Walter and his crew took down all of the necessary tress (including a dead crab apple in the front yard). They also removed all of the bitter sweet that had become totally entangled in the chain link fence. This is the third time Walter has done work for me. I highly recommend him. Walter was very responsive, scheduled and performed work within days my first call and for a reasonable price. Walter and his crew did a great job and cleaned up after the job.

However, once we received the estimate and were ready to move forward, Walter stopped returning my calls. He did answer the phone one time and said he was "on the road" and would call me later to schedule the job but he never called. What a complete wast of my time, very unprofessional and no to mention now I am at square one all over again. If he didn't want the job all he had to do was say that and recommend someone who could take it on. That would be profession service; not getting our hopes up to completely let us down.

Walter and his team were on-time, fair and polite. There were no surprises. They were in and out in a flash and left my property cleaner than it was before he arrived. It's always a pleasure to work with someone who enjoys his job and likes working with people. Walter was fantastic to work with.

I couldn't be more pleased. I received a detailed quote for the work. The work was scheduled promptly; everything was done as promised; my roof is clear; and the trees are thriving.

Several large pine tree limbs and Maple tree limbs fell during a wind storm. They landed on the chain link fence surrounding the swimming pool. I called Walter Collings on 3/2/16, and he responded the SAME DAY with an estimate for the work. He said he would be there the next morning to do the job. He arrived promptly the following morning, and he and his crew immediately started working at cutting and removing the limbs. He also cut down a dead maple tree in another area of the yard. In addition to all of this, he cut some long branches from a Large maple tree, which were hanging too close to the house, thus giving squirrels a chance to jump over onto the house. He and his crew left the yard looking free of all yard debris. I have used Collings Tree service in the past and was totally pleased with their work. So I knew what to expect this time, but still am amazed by Walter?s work ethic!!

Walter and his crew arrived as promised. In order to prevent the tree from falling completely during the work, Walter had to climb an adjacent tree and rope-rig the damaged tree. Given the lack of access for a boom truck, his method was likely the only feasible solution. He safely removed the tree, and cleaned the area completely.

Came to advise and give an estimate. Walter and crew arrived on the agreed time, went right to work. Found them to be courteous and professional. We are thrilled with the price and work they did. We will hire Walter again.

Walter is a very knowledgeable expert and a great, honest and hard working professional who cares about the environment. I would hire him again and recommend him to anyone.

We called Walt for a quote. It took 2-3 days for him to return the call. We made an appointment over the phone and he was on time when he gave the quote. The quote was very detail. It listed clearly the job description and itemized every cost. On the day of service, Walt was there at 7:30am and setting up the equipment. He waited until 8:00am to start the work. I have a big weeping cherry tree that was overgrown. Walt looked at the tree, then climbed up the ladder and trimmed it. Came down and looked at it in different angles and climbed up to trim again. Up and down the ladder many times. He was an artist trimming the tree. It took him 3 hours to prune it. I was happy with the result. After cutting the tree and shrubs, they swept the lawn and picked up fallen branches. It was a pleasure to work with Walt and his crew. I would definitely recommend him to my neighbors and friends.

The Good: Requested a quote in the evening, the next morning it was in an envelope on my door. After receiving the quote, I left three messages requesting to schedule the service over the course of a week. Thought I wasn't going to hear back from them when the called the following week. The Great: They showed up early the day the tree was removed. The tree was removed quickly, stump was cut at the ground with the sides rounded off and painted black. Couldn't even tell a tree was there just a few hours earlier. They covered the stump with a pot of mums to match the surrounding garden. Took down some nearby dead bushes and trees while they were there. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Mr Collings and his crew of two other men arrived at the promised time and began their work of cutting and tree removal from my house and property. This was made more difficult because they were working on a slope, the weather was warm and humid and half way through it started to rain fairly heavy. Mr Collings and his crew in stayed in their vehicles for a short period waiting for the rain to stop before finishing the work. Safety was a priority at all times. The work was completed sooner than I expected and my property was left clean and neat. Mr Collings made a difficult situation seem not so terrible by exceeding my expectations in a timely manner at a reasonable price and by just being a downright decent guy! I will call Collings Company with any future needs and recommend his Company to my friends.

This is the third time I've used Walter Collings for tree removal, and I couldn't be happier Twice I've had very large pine trees crack and partially collapse, getting caught against another tree and being precariously help above a structure that I would rather not have destroyed. Another was a tree that split during a wind storm and was starting to die. Every time that I've called, I've gotten a prompt response within 1-2 business days. I made the mistake of calling Collins Tree Service (without the G - Collin**G**s) and didn't receive a call back for a week. Walter has always come out within a day or two and provided a detailed written quote (not estimate, but a price he holds to) that clearly outlines what he will/won't do. The entire crew is always highly courteous and professional. And they do a VERY thorough job of cleanup, racking all debris and materials. Again, this is the third time I've used Collings Company, and while I hope I have no more tree issues, if I do I will be sure to call him.

