We gave D and P a punch list of 19 small tasks. From the beginning until the job was done, Paul and his team were respectful and prompt. I have already referred him to two neighbors and my sister.

A lot of handyman services leave a mess. The jobs were done to my satisfaction and everything was cleaned up perfectly.

I am not happy with the quality of the work or the (lack) of cleanup. UPDATE 9/5/19: They finished the job at my home in May. They said they would come by and pick up the construction debris. It is now September and the construction debris is still in my yard. They skimped on the quality of products that they used so they could maximize profit - and I gave them a lot of money. You need to inspect the work and write out the punch list and hold them to completing it, they do not do that themselves.

They replaced two railings and rot on our porch. At a quick glance, the job looks ok. With a closer look, there are places where the pieces of wood are not flush. The spacing between the ballisters in the new railings they built that do not match with the rest of the porch. The porch has sections that have 15 ballisters per section and they built two new sections with only 13 ballisters each. There were cigarette butts and nails all over the front yard and in the flower boxes and the workmen left the hose running into the street two days in a row. One of the owners came out and looked at the job and was shown the issues. The other owner, Paul, called and he said they would make it right. They never showed up or called again and over a month has past. The owner, Paul, responded to this review by saying that I am confusing his business with another. That is how he responds to all negative reviews. I hired D&P Handyman & Constucttion to repair my porch and they did not do good work, they left a mess and they cost me an addition $100 on my water bill because they left the hose running all day. Look at any negative review with this company. The owner always says there is confusion, it was not his company and he has no record of the work. This site directly links you to the company that you hire and seeks reviews. Save yourself money and aggrevation and do not hire D&P Handyman.

Update 6/19: The work they've done on the stairs looks good, and they've taken the trouble of repairing a structure that was only meant to be cleaned and repainted. Original: Right now, it's 2.5 because it's too soon to tell how well they will do in relation to the price I was quoted. I will take into account that this is summer, and their services are in demand. I asked this company if they could handle the installation of an exterior door and medicine cabinet in addition to cleaning and repainting several sets of stairs - one approximately six foot, three approximately three foot - and a ground-level wood deck. The person I met, Paul, mentioned that their company uses another bell curve - RS Means, if I've got this right - to determine how to charge their customers. The total cost for this group of projects is on the high end of HomeAdvisor's bell curve of costs for my area. I have already signed the contract, and I will honor the price, but for those who come after me, I suggest checking the bell curve on HomeAdvisor before agreeing to use this company.

Got the job done in good time. No delays like with some contractors.

I chose this company because they (Paul) was the 1st to respond, the 1st to come out to inspect the job, and the 1st to quote it. The workers always arrived on time, were friendly and helpful. Near the end, there were a couple of mistakes (not the workers fault) that were fixed to my satisfaction.

Dave came out to complete 22 items over six days. He was a pleasure to have in the house and his work was quite excellent. I m sure I ll have them back for more jobs.Price was a little more than I was expecting but worth it to have the tasks completed.

The owner (Paul) was professional, fair, and very easy to work with. I would definitely work with D and P again.

I hired D and P to replace popcorn ceilings in 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a hallway. Paul was responsive to my calls throughout the entire project. The crew was polite and friendly, and I was comfortable having them in my home. It did take several follow-up visits to address issues I had with their attention to detail and finishing with a neat and clean product, but Dave did spend time during the final visit working on the areas I was dissatisfied with.
