We hired Rattigan and Sons to enclose our porch with speciality screening. As part of the project they needed to add footings as well. They did all the pre-work needed for the screening company to create and install the panels. Everything is wonderful. Jody and her crew were great and came in, did the work with no issues. As an aside we also had them come in and do some tree trimming that needed to be done in our yard.

The company, Rattingan & Sons Inc were very professional and they did very good work. They arrived early every day, they worked the whole day, and were able to get us back into our home in 5 working days. My husband and I are in our 60's and they even helped put furniture back into my husband's office. I would highly recommend them for anyone who needs repairs in their home and will be recommend them to anyone I know. I would use them again if I needed work done.

I highly recommend Rattigan & Sons contractors for your construction needs. A big tree blew over and smashed down on my house, demolishing the roof, beam, and rafters. I called around for quotes and Rattigan's quote was detailed, thorough, and professional---and reasonable. I decided to have them reroof the entire house and remodel the smashed-up room into sunporch with a skylight. Sean is a great guy and super easy to deal with. He listened to my concerns explained details, worked with me every step, just wanted to make the customer happy, and in this case they did. The entire crew was polite, efficient and friendly. The workmanship excellent. I'm in my new sunporch as I write, rocking in my rocking chair, sipping coffee, and quite satisfied. So at least get a quote from Rattigans, meet Sean, and take it from there. You will not be dissatisfied.

Wonderful! The whole Rattigan team was amazing! When our siding order came in, Sean took a video and sent it to us so we could see the color along with all the rest of the materials needed to side our home. His enthusiasm was evident. It was infectious and helped us solidify our decision and color choice. We knew right then that we had chosen the right contractor to remove the 63-year-old aluminum siding and replace it with a beautiful vinyl. Sean, Mashi (might have spelled his name wrong..sorry), Dennis, Sean (yup there are two of them!), and Chris worked diligently and respectfully every single day. They were at our home early each day and worked straight through late afternoon. They were all professional and personable. In fact, we've already hired Rattigan & Sons for another home improvement project! We HIGHLY recommend them for your home improvement needs. A++

The chicken run was oddly shaped and they had to work very creatively to make it work. I am 150% happy with the result.

I have 999 characters for this review which isn’t nearly enough so see attached pictures for more explanations. We hired them to gut and remodel our kitchen/dining area and full bath. The full bath remodel was a complete joke. The shower pan wasn’t leveled which caused water to pool. They fixed that but their “plumber” failed to connect the shower drain which caused our downstairs bathroom to flood 2 months later. They fixed it but it should have never happened. We have seams popping up everywhere in our flooring and they said it was because I “didn’t want subfloor”. They never even quoted me for subfloor! One of their guys “fell asleep” standing up and fell onto a saw! Luckily the saw was covered. Their “electrician” is a liar and a thief and still works for them - see picture for explanation. Would never work with them even if it were free. Their amazing foreman quit shortly after.

The project went very smoothly from beginning to end—Meeting the team who performed the work, to coming up with a design for the kitchen with a specialist, picking out cabinets, island, hardware, countertops and backsplash. I watched the team work uniformly day in and day out, because not only did I have new cabinets installed, but electrical and plumbing done as well(recessed lighting, pendant lights, all new appliances, and a farmhouse sink). Also, they are accommodating if changes need to be done. They believe the customer is number one! I would highly recommend them for any type of remodel— I’m going to use them for a future project. FYI— there price is very fair and reasonable

I found Rattigan and Sons when I did a search on Angi for somebody to tear down the unattractive acoustic tile ceilings in the living room and dining room of my old house, and replace them with beautiful tin ceilings. Unlike so many other contractors that I had tried to reach, Jody, the owner of Rattigan and Sons, responded to my call promptly (which was standout service right there, since so many people I tried never called back) and she had her carpenter Brandon in my home doing an estimate within a week. From the scheduling to the planning and pricing and everything else that goes along with any home improvement project, Jody was professional, thorough, responsive, transparent, listened to my concerns and preferences and made it clear all along that her first priority is for the customer to be happy. And when I met her highly skilled carpenters Brandon and Kermit who came to do the work, I was so impressed - not only their experience and knowledge, but also with their communication and customer service skills which put me totally at ease and gave me complete confidence that they were the right people for the job. They explained everything they were doing, kept me informed as they went along and asked for my feedback, and if they identified a problem along the way they always had a solution to offer. However their abilities to really listen, empathize with my concerns as the homeowner , and make me feel that they cared about my home as much as I do and wanted me to be completely happy, were truly exceptional and can be very hard to find. And I am happy – my ceilings are now so beautiful! Jody, Brandon and Kermit were even willing to make adjustments when some unexpected scheduling changes occurred so that they actually finished the job ahead of schedule, and worked incredibly hard to do so. They clearly enjoy their work and take great pride in producing high quality results. By the time they left my home, they felt like family. I really cannot say enough good things about my experience with Rattigan and Sons and I will definitely be calling them again for future projects. You should too!