I received a quote from Walter in the spring of 2014. I procrastinated and didn't have the work done in 2014. I contacted him again in August 2015 and he came by again to look at the work. He was able to honor the same quote from last year. He came to do the work 1 week later. I am so impressed. They did a fantastic job and the yard was left very clean. They also took away some other branches that were in piles in my lawn. 3 men were here for almost 4 hours and they worked very h****** a really hot day! I would highly recommend them and I would use them again. I liked that they didn't bring large equipment on my property. They climb the trees and lower the branches very nicely!

Mr Collings was very professional. He came to my house for an estimate on time, described the job with great deal of detail, offered good suggestions and provided a very reasonable quote. He called the day before the project and showed up with his team promptly as promised. Mr Collings and his team did an exceptional job. I will recommend them highly to anyone.

Walter and his crew removed a dead maple tree from our property. They also ground the stump and cleared any debris. Walter was very responsive- quick to return calls and once we decided on his company, he was there the next day to begin the work. We couldn't have asked for an easier experience. Mr. Collings was friendly and highly professional from start to finish. He and his crew were prompt, quick and efficient. They took down the tree, cut up the downed tree and stacked it very neatly in the area we had asked. They cleaned up the site and if it weren't for the missing trees, we would hardly have know they were there. We are definitely using Collings Tree again and will for all our tree work.

We had an excellent experience with Collings and would hire them again. I reached out to Walter after finding him on Angie's list. He scheduled a time to come out and give me an estimate. He showed up on time and wrote a detailed estimate on the spot. After bringing out a second service I decided to go with him based on his clear expertise in the field - not just how to take down and prune trees but the species of trees and nuanced particulars, as well as competitive pricing. On the day of, the team arrived right on time (7 am) and began work right on time (8 am) and had and cleaned everything up by 1 pm. All trees and debris was chipped and taken with them when they left. They cleared the yard of outdoor furniture and some misc. toys before they began and put everything back in its place when they finished.

I had procrastinated taking care of the outside of my house to the point where the overgrowth became pretty unmanageable. It looked like the scary kind of place that kids would dare each other to go up to. Walter worked miracles! Since he's been there, I've seen people drive by and do double-takes because they can't believe it's the same property. This is the second or third time I've called Walter. This is a guy that does more than an honest day's work -- he always goes above and beyond, and, quite frankly, I think he should charge more.

Perfect from start to finish. During windy storm a large tree from my property fell into my neighbors yard. Within a few days he responded quoted and cleaned it up barely looked like anything had even happened.

This is the 3rd time this year I've contacted Angies List contractors ( 1 for an electrical estimate, 2 for landscape/tree service). The first cancelled on me at the last minute for an estimate and couldn't squeeze me in again; and the 2nd two-- I NEVER heard back from- it's incredible! All we're highly rated and I believe they are great- but obviously can't accomodate the surge in business or have no interest in taking on more. It's so dissapointing to take time from work, have weeks go by -and get absolutely nothing accomplished! Please contractors- if you can't or don't want the business- at least call and say so. A high rating is starting not to mean much.

I called for an estimate in early April for three trees I needed work done on. I specifically called this tree service as it is advertised for pruning of mature trees as well as ornamental's. I left my contact info and I received a call that night from Walter. I explained what I needed done and he said he would be out that weekend to look at my job and provide me with an estimate and that he would call first. I didn't receive any call and Walter never showed to give me the estimate. I called his number again at the beginning of the week and left a message that we had talked and he was supposed to come and give me an estimate over the weekend and to please call me back. I never received any call back from him. I purposely did not call another contractor because I wanted to get an estimate from Collings Co. first. I think it's very unprofessional to tell a potential customer that you will be out to give an estimate and never show for the appointed day given nor call to tell the person you will not be able to make it and reschedule. On top of that my second call that I left was not even returned. I am now stuck with a tree that needed to be pruned in early spring when I called and has since lost a large branch due to a wind storm which would have been removed in early april at the time of pruning. Very poor way to run a business.

I called Mr. Collings who came to view the property on 4/1/14. He was both professional and personable. I asked all my questions and concerns and he addressed what he felt needed to be done. He did not embellish the work, as he well could have. He wrote up a written agreement (not an estimate) for what he would do and the cost. He agreed to come out on the 7th. Mr. Collings promptly arrived at 7:30 and worked virtually non-stop until 2:30. He worked alone, was thorough and cleaned up all the debris. He answered all my questions and gave very useful information. I appreciated all that he did and would definitely have him back in the future. I am thrilled to have finally found a tree man whom I can trust!
