plaster in shower and brown dirty stains everywhere.

Fernando Gonzalez came on time to look at the problem the day after I called. He discussed it in detail with me, including a wide variety of repair options, explaining everything that he was considering doing. We looked at the whole system to find other potential failure spots and agreed on what additional work was needed. The actual repair work took two days, scheduled around some emergency calls, which was fine with me--it's July, and heating isn't exactly urgent. The work was neatly and professionally done, and the mess cleaned up well. I got estimates from two other companies, and chose Gonzalez because of his detailed knowledge, clear explanations, and excellent price. I paid time and materials based on a rough (non-binding) estimate, and I was happy I trusted him to work on that basis. He was helpful working with me to minimize the total cost of the job by concentrating on the components that most needed repair. He was good at keeping me informed about scheduling.

I have been using Fernando as my plumber for a few years now, and he has always done a fantastic job. But last year he really proved his worth! I had the steam boiler in my house go on CHRISTMAS EVE! If you recall, this past Christmas was on a weekend. I was dreading trying to find someone who was available. Lucky for me, I called Fernando. He instructed me on what I needed to do to protect the pipes from freezing, and started the ball rolling to get my heat back on. He listened to what I wanted to do and went over the options with me. I decided to update the system from steam to baseboard forced hot water, he came out on Sunday, and got right to work. Tuesday afternoon my house was nice and warm, with a beautiful new modern heating system. All the old steam pipes in the basement were gone, the baseboard heat registers looked like they'd always been there, and there was no mess of any kind for me to clean up. I am beyond impressed with Fernando's skill, professionalism, and willingness to step up and help when his serves are needed most. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Our water heater died on a Sunday. We checked the list and called Fernando based on his high rating. We didn't expect to hear from him until the following day but he called us back within 5 minutes and gave us an estimate. Within the hour we had an appt to get a new water heater. He arrived on time, performed the work quickly, tested everything, and explained what I should expect going forward. He even took a look at a bathroom that I want to redo (don't tell me husband) and gave me a loose estimate for that.

Fernando was awesome. I called him for a quote on a washer/dryer hookup. We scheduled a date and he called me a few times prior when he was in the area with extra time to see if I was available for the quote, which was signifigantly less than any of the other contractors I'd called . I was impressed by that. He also came over earlier on the install day than we had planned, which was fantastic. Fernando worked fast and efficiently and even stacked the washer and dryer for me. I would hire him again without a second thought and would be happy to recommend him to anyone looking for a plumber.

I have a very old house with old plumbing and was having poor drainage in my bathroom. Fernando is very careful, so he was able to remove the old iron pipe and connect new PVC without disturbing the main stack. He had to run quite a bit of PVC in new routes to get the drainage and venting right, and it came out great. Fernando does high quality work, and genuinely enjoys what he does. This is the second time I've had him do work in my house - the first time he plumbed a new bathroom, re-plumbed a kitchen, and added laundry in the basement. When I was gathering estimates from the top-rated Angie's List plumbers, he was the only guy who answered the phone right away. He easily had the lowest estimate, and had the best plan and ideas. I can always get a hold of him by phone or by email without delay. He's very professional and reliable, and shows up on time. I didn't have a problem trusting him to work in my house when I was not at home. I highly recommend him.