We were unhappy with few things and they came out promptly, they're very apologetic and everything was fine now. I've been trying for years to get calls and when I called Angi they responded right away after a few days they came out and the guy did the work. I am happy with the result at the end.

I had them install a bathroom a few months ago and it went well and it looks great. Easy to work with so I called them again for some foundation work and a replacement basement window. Professional, courteous and all around a pleasure to work with again. They got the job done efficiently with a real attention to detail. I recommend their services and would definitely reach out again.

I am very happy with the final result of my home remodel which included completing some cosmetic work in my bathroom that had been started by my husband but never finished, new Pergo floors in my hall and living room, painting in several rooms, gate installation on my front porch, new sliding glass door, new furnace and central air, and my personal favorite, a completely new kitchen. Jody, Sean and several of their employees and subcontractors worked in my home for the better part of a year. In a project of this scope, obviously there were a few issues that arose along the way but all were resolved to my complete satisfaction. When there was an occasional disagreement on an issue, Sean always ended the discussion with “don’t worry about it, I will take care of it. I want you to be happy”, a sign of a contractor willing to work with his customers to come to a fair resolution to any disagreement which to me as a consumer is everything you need to know when you hire someone to work in your home. Sean and Jody have become like family to me and I would recommend them, and I would use them again myself for any home improvement services needed.

Jody was responsive to my many questions about the work that the crew was doing at my house. What started out as a simple remodel of an addition became a larger job due to rot in the original poor framing. Justin K., who first led the crew, was very helpful in walking me through the steps of the process as things changed and this played out as I was told it would. The crew was hard-working, conscientious, professional and pleasant.

Home Improvement specialists were amazing! Jody was responsive, helpful, accommodating and very knowledgeable in planning my repairs. She was clear when communicating with me about all project needs, cost and timing and gave me a very reasonable estimate and timeline for the job. I got a second opinion from another contractor who had the same method of repair but at a higher cost and longer timeframe. I’m so glad I closer to go with this company! Shawn and his crew were committed, on time each day, skilled, knowledgeable, detail oriented, neat and organized. They found additional unexpected challenges as they worked and creatively tackled them in a way that did not increase my overall estimate- in fact we finished early and right on budget! Home Improvement Specialists made me feel like my house was in the right professional’s hands and we’re so lovely to work with. I already have a list of projects to hire them again for!

They were supposed to be here today at 11. They did not tell me that they were not getting along and for two weeks they were saying that they would come at my home. They texted me today at 9:30 saying that they cant come and do the job. I would not recommend this people to nobody. It was not a good business. It was not fair to me or for my husband. They were not reliable. They should be honest to me upfront so that I would not be looking for someone else on a rush to do the job. I don't them to Angi and Home Advisor.

Sean and his team did an excellent job and worked with me through the process. We had a number of minor changes with the design and I was kept informed every step of the way. These guys are professionals and have exceeded my expectations. If you have any type of job, these are the people you want to hire. I've used them in the past for other projects and I have a couple of other projects that I have spoken to Sean (The Home Improvement Specialists) to send me a bid for. Little doubt in my mind I will be using this company again for my home remodeling needs.

My experience with Home Improvement Specialists has been excellent. My home needed a wide variety of repairs and upgrades, things that had been neglected in recent years due to my husband's medical issues which prevented him from completing projects he had started when he lost his vision. Unfortunately my husband passed away and I had to hire someone to finish the work he started, and to make some pretty major upgrades to my home. The first person I hired didn’t get very far before needing surgery himself, leaving him incapacitated and unable to do the work. I reached out to Home Improvement Specialists after seeing their excellent rating on Angie’s List and after meeting with, and talking to Jody and Sean extensively about my needs, I immediately had peace of mind in their ability to complete the work and in the skill level of their employees. Every employee that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting has been kind and professional, and have completed their assigned tasks to perfection. Jody and Sean have gone above and beyond for not only me, but also for my mom who recently fell off of her front steps cracking her head open on the side of her house. When I asked for an estimate to install a railing at Mom’s home, after hearing what had happened, Jody not only provided me with the estimate in a day, she also had the railing installed within two days of the accident. Every project to date has been provided at a fair cost by highly skilled employees in a professional and compassionate manner.
