Description of Work: Took down a maple tree, ground 3 stumps, graded the 3 stump areas with soil & seeded. The total cost also included a 4 hour police detail which was required due to my location. Walter Collings did an excellent job, I would certainly hire him again. He is honest, knowledgeable and very meticulous. He does what he says he is going to do. I obtained 5 quotes and he was the only person who mentioned that I would need a police detail.

Description of Work: Walter was fantastic! I wish I would have known about him before hiring someone else to cut down 11 pines. I reached out to him for stump grinding, since the company that did the tree cutting was unable to provide this service. A great job. Made sure he knew where the utilities were before touching anything. We even postponed once to confirm location of sprinkler lines. Utmost care for safety precautions. |Collings also lifted all roots and cleared years of mulch for the entire area. Very clean and tidy. |Will be calling him back to do additional work in the future. |

Description of Work: I had 4 pine trees approximately 15 feet high with the largest diameter of the biggest tree being 7 inches a short distance from and behind my inground pool and wanted them removed. The prior owners of the house had planted them and they were growing beyond the area intened. Also, the pine needles were dropping in the pool and causing a mess that need to be cleaned almost daily so the needles would not be blown into the pool or on the decking during a slight breeze. I also wanted the stumps ground below grade level so I could extend the decking or install a small patio on one side. I called and left a message on a Saturday morning, not expecting a return call until Monday. I received a callback in 4 hours. Mr. Collings came to my house within the hour. We agreed to a price and date to take the trees out and he would return a week after the trees were removed to grind the stumps- 8 inches below grade. He and company returned as promised each time. The whole job was done professionally. I was very concerned about the grinding of the stumps as the pool is about 5 feet away from the trees and all i thought about was wood chips going in the pool and seizing the pool pump as well as clogging the filter with needles and pine sap. We did discuss this concern when he came to quote the job. When he returned to grind the stumps the next week, as promised, they placed a 2 foot fence around the grinding machine so the flying wood chips were directed away from the pool. How cool was that! One of his guys grabbed the pool net and cleaned what small amount of debris that could not be helped by the fence and any floating leaves etc. atop of the water not caused by the grinding. I was impressed to say the least. Each time they came they cleaned up the yard and job site. I am extremely pleased with the professionalism and the quality of work. I do think he was slightly expensive for this job. However, based on the quality, clean up and promise of grinding the tree stumps way below the grade level, it was worth it. I would recommend this company.

Description of Work: Called and left a message and requested a call back to schedule a visit to discuss tree removal work.Received a call back on 9/6 and a home visit was scheduled for 9/8 Sat. @ 2pm. We waited for him to show up or call and he did neither. Every one's time is of value and if you can't make a scheduled appointment have the decency to call.Will not use this company.

Description of Work: Partly as a result of Irene, there was a substantial deposit of downed branches, some of them very large, at the rear of our property (abutting the neighbors' new house) and in the wood lot beside our house. Collings came over at once after the storm, to remove any branches on the neighbors' property and then returned to do a thorough cleanup. We are very pleased with his work. (He also put away the accumulating newspapers in the drive that I had forgotten to cancel.)

Description of Work: Walter came to give a price on removing a tree from a city lot. Seemed knowledgable, but was way more expensive than other estimates. I had called 3 times without response.

Description of Work: Had some branches leaning over power line. Company asked right question when called if its an emergency. Called back right away and came over and solved immediate problem. Came back promptly to recover the branches after the storm and collected the branches and disposed of properly.
