+ -1 moreIt went very well. They were very helpful in helping us with the shingles that we eventually did contract to purchase. We were very happy with it. Every day, they were meticulous in cleaning up any debris and picking up stray nails and fasteners. They were very good. I knew one of the people that had dealt with them, and they were very high on their service. We did check with Angie's List as well and did talk to a couple of other providers. Bennette was the one we chose to go with, and we were pleased we did. They did a really good job, and we are very satisfied with that.
Description of Work: J Bennette Roofing did a complete replacement of shingles on my roof.

Description of Work: They put chimney gop around our chimney to repair a leak and it did not help at all. This company had put our roof on 12-15 years prior.

+ -1 moreAs most of the work was done as the result of an insurance claim, Jim was very helpful at communicating with the insurance adjuster to ensure the estimates were correct. He certainly went the extra mile on this level of communication. We had two layers of existing 3-tab roofing removed, and new layer put on for a house with Mansard side roofing, as well as a peaked roof on top and a flat rubber roofing system over the addition. The work was booked rather quickly, and started exactly on time. Jim's team was very professional and efficient. They completed the job in the time that was estimated, and the end result was a beautiful looking roof. His team assisted us in gathering damage evidence for the insurance company. They also inspected the quality of the decking and were very good about providing feedback and answering questions as they arose.
Description of Work: · Remove and dispose of existing roofing materials · Re-nail all existing roof sheathing using 8d galvanized ring nails to tighten deck · Provide tarpaulin protection for adjacent walls and landscaping during demolition · Install ice and water shield waterproofing membrane at eaves, valleys, gable rake edges, and under flashing · Install Leatherback # 30 heavy duty asphalt saturated felt · Install white aluminum drip edge · Install G.A.F. Timberline architectural grade shingles (or equivalent) to manufacturers and N.R.C.A. specifications · · All shingles shall be storm nailed per manufacturers specifications for high wind area and greater wind resistance · Install double soldier course on gable rakes with ¾” proper overhang · All work installed using corrosion resistant, galvanized fasteners · Install new vent pipe flashings · Install continuous ridge vent along peak · Install new chimney flashing and counter flashing – lead counter flashing into brick joints and sealed with urethane masonry sealant · Install membrane roofing on lower flat roof · Provide all necessary permits, insurance certificates to perform work legally · All debris to be disposed of in approved, recycling transfer station

Description of Work: Removed and replaced roof on kitchen addition. Installed ice and water shield on entire roof. Install aluminum drip edge. Replaced some cedar shingles on house above addition and installed flashing at roof-to-wall. Made and installed new scuppers on main flat roof. Replaced some trim on kitchen roof and shed.

The only complaint I would have is that my husband told them to go ahead and do the job, and he waited until my husband could meet him with a check; which was a little inconvenient. I think he did a very good job! He fixed it and we tested it and it didn't leak. He was very knowledgeable. He seemed to know what he was doing; he knew that the other roofer didn't do a very good job. We were not surprised because that was not when we owned the house. Everything we found in the house, they didn't do a very good job.
Description of Work: He repaired a rubber roof. We had a leak and we were in the middle of a construction job on the room underneath it, which is a kitchen. He came and fixed the leaks and he fixed what appeared to be a bad job by the person who put the roof on.

+ -1 moreOutstanding. Showed up as promised, estimate was not the highest or the lowest given, but rather right in the middle. They had given a date of installation and called 2 days ahead and said that they would be able to do it earlier if that was acceptable to me. Showed up on time. Completed the job, and it looks wonderful. My neighbor had a rubber roof installed 3 months earlier and the job that Bennette Roofing did - looks far better than my neighbors - the finishing details were outstanding.
